During his final years of life freddie the man and legend of today gave his absolute best performance of his entire life despite the fact that he was dying of aids really made him push to his limits and for that this song is golden to any queen fans out there because of freddie's performance on the album and you can tell how ill he was just by listening to the innuendo album and compare that to the older queen records from the 70s and how eerie and thin his voice had on him when he was dying and even all that nonsense he could still hit those notes like nothing. He really had inspired so many people to pretty much be like him in a different way. Freddie Mercury will never be forgotten for the rest of time. We love love you freddie despite the fact I wasn't even born yet when freddie died in the first place.

The fact that Freddie recorded 'The Show Must Go On' in one take makes me have so much admiration for him, the man was very ill and dying at this time but he found some inner strength to face the world head on and carry on singing for that I respect him more than words can ever express and the meaning of the song is so true but Freddie was determined to keep the show going on he fought until the end and when I listen to his final song Mother Love its so emotional but he left behind a legacy of music for his fans for all eternity and the man will forever be immortalised in the world of music, 2016 marked 25 years since his death and he was just such an incredible person.
I was born in 1990 and I will be 27 in 2017 I was only 1 when Freddie died but my Mums brother is such a massive fan of Queen he was 21 the week before Freddie died and he was in total shock. I like quite a few of Queen's songs and I only started listening to their music in 2013.
I love 1970s & 1980s music ABBA is my all time favourite artist but I like lots of other artists from the 1970s & 1980s people call me strange for liking music from those decades.

The Show Must Go On” is largely a reflection on lead singer Freddie Mercury’s attitude on life. Even when recording this song in 1990, Freddie Mercury was severely ill to a point where he could not even walk properly. Brian May wrote this song for Freddie, and he recalls asking Freddie; “Fred, I don’t know if this is going to be possible to sing.” And Freddie Mercury’s response; “I’ll f*cking do it, darling,” he says after downing a shot of Vodka to numb the pain.
Freddie was dying when this song was recorded. He knew he was dying. For this to be the last song with his vocals, looking at the writers (which was all 4 of them) and they all knew he wouldn't be here much longer, they really hit it with the lyrics. Different parts of the lyrics said how he felt at the time - he was sad that he was dying, but he knew he was going to be free of the illness that was causing his make-up to flake, but he didn't want to hold the others back from making more music: "the show must go on". They all were like family, they saw past the AIDs that he had, they all knew it would be death sentence for him, but Rodger, Brian, and John loved him anyways. Some say that was his punishment for being gay, but who honestly cares? He had unbelievable vocals, he could sing in ranges easily when other vocalist's had a hard time doing so. Some scoff at Rodger and Brian for playing as Queen with "guest singers" but like Freddie said: "The Show Must Go On". John couldn't handle preforming without Freddie singing his heart out and making a show, so he stopped playing all together, but he is still involved with Queen, and he will never let go of Queen. The music industry lost an incredible icon 💔 but the show must go on.
