IF you listened to this by The Daily Flash before listening to that group's The French Girl, click on that next. It is one of the finest folk-rock pieces of the mid to late-1960's and unfortunately never left the Northwest. The Daily Flash is playing again in greater Seattle area. Worth hearing in person.
Many groups of that era tried "electrifying" folk versions of songs. It's easy to come up with many artists that did. The Turtles, Grass Roots, The Byrds, etc.
Great song. Been listening to the Blues Project as well as Eric Andersen's original version since the '60s. I heard of these folks as a teen in NY but never heard anything by them til now. THANKS!
@williamkanegateshead Glad to do it. Sang this in my band way back in the day. One of those covers that made everyone slow dance but not many had heard of it so go figure.

This song always kills me! And everyone who plays it does a nice job.
Just lovely melody, every time I listen to the flash or bodine I get depressed. They should have had the world.
It's about time someone else commented so here goes - Absolutely wonderful! Thank you for posting it.
I have this on a compilation cassette tape I bought in the 80s, only good song on the whole thing! Love this tune!
Thank you for digging deep in the garage for this lovely gem!

Not much of them has survived but there are other cuts by The Daily Flash featured on the tube like The French Girl.
This tune sounds really cool
An excellent sound!!! Better than 95% of the new artists hitting the charts and the airways today!!

Hope you're still around. I love this.
Beautiful.
I have a nice version of this by The Robbs, but this one is sweeter!
Do you know if it is available on any CD comps?
This is obviously based on the Mitchell Trio's version from a year earlier.
Eric Anderson!
Doesn't everyone?
