As a Fuji shooter I use primes exclusively because I work mostly in studio and portraiture, and never really shoot longer than the 56mm (or wider than 23mm) A colleague that travels a lot does it now with 2 lenses he uses the Tamron 18-300mm and carries the Fuji XF 35mm F/1.4 for low light and portraiture. He did carry two lenses on 2 bodies, on one the XF 18-135 and the XF100-400 on the other When he upgraded to the X-T5 and found that he could shoot at 300mm and crop in camera and still get satisfactory results he decided to save his back and not carry 2 cameras and 2 lenses when traveling, yet can still swap out the super zoom for the 35mm F/1.4 when he wants to do a portrait etc.
I do the same; my previous combinations of 16-55/50-140 and the 18-135/100-400 have been replaced by the Tamron 18-300 and a 23/1.4 on my X-T5. For me personally, this is simply the ideal "all-round" configuration for hiking, traveling or city trips. If you pay attention to a few things with the Tamron 18-300, it delivers reliable and very usable results.
I had the Tamron 35-150mm F2-2.8 for Nikon Z. It`s a great lens but you have to go to the gym and start a strict physical condition program to gain enough strength to hold it all day... 🙂
If your wedding photographer friend has two Sony bodies, then shooting with Tamron 20-40mm f2.8 and Tamron 70-180 f2.8 may also be an interesting option
I don't know what to say... The zoom is to short for photography. You have two pirmes and a half. Ideally the zoom should have been 24-50mm to be more useful.
