I couldn't see the tests carried out to check the load capacity and deformation tests of Leaf springs. The composition of steel and the physical properties testing process have also not been shown in the video. Quality control is the main factor for any production. The top leaf of Leaf spring using Bushings to hold it with chassis through Shackle has also not been seen anywhere. The production process can be further modernized to save human efforts.

    Strange that so heavy and fairly complex constructions have been replaced in the west with a rubber bag (that can be easily replaced by anyone with a small adjustable wrench) and a small compressor run from the engine.

      Try make a homemade air compressor and rubber bags in a house whit dirt floor.. these leaf springs is made to fit in a copy of a truck that we made in 1950-60 in the west. now add freezing climate in kashmir & himalayas. road conditions, zero maintenance and leaf springs does not need any maintenance..

      @@johanandersson2165 Freezing is no big problem for air bags. I Drive a truck in Canada, -50c is not unusual during winter in some areas, even in the south, and after watching their incredible ingenuity building a 140lb capable rubber bag (given their location and the history of rubber production) would likely be a doddle. Trucks with air brakes already have a compressor built onto the engine and they have a large enough storage tank (brakes use much more air). The leveling valves are less complicated than the valves on the braking system so they should not present a problem for their skills. Air bags only need replacing when they burst so no maintenance either. but it would probably put a lot of people out of work, so maybe not.

Pakistan is a developing country.

    • @davebrown6552
      @davebrown6552 Před rokem

      @@johanandersson2165 Drum brakes on trucks use air even in Pakistan and India (have a look at a brake repair video), it is disk brakes that generally use hydraulics although they have started using air activated disk brakes on trucks recently (they are far less prone to fade when over used) almost all trailers in the US and Canada still use drum brakes. Air bags require NO maintenance except repair when they finally fail (same as with leaf springs or tires). Air bags can generally last the life of a truck or trailer. in over 12 years using a variety of truck and trailers I have only had one fail and that was only because the trailer got hooked onto the dock so the bag was trying to lift up the building.
