The Elite Luggie is made for the bigger person. It is made for the maximum user weight of 145Kgs or 320 lbs. I am disabled and able to handle it well. Look at the CZcams video The Luggie Scooter - Lifting & Handling Demo. This is a video which shows a disabled man putting his Luggie in and out of his car. There are many other CZcams videos worth watching to see how to handle the Luggie to suit your needs.

My first time to us it at the casino so much fun and very fast.I had to do several demos to people who wanted to see it and just love my color real blue.
I had one problem I backed up and hit the wall and it started beeping couldn't stop it I did everything the horn doesn't work will beeping I dont know what to do but to return it.

I had calf pain on both legs after 3 days used the 3 wheeled scooter.
I have it, so many people stop my Daughter or Husband in Parking lot ask us about it even at the airport.
Outdated model. Latest model should get an upgrade with bigger wheels for higher ground clearance. Four wheels version would be great.

is it suitable for gravel roads in the woods? mud puddles?
cougar bahia I'd avoid both. Gravel can get into the wheels and unless the puddle is VERY shallow, water is not good for any electric vehicle.

I just wish it could come with four wheels and the wheels could be bigger to provide for higher ground clearance. Most people are put off having to sit on a scooter which looks like a baby pram.

No! Pride Go-go Elite is a disassembly scooter, that needs knowledge do do it. That is a folding one.

Notice the lean-back of the seat! Notice neither lifted the 50 pound unit! Try doing it sometime, especially if you' have a disability of any kind - it's an incredible weight. Notice, for all the all-terrain talk, how smooth the floors were. This is a sell, and its not a very good one. Turtle and bunny rabbit, indeed!
oh Yes if you Have a Disability it can be hard to lift.the seat can be a little more soft. the cost is ok just make the payments with a family member if or check with your insurance they prob, don't cover it. so small payments are not bad..
The video is misleading and make it seem easy for the handicapped individual to lift into the trunk of a car. The assembled unit weigh slightly over 70 Lbs. and would be virtually impossible for one who needs assistance to lift and/or lean over with the weight and place in a vehicle. Although I train at Golds gym three days a week I could not do it and my wife can't help as she has Muscular Dystrophy.
We had to return ours,the personnel were sympathetic and quite helpful in facilitating the return.. However the company should make it clear the the transport is heavy and a two MAN Task. The manufacturer and QVC are creating PR and logistic problems for themselves
Ironically tape on the box warn the UPS driver to be careful lifting as the the package weighs 70+ LBS. The video should impart the same knowledge to the handicapped customer!!
Did you try removing the 20 pound battery first? That leaves 50 pounds to lift into a car and the way it folds seems you could just lean one half of the folded length into your hatchback and then just have to lift the other end to slide it all the way in making no time you'd be holding all 50 pounds.

This is a bluff job, a disable man could not life this scooter in to a boot of a car , it would be just to heavy, also he is traveling on smooth floors , u would need to be a very fit man with no disabilities to ride this scooter, perhaps a weight lifter,
terence doonan THE EV RIDER IS NO BLUFF JOB! I've had this scooter for two years. I'm a very heavy lady, more than its alleged limit of 250lbs. I took it to Maine in the middle of the winter so it also had to carry my small toiletry bag AND my heavy winter coat as well as me---and the EV Rider handled it without losing any power or speed. I've taken it on cruises, on airplanes, to parks, museums, shopping and sightseeing. It's been to Renaissance Faires and carried me (and my costume) all day long.
Another factor you might want to consider is the price. Most light-weight folding sccoters cost between $2000 and $2500. The EV retails at $1900, but if you shop around you can get it for as little as $1400, I did, and they shipped it for free! Used ones, when you can find them, are even less.
My only complaint is that it has no carry basket, but I was able to jury-rig a bicycle basket to work. I also carry my cane in a modified backpack. The scooter's real-world weight with the lithium-ion battery in it is only 64 pounds. I checked. I can wrestle it in and out of the car with some problems (back issues); the husband handles it easily. I purchased the lithium-ion battery and not the lead acid. It's worth the money--lithium ion is safer, meets airline standards and goes a lot further too. If you want a reliable, sturdy scooter that's actually FUN to ride (mine's nicknamed The Sports Car), that will go anywhere for you, then buy the EV with confidence.

Michigan Mister You'll have to search out the answers for yourself. I thought $1500 was a good deal compared to most folding scooters. Mine's still going strong.
Danny Jane I negected to add that a disabled man most certainly CAN lift this light-weight into a vehicle. I can't lift it into our van, my husband handles that (with his bad back and all!) but I can get it into my little runabout liftback by folding it up, rolling it to the car and balancing the top wheels onto the deck and then leveraging the back in to follow. It's only 64 pounds battery and all.
terence doonan I should add for anyone who really can't handle this scooter's 64 pounds that regular scooters weigh about 110 to 120 pound and have to be taken apart. Each part weighs between 25 and 60 pounds. That's a lot of repetative lifting.
However, if it IS too much for you, check out the TravelScoot. I have one and I don't like it as much, but if you're familiar with how a motorcycle works, it may work out for you quite nicely. The TravelScoot weight only 36 pounds and I can lift it, bad back, health issues and all. It supports up to about 350 pounds, it all breaks down and fits in a duffel, but even assembled and with the battery installed, it's a lightweight. However, it's a very basic scooter and it's very expensive.
This is not a safe scooter!
