I just bought one very similar to this one here in the UK. Mine doesn't have the power switch next to the charging port. Do you know why there is an extra charging port under the scooter? Is it for charging when the scooter is folded maybe? Thanks.

Finally I located the battery connection harnessed with your help. Thanks, because there was no mention of it whatsoever in the enclosed instruction manual.
So, I connected the battery, put the key in the ignition, turned it, turned both on/off switches to on, and then pressed the lit up green button. The scooter did not unfold. I then tried to push the green button on the remote, as the manual says that this will unfolded, but it did not unfold.
Is there a trick I am missing, or is it time to ship this thing back to QVC and leave the worst review I can possibly come up with to make myself feel better about all this wasted time?
I would write an email to EV Rider directly. That's the manufacturer. They might be able to help you.

When I get on the plane they ask me to remove the battery Can you tell me how it closes and opens without the battery 🤷🏼♀️🤔

Will this fit in a newer mustangs trunk folded
It is quite possible, the overall length is 34.5" and width is 18" I would suggest measuring the trunk and comparing!
How to remove the battery and unfold/fold manually for traveling on aircraft?
You cannot fold or unfold it manually unfortunately.
