Quick question. You've spent a decade putting work online and still never sold a piece. Social media is the same few people seeing your posts . Has anyone got an idea how you make any income via art, as it appears to be a black hole and very expensive hobby .
It can be unless you put the work in. I have tried to explain this on several of my videos. A lot depends on what you are trying to achieve but it starts, in my opinion, with who it is you are trying to sell to (your market). Have you created an optimized website that provides a great user experience and is fully search engine friendly? Have you defined what your ideal customer looks like? Have you reached out to your local community? Participated in art fairs or events? Have you written to newspapers and journals asking to be featured? Have you actively been seeking your market through social media? (eg, interior specialists, business owners, architects in my case).
There are hundreds of things you can and should be doing. If you just put out images on Social Media and are hoping for the best your chances of success are very low. I checked your CZcams channel and there are no links to you anywhere - see what I mean? I looked for you online and found an empty LinkedIn page - so where and how would a potential client find you? If you've spent a decade putting art online as you say then how do I find it all?
Make fan art, for different series which you love, it usually brings in traction faster than making ocâs
Sorry for the novel, but these are my tips: the best way to sell art is to tie in with something, films, the sci fi or horror genre etc... Otherwise no one gives a monkeys unless you set yourself up as a pet and baby portrait artist or paint insipid landscapes... You'll only get into the art and gallery system if you have a touch of the con artist... That's the most vital thing for that world, you can honestly do dull ugly art, and talk your way into being considered good by these people.
The right politics are more important now... if you have any beleif that veers even slightly from wokeism... hide it. Paint someone in a feotal position and call it waiting to be born, and go on about how the bed is a womb, when all you've done is... Painted someone sleeping, do that... And these people will start taking notice. But it would feel hollow.
To be honest as someone who went to art school, you don't go to learn how to paint, I did that all by myself, you learn how to conform to their system. So they can market you and make money off you if you're one of the very few who make it.
You forgot to add: "Number 11: Make a youtube video: Film yourself whilst walking around your studio, making sure you promote your own art in the background whilst talking about how should you promote your art." Love the irony! LOL!
memememineme ah yes, well spotted! Well, in my defence, itâs a nice space and where I work so it kinda makes sense to film there! But yes, I totally get the irony of it! Lol
It's a fantastic idea, I think!
@@SwarezArt Yes, but you have something to show, yourself, your art, the space you are in, the way you think, etc,... Number 1 should always be, be a better artist, and don't expect people to be interested in your crap.
Doppe1ganger well, lucky for me that people are! Thanks for your input! Much appreciated.

Do whatever feels comfortable. Whatever time allows.
For me, I consign only, because it gives me more time to research, create and enrich my life. No website. No orders. No deadlines.
With several different stores, I sell at least 1000 items per year. I rotate merchandise every 6 months with 4 Spring collections and 4 Fall collections of purses and jewelry that are always in flux.
It's just my way of streamlining my craft as well as my life to make the most out of my time.
Tourist areas, wealthy communities and busy general stores tend to sell out requiring more frequent inventory.

Would be great to have a session on how you price your art? Do you calculate the costing of the canvas, number of paints used, tools and then add on your experience? Do you price it according to the client?

Thanks so much for your help and support for me to success in life. I think in HINDI LANGUAGE "KEHTE HAI NA KI "LAMBI RES KA GHODA HAI" just understand like that.
So thanks again for your help and support for my resume.
Your intro must be an editing software template. Lachri Fine Artâs channel has the same one, music and fade in but with her logo. It was a trip seeing that. I thought I clicked on the wrong video for a second.
Thanks. I have changed it recently though to something a little more dynamic!
Swarez Art It was an older video, I thought that might be the case. Hey just want to let you know I enjoy your videos, you have a lot of good info and youâre very encouraging.

Hitting all your friends up for money is a sure winner. All the big artists love to mooch off of everybody.
Never done that... but I have used art in lieu of rent.
Thank you so much for this! I recently realized that Iâm pretty good at drawing and am very new to all of this. Iâve always wanted to paint and create but never explored any of it until now. Iâm in my 40s and I just want to do anything that makes me happy. Art does that. Would you recommend taking classes or just explore on my own? All your paintings are beautiful and are inspiring me to pick up a brush and go at it. Lol Do you think an artist can be successful if they arenât painters and only draw? Iâm working on my second childrenâs book right now with many more on the way. Iâm looking at it as a way to get my work out there and maybe get eyes on what I create in the future.
As I don't draw it's tricky for me to say. I would however say that if you feel that your technique could be improved or you feel you want to change something but are stuck then absolutely go for classes. If you are content with your own output then explore by yourself. It really becomes a choice for you to decide. No harm in taking a course if you have the time and budget for it. Thanks for your feedback!!
ENJOYED! AND I LEARNED A LOT! TWO WEIRD THINGS ABOUT MYSELF: 1. I GOT THROWN OUT OF THE FIRST GRADE BECAUSE OF ART ( YOU KNOW PAINTING) 2. AND I HAVE A BIGFOOT, THE ANIMAL, BLOG
Thanks Linda - glad you enjoyed it!
