I never listen FM radio. Who’s going to make the first battery powered job site microwave? That’s what I want!
Haha, hell yeah buddy
Jaja me too
What I want is somebody to invent a minus button for the microwave.
That way you could pop in a warm mug of beer, punch minus 90 seconds into the keypad
hit start and in a minute and a half get a nice frosty cold one for lunch.
Been waiting for the April 1st joke for 3 years now. They should able to make one with 4 60v
Check Mikita. They will probably be first.
This speaker is the only system I have in my house and it is great. Use it everywhere almost daily. Sometimes the unit has to be turned off and back on to connect again. The sound obviously delays if I’m watching CZcams but plain music is just fine. Only thing lacking sound quality wise is good bass but that’s to be expected. I only have 6AH batteries currently for my Dewalt tools and this thing lasts a long time. Maybe 25-30 hours. Loud enough to still clearly hear it 75 feet away. This thing rocks!
Do you have to use the buttons on the speaker to adjust the sounds or skip songs? Or can you do it remotely with your phone from across the shop?
@@TMar129 phone.
I love mine! I've used it at my welding shop the past 5 years! Awesome little radio
Thank you for actually playing the speaker bro!!!
One of my coworkers just bought today (5-25-2019). Everyone in my shop listened to it today, my coworkers and I agree that works great and has great sound quality! I contacted my Mac Tool distributor and ordered one!!
Good review! I will say, after I connect my phone to the speaker, and turn my phones volume to max, the speaker can still be turned to a much higher volume with the + button. More adjustability than just my phone volume.
Great review! Have been considering this and yes I wish it had an FM station option..
Good review man, picking one up soon!
This is a great speaker I bought it around black Friday the only thing dewalt could have done was to add a compartment for US B and the AC cable
Yeah that would have been a nice addition John
How’s the sound quality? Been thinking about buying one the battery on my Walmart brand one is toasted
You have a great taste in music 👏
IM LOVING THESE HYBRID TOOLS!
Yeah buddy, nice to review something other than a drill lol
This Is A Sweet Dewalt Blue-tooth Speaker👍
No FM radio necessary. Stream whatever you desire from the internet: FM, CZcams music channels, Sirius XM, digital music services, podcasts. Sooo many choices are available!
They need to make one of these that also charges your batteries while playing music while it’s plugged in.
I have this and it’s amazing
Just got mine, and it’s great. Only complaint is that the bass in mine is really strong, I mean really strong. Wish there was an app to adjust settings
Thanks for the info, brother.Because I'm going down to my local Ace.Hardware to pick one up right now. While they are on sale until the twenty seventh of ma'am , these are way better than all that crap you can get at walmart , at least you've got a self sufficient battery and you could probably drop at twenty feet off of the ledge , and it will still sound even better
Thank you so much.
I bought it for the soul purpose it's a blue tooth speaker. If I wanted a radio then I would by a radio. BUT i think all devices that are blue tooth speakers should have weather alert. If there is a tornado warning it would interrupt with NOAA radio broadcast. Small rubber stub antenna for reception. When it's off it would automatic turn on when warning alerted. Simple adjustments for types of warnings with software, computer via usb. So if you didn't want flood warnings then you can disable it and you can pick and choose what warnings you want. Just a thought......
If you want FM you have to buy the DeWALT dcr018 model which cost a few bucks more
The FM radio is a big deal in my opinion. That's all I listen too. Good review TRZ. I would not have even noticed the lack of fm if you did not mention it.
Thanks Brandon!
Not really a big deal. Just run fm radio through your phone to the speaker....problem solved ..
Simple radio app
Radio is trash
Crazy question but can you charge the dewalt battery through the USB port? Looking for an off grid option. Thought about coupling it with a small solar charger with USB output?
Great review... On sale now at HD spring Black Friday sale..buy a 3.0 ah DeWalt battery get the speaker free! See their weekly ad it is listed there...oh the ad says battery $99 get speaker free...if the display shows $119 battery and $99 radio, look at the back of that sign, they were supposed to flip it over on the 4th...the speaker box says nothing about USB slot or actually power so I did not buy it, I will go get one after watching this review..thanks...PS just use FM radio app, and listen to just about any FM station worldwide
Thank you.
I hope some of these fm radio comments are from the 90’s lol I haven’t listened to the radio in about 2-3 years.. Spotify till I die. I’m going to by this sucker
FM still works....it’s like the AM of my childhood.
Yeah bro. Only time I listen to FM is during the time warp 80s weekends. Other than that, I dont even know what they play on it anymore
I have actually been looking for one about that size with FM and Bluetooth, I have the old school Dewalt radio and the memory doesn't work anymore it is almost the size of a car, and I run 20V not 18V so I always have to plug it in.
I have my Makita speaker from before I Switched to dewalt but I am tired of charging Makita batteries just for a speaker.
I may break down and buy this on but yes I wish it had FM.
Yeah bro, this is much smaller and actually has some great sound to it.
So long story short you're 18 volt batteries outside of the US will work on a 20 volt US market .
The only difference between DeWalt 18 volt and 20 volt batteries is the marketing Europe has different rules than the US. Europe rules do not allow for the exaggeration that is allowed in US market.
Because when you fully charge an 18 volt battery regardless of manufacturer Milwaukee Makita rigid kobalt Bosch resting voltage will be 20-21 volts but as soon as you turn that power tool on be it an impact driver or a circular saw and it starts pushing amps it will automatically drop to 18 18.5 volts and a half volts which is the nominal voltage for a 20 volt Max battery from DeWalt just like a car battery when it's fully charged reads anywhere from 12 and 1/2 to 13 and a half volts but as soon as you try and start the car that voltage drops to about 11 volts then jumps right back up to 13 and a half to 14 and a half once the alternator kicks on and starts charging the battery while you're driving.
You’re spot on with this. If it had a radio It would be great. Dewalt’s radios just now apart from 1 are all huge. Sometimes I just can’t be bothered lugging around my tough system radio. It has amazing sound quality but it’s just to big.
If you have any upper body strength they aren’t heavy
@@W3TFART bro, you already got too many stuff to carry on site, who goes back to get the radio too? For workshop is alright but for site you need something portable
@@nikchris69 never used the tstak or tough system then have you ?
It’s good for the weaker man
Radio is trash listen to what’s good only
If you want radio. Just google your favourite radio station and you can listen live to it. So there is no need to have a radio built in.
Is it loud enough to hear your music when your in your car with the windows down and all the air blowing in? My current speaker is not loud enough.
Good job mate... cheerioooo 😷
Great review
Yes I am with you it’s a great Bluetooth speaker / well made but fm function would be nice
Very good review ,I’m thinking about getting one but just have a question the USB port can I be able to use a usb drive to listen to music as well ?
No
It’s just like going to Best Buy and looking for a blue tooth speaker, radios are on a different isle, you guys are killing me, but the radio one then lmfao if you want a radio lol
*listening on my phone*
Me: yeah that bass sounds good
Every Bluetooth speaker I have a customer EQ profile profile on my phone, even my ear buds Whenever I get a new Bluetooth speaker I always go to my phones equalizer and play around until I find the right sound using a variety of music. Also if a Bluetooth speaker does not sound loud enough there are DB booster apps to increase max volume just becareful not to blow the speaker
No big deal at all about the radio. I would rather listen to nothing than listen to advertisement central.
Good choice of music!👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Can never go wrong with Queen Alan!

Lmao, I thought it was shot in the dark? Haha
@@ToolReviewZone
Haha I guess my dirty minded autocorrect fucked me over again loll
@@ToolReviewZone
Loll I didn't even notice
of course, there's a ton of radio apps on every phone now to get any station anywhere in the world.
If you don't have the battery for the speaker, can I use the plug it come with to charge the speaker.
Is there a place on the speaker to store the cord?
Not sure why people complain about it not having a radio when u can get radio through your phone.
It makes this device more compact and cost less without a radio that u don't need.
Got mine on order now. Need better speaker for my lap top.
Looks like a neat boom box for the beach 🤙 radio would have been nice 👎
Yeah Aussie, that's actually a great idea for the beach. Yeah, I'm kinda scratching my head as to why they didn't offer the FM at this price point though?
It should charge the battery while plugged in
I don't care for radio. However thank god they put an Aux jack in the USA version because the Bluetooth lags for videos and for use as a studio monitor when amplifying a synth or other instrument like the Artiphon Orba... If you are a musician and wanna jam during a break.
Any idea what that little paddle is for at the battery connection? It's been driving me mad!
For the cord input. If you don't have batteries to spare.
The only problem i have is i work in a big construction warehouse where everybody has there own bluetooth playin, how far can i work and still hear the music playin through all the machinery sounds
It's a hard question to answer just because it depends on how loud the machines are. I will day it gets pretty loud. It should be fine, but you can always return it if it doesn't work for you
do this speaker work well in loud zones?
What does it mean when I turn the radio on and makes two beeps and turns off and won’t pair. Just starting to happen
Is this comparable to a jbl flip five because I have a flip 5 and it's got a shortage in it or something and it jus cuts off outta knowhere and it's annoying but does the DeWalt speaker have good bass and is it loud like a jbl is the bass in it good and also is it loud and does it have good bass in it
Awesome DeWalt Bluetooth Speaker Review brother I like it to very nice :)
Thanks TJ! Hope all os well buddy
12v, 20v, 60v and AC powered
FM?! It's a Bluetooth speaker! I have NEVER seen a Bluetooth speaker with included FM!!
I can't seem to connect my DeWalt radio to a DeWalt speaker. Is it possible to?
Does it have to be the 20v battery? I’ve used other ones and it seems to work fine.
It take 20v, 12v, and Flex.
TRZ!! Long time no see!!
I know bro. Took a little break, but back with avengance now bro!
Can I play music from an USB memory?
They make another unit with radio capability it's the Dewalt DCR025
Yeah need the radio just in case
Can you play Music from a USB Flash Drive
I work in a space with constant unit fans. I want to hear the music and not the fans. How loud is this thing?
It's OK, but may want to go a bit bigger if the fans are that loud
Yes you're right it does need FM that's the deal breaker.
Can you connect a USB and play music from it directly?
unfortunately, no
You can use the AUX jack
how many decibels does it produce?
450 watts
Queen, Aerosmith, and Ozzy. Great Review and playlist.
What is the real power of this speaker in watts?
20W
60 volt? I thought it was 12v / 20v only?
Between this or a JBL Flip series, I'd rather get the JBL Flip. They're about the same price and the JBl sounds better
Can I pair 2 together
Does it charge battery
Can you use it without the cord? or is the cord to charge the battery?
It's both corded and battery powered
I totally forgot I asked this question
AM/FM radio???? What is this 1985? U can get that ancient technology on a phone app anyways. ( don’t know why I would want to though.)
I think it would be cool for it to have FM. Sometimes you just can’t waste your data
Yeah, that data ain't cheap bro!
Just hook up to wifi.... if possible.
I wish it had SD card . The USB it's just for charging .
Yes it needs a fm/am radio 👍
Simple radio app. Easy
Really I think the FM tuner is unnecessary with all the radio apps nowadays. If you wanna listen to radio, do it through your car or put on one of the apps and play it through this speaker.
So I was thinking about this same thing the other day. I actually hate FM radio because of the crap music and same comercials over and over (but) we went to the Drive on movies last weekend and had to tune into an FM station to hear the movie. I guess the point is, it wouldn't hurt to have it as I had to take my ridgid radio instead
@@ToolReviewZone oh, OK I guess that makes sense, I forgot about drive in theaters lol. Haven't been to a lot but they were fun, I think when we went all the parking spots had speakers that you could hook to your window.
Yeah, they got rid of all of those I'm my area. They actually charge fmto rent one now lol
@@ToolReviewZone I'm sure it wouldn't take much to put an fm tuner in there either. Actually after thinking about that, I went ahead and checked Dewalt's website and looks like they have a new radio out that does both. It's the DCR028, might wanna review that one.
Awesome brother, I didn't even know they came out with a new one. Now I need to check it out for sure👊👊👊👊
This guy is really hooked on the FM stuff
Is he?
I'm waiting for a Dewalt worksite SATELLITE radio...
Howard Stern and Hair nation at work loll
Only two channels I listen to bro!
Just get the SiriusXM app
@@blake102989 that's a great idea?
Would you know if it uses data?
@@achrisofalltrades5620 yes it will. Do you have it in your vehicle? If so you have to have the highest membership to be able to use the app unfortunately but if you would use it alot it would be worth the extra 10 or so a month.
@@achrisofalltrades5620 also, home depot has these for free when you buy the 3mah battery with charger. At least at the store by me they do.
it is a big deal because if you dont have a phone and helps for emergency iam surprised too
uses less battery for radio
FM would be nice. Can you play CZcams on it? lol
Yeah you can broski!
I not had the charger we've lost it
На мою думку це добра річ)
THERE IS LITERALLY A VOLUME BUTTON ON THE RADIO
No big deal at all about the radio ga ga ;)
needs dab+, fm will gone in about 1 to 2 years
bluetooth nice for at home but not at the jobsite, drains the phone batterie way to fast. and i dont charge my phone on the radio,
I bought this for where I work. I don't t listen to the radio just use my phone.
DCR018+DCR002=Radio with Bluetooth. Problem solved.
I'd rather show them workers my hard rock tunes.
I am a dewalt fan boy, but this speaker is complete trash. Not nearly loud enough. Speakers are paper cones! I just bought one and returning it tomorrow. Ive seen small speakers that sound much better than this for much less. Only down side is they dont take a dewalt battery!. Il try the dewalt speaker for 150 and see if its any better.
Its loud
You can listen to the radio through your phone. Why is it such a big deal to this guy? Its like he feels he got screwed out of something he didn't even want
I hear ya, music today, all genres is pretty much crap. At least what they’re broadcasting on the airwaves
music bad trump good woo
I have the charger
