    In context to defect management flow chart, I feel the arrow should be from verify to reopen or closed and not from resolved to reopen. Since user can reopen the issue only when he verify it. Correct me if I am wrong.

      Hi Salman, Great perception. But this is a generic one. It might vary from org to org. We understand as - Resolved is a state marked by developer and followed by a retest by tester. if retest fails it will be reopened, whereas if retest passes it requires managers verification on the same.

      Yes I looked at other charts online, and they go from Resolved>Re-Test> Verified OR Reopened.
      So adding the Re-test step after resolved, makes it more accurate.

    Hi Neeraj. What kind of recommendation might provide a tester in the defect report?

    • @TMSQUARETECH
      @TMSQUARETECH  Před 2 lety

      Not actually a great option but when we talk about agile or product specific you may have suggestion to highlight if that could be a design issue or code issue at high level. This is all applicable as far as we have the same knowledge.

    Hi, what is the difference between a defect report and an incident report?

    • @TMSQUARETECH
      @TMSQUARETECH  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi Khalid,
      It's ISTQB which used both the terminology.
      In 2011 syllabus they called a defect as incident initially when reported by a tester. Once the incident was approved by a lead or test manager the incident was declared as defect.
      But in realtime the organisations don't use different words thus in 2018 syllabus ISTQB uses a single term for Defect.

    Hi Neeraj, Can you please help me to find the answer of following:
    You have received the following description section in a defect report:
    The report executed per the attached steps, but the data was incorrect. For example, the information in column 1 was wrong. See the attached screenshot. This report is critical to the users and they will be unable to do their jobs without this information.
    What is the biggest problem with this defect report?
    a. The developer won’t know how important the problem is
    b. The developer won’t know how to repeat the test
    c. The developer won’t be able to see what the tester is saying is wrong
    d. The developer won’t know what the tester expected to see

      I am not sure about the process of ASTQB you have to check with them itself. I think they shouldn't charge you so much. Please check with them about this dispute/confusion.
