    Your channel has helped get me back into the hobby. Specifically those time when the earth just kind of jumps up in front of my newest Eflite and I am sat at the dinning room table piecing it back together. It has even helped me get my husband into the hobby.

    After watching all your videos and listening to what you had to say it paid off in end, People ask me question about radio setups and I tell them to go and watch 1 of your videos so they can learn in part I'm promoting your channel, I can't say enough good things that you have brought to the table!!!
    Thank You.

    I got one of these last summer. Flys like stink. A lot of fun to fly. My grass field is not good for it. Caused some damage. I now fly it from the road, very tight, bushes and trees along side where I fly from. It has lots of juice to get out of trouble. I do love it.

    The part where you bring up full scale flying is completely different than RC..... Dead on point. Moving from 1st person control to 3rd person is a HUGE jump. The inverse isn't as relevant though. I started off in rc planes before the opportunity appeared to get some time behind the yoke of a Cessna. Having rudder control at your feet instead of being coupled with the throttle makes a drastic difference.
    I've been out of the hobby almost 2 decades, got back in almost a year ago with 2 volantx 400mm warbirds. Jumped from those to a 64mm freewing A-10 which I destroyed on it's maiden. Next victim was the UMX air tractor, a prop strike after a landing gear failure caused a snowball effect of electronic problems which eventually led to getting a whole new A.T. which after almost a dozen flights is still pristine save from the rudder being a bit chewed up (literally) from my wife's new furbaby thinking it was a chewtoy (Hangs from the ceiling now). Picked up a TT Evo last month, snapped the LG springs on the 3rd flight, upgraded to the Falcon RC shocks suspension. I've had a few other boo-boos and dumbthumb situations where glue and/or pliers were involved mainly due to where I fly has an abundance of poles... light poles, football and soccer goals, and my depth perception at a distance isn't the greatest obviously.
    I really like what I've seen from reviews and vids done with this plane, ordered one yesterday, have high confidence I won't smash it to pieces right off.

      @BrianPhillipsRC  Před rokem

      Good luck!!! Since you already have experience flying, from years ago, I'm probably preaching to the choir here, but remember, when you get some more stick time under your belt, you'll have a little less destruction per flight ratio ;) That's a good thing, since it gets expensive with all the repairs when you're first flying RC. It's also nice, since the survivability of each plane is so much better, you get longer to enjoy each one, but that being said, savor the enjoyment of the "new" experience! There's something about when you're a new RC pilot that does fade with time, even though it's still amazing, and still get nerves with new planes, it's just different when you're REALLY scared, when you're new - Live it up!!!

  • @tonydarst8211
    @tonydarst8211 Před rokem

    I flew my first RC plane in 1975, with the old classic Kraft 4 channel analog radio in the orange box. It was a Falcon 56 with an OS40 (?) that took me a year to build. I got back into it briefly around 12 years ago when my son was 8 or 9 - but he never developed interest.
    I retired 2 years ago (now 60) and recently decided to get back into it. Bought a NX8 yesterday and ordered the 850mm Pitts from E-Flite - but it’s backordered until April. My local shop has this UMX Pitts in stock - I’m going to go get it today; to hell with waiting until April.
    Why tell you all this? To thank you. I’ve watched at least a dozen of your vids, using the info to decide which airplane to get. I’m a little nervous flying such a small quick airplane right out of the gate - but I think you’ve convinced me that AS3X and Safe shipped help me keep it intact… lol. Thanks again - keep up the good work!

      Followup: I bought the airplane as mentioned. It took me 5-6 flights to get the trims back to zero and the CG nailed. And it is an AMAZING flyer… I highly recommend it; I love this little thing. Can’t wait for my 850mm to get here.

  • @MikeR-tn9bv
    @MikeR-tn9bv Před rokem +1

    I think it was a screw up on Horizons part, the pulling to the left under power. Mine did the same thing. I'm thinking more about a rudder/throttle mix, cuz just mechanically trimming it, now it pulls to the right, while gliding. Think the moToR was mounted with the wrong offset.

Or in the plane( I know,dumb question🤦‍♂️) .reason is I'd like to get a nice radio right off that I can acclimate to and use in future planes.however sir I'm ignorant on these topics? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    • @klikmaus
      @klikmaus Před rokem

      If you can afford it, get an NX8 or better radio. If on a budget, at least a DX6e. As for the plane, personally I'd recommend a Turbo Timber Evolution with full throw throttle at 70%... keep the power tame until you're used to how the plane handles. The Evo handles great at 50-60% power on 4S when you're knocking the dust off after a hiatus.

    • @klikmaus
      @klikmaus Před rokem

      The SAFE/AS3X tech is in the reciever and to a lesser extent the transmitter. You don't have to have a Horizon/E-Flite plane but you need their Spectrum reciever and compatible transmitter. Your best bet is get an E-Flite BNF so all you have to do is mount the battery properly for CG and get your radio bound.

Hell I'd buy a whole new model if I could but I can't!
