I dont know which gives me more pleasure, listening to Gert coax beautiful sounds out of the organ, or watching him. He is a wonderfully physical organist. No restrained palying for him. He throws himself into the playing , body and soul. Long may he continue!
For what it's worth. I am 81 years old and am an incurable pipe organ fanatic. You can ask my family. This young organist is the next international voice of pipe organ, or a new Biggs if you like. Your style of playing is refreshing and technically perfect. Wave your arms, wear your Nikes Your music is an answer to a prayer that good music will last!! Go for it Kid, and like one of the other responders I like the ones when you were 17 as well as I love the new ones. You have my vote!

He is certainly my favorite organist. I've listened to everything he has posted on CZcams and wish he posted more. Every time he posts a new performance it has become my new favorite version of that. The first thing of his I listened to was Bach's Toccata & Fugue in D minor. That was the very first time I heard that piece performed on a pipe organ with such rich clarity. Virtually everyone else plays that either too fast or too slow or it sounds muddied.
Much better than Biggs.
in my 83 years I've heard Dupre, Biggs, Fox and others less famous, but Gert is surely among the best there is in this present benighted age!

I'm a 78 year old organ nut with not an ounce of musical ability & only recently discovered Gert. I love his refreshing style of playing & have never come across anyone else with his amazing God given talent which is so understated & yet overwhelming. I can never get enough of his renditions. May you go from strength to strength. I love listening to everything you play.
Try listening to Sebastian Heindl at Longwood Gardens and several other churches. Choir boy turned organist with stunnning results. Not to take anything away from Gert. He is, indeed an excellent organist.
Hi! Gert. Well what can I say. Wow! I'm in my matured years (old guy), and I've seen some of the best in the world and let me tell you, you are up there with them, if not above. I've been watching your clips for a few weeks now and can see and feel your love and passion for the music and the instrument. I always look forward to a new clip on CZcams but am satisfied to re-watch the older ones, which I have done many times. You are truly a gifted individual, a god given talent. Blackmore, if you haven't yet heard Gert on the Willis organ in Liverpool, you absolutely need to check it our, especially the closing, Pomp and Circumstance. I think what is most impressive with Gert, is his emotional involvement in the music

Veel geluisterd naar deze Toccata. destijds op een 45-toeren plaatje, opgenomen door Feike Asma. Geweldig ! En nu deze versie van Gert, die ik inmiddels ook al tig keer heb beluisterd. Naar mijn idee overtreft Gert hiermee de versie van Feike Asma - een absolute topper onder de organisten, een legende - . Deze versie is 'niet van deze wereld'. Top Gert...bedankt!

Yes Jules Grison was a very talented organist and composer who deserves wide acclaim. For absolute organ heaven look on YT for Peter Eilander (another Dutch organist) playing Grison's Fantasia of Adeste Fideles on the CC of St Quen.

Zo mooi, een van mijn lievelingsstukken voor orgel en dan nog wel in de kerk waar in 1972 mijn huwelijk voltrokken is, prachtig gespeeld Gert, mijn dank is groot. Heel jammer dat ik niet wist dat je in de Laurenskerk speelde, dan had ik zeker gekomen.

Wow... just wow!!! I have never heard anything by Grison before but this was amazing! The way Grison combined elements from Bach's toccata and fugue in D minor with elements of romantic music was brilliant! Also, the way you played was breathtaking!

I have approached our organist here in Grafton Australia to present this piece at a future monthly organ recital , he has not heard of this piece of music or the composer. So here is hoping and praying he will play this music. Meanwhile I slap on the earpiece sit down relax and continue to enjoy your inspiring playing of this majestic instrument . God Bless
