    So I've really gotten alot of useful info watching your videos, and have been able to do alot of repairs to my 03 mini s model, the question I have is can you bypass the neutral safety switch without damaging anything else? I know it's magnetic and about 99% positive that's the problem since periodically when it won't start I can move the clutch pedal slightly and it will start. Thanks for any help.

    Thank you brilliant detailed videos. bought my wife a new JCW in 04. 79000 on the clock, another new car, so I put it in the barn 3 yrs ago with a view to completely rejuvenating it for fun and forgot about it. This is going to be some sort of project, the clutch was worn and it had a oil leak. 'im thinking of completely dismantling it, where to start and would appreciate your take on this. Uncovered it yesterday bodywork is perfect.

    Hi there, you're doing a great job with your videos. I have a 2009 mini cooper base model, when I drive it in the mornings( going to work) works fine , but in the afternoons ( returning home) It doesn't idle. I notice some water coming out of the tail end of the exhaust . It's doesn't misfire. And starts at once. A bit help please?

    What kind of camera do you use? I want to record while working on my Mini so I can remember how things go back together.

    Dumb question have 2005 mini cooper turbo needs an engine and have access to a non turbo engine for cheap. Can the non turbo be swapped in the turbo car and if so what would it take? Thank you and have a great day

    Love your videos. Do you have anything on replacing syncronizers on a 5 speed, and is it even possible. Can't find any info anywhere.

    Hey man I know you know alot about these cars and was wondering if you could help ? I have intermittent starting issues and can't figure out why? Replaced starter w a new one and also recharged the battery just to ensure that wasn't the issue. Still having problems. Just clicks and maybe after try #7 it'll start like nothing happened. Then good for 3 -4 days then issue again. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

      Not sure, you can probably just remove it, apply pipe sealant, and reinstall.

    I know this has nothing to do with this video but can you install a R53 6speed tranny on a R50?

    • @ModMINI
      @ModMINI  Před 5 lety +1

      Me? I've never done but I probably could. It wouldn't' be worth it however. Way too much work and programming.

    • @scottcates
      @scottcates Před 3 lety +1

      I have done this swap. It's fairly easy. New axles, clutch slave mount, transmission mount, clutch, and front engine seal. I might be missing something but no programming was required in my R50.

    You sir have an excellent Channel.
    Really awesome. Stumbled upon you looking for a detailed video on a clutch replacement for a r56 cooper. Found your r53 vids which are incredibly detailed, any chance for a video on a newer model? 2006-2013? Or any pointers for i could use?
    Keep it coming!
