I would love to see you do a whole piece from start to finish with this method. You are very talented.

Patricia Medeiros thank you so much! It’s not a look that gets requested from clients or a look I do often - I’ll keep that in mind though 😀

    Volume was low.
What was the color on the board when you started ? Was it a stain on a color paint

I don’t think I mentioned - it was stained with Varathane Briarsmoke and I used General Finishes Persian Blue

Love this. What type of paint would you use with the vaseline?

Christie Zenner hi there - you can use any, I used General Finishes Milk Paint, but most any paint will work!

I have a wood desk that I would like to paint/distress. I would like to do a base coat in an Ivory white with a beige/brown tone on top. Could I use the vasoline to lift off some of the beige/brown to show the ivory paint underneath?

So you can do that or you can just wet distress - which when you put your brown, take a clean damp rag and wipe the areas that you want to distress. Its a bit cleaner than using the vaseline when you multiple colors. I like the vaseline when I can just trying to expose the bare wood underneath.
