Russell Crowe told this story so well.
+Honey Badger It's a skill few master.
Because he had to tell it in nearly every interview.
He is an actor ..... and its a made up story so he was just doing his job. Seriously 95% percent of stories celebrities tell on publicity junkets for movies are made up and simply to draw attention to the movie. His flawless delivery of the story is not an accident - it was rehearsed probably more thoroughly then his lines for the movie.
It is a real story you pleb
Prove it AngrySam
Bro, the audience was dead quiet when Russell Crowe was giving his story. DAMN!
Raconteur
He is a great storyteller.
Russel Crowe could read the ingredients of a cereal box and people would listen. The man can hold a room.
You can verify this, but Russell Crow has done this for more than just the two kids in the story, Russell Crowe once saw a small boy try to skateboard but he wasn't too good at it, and he looked discouraged, and apparently on a walk while taking a break from his shoot he saw this happen, the kid was trying to do it for hours and by the end he was almost in tears, Russell walked up to the kid and told him "The time you spend working hard today, will make you so skilled that when you work it will look like you are hardly working."
That kid grew up to be Tony Hawk!
Just look at Henry when Russell's telling the story. He looks so proud and nostalgic it makes my heart swell with feels X3
"You were morbidly obese, you could have died." Hahaa, I love Graham :')
Do you still watch the show?
Russell Crowe is so charismatic ! From the moment he opens his mouth everybody shuts up and listens to him
it's a small world after all :) oh and I really love the look on Henry's eyes while Russell Crowe was telling the story...
The same look of this little kid and the same respect and admiration to his movie idol
Crowe is a great story teller. In the beginning, all we know about the advice is that it was truthful and then it's revealed at the end XD
1:43 Cavill looks like he's about to cry
+ImagenaryFriendd I just said that
+ImagenaryFriendd Superman can cry if he wants.
+ImagenaryFriendd It's gotta be an emotional set of memories ... come on, you should know that. :)
+PacalB Of course! It was a statement, not a judgement. Don't worry.
You know this story was made up right ? Its a story for the publicity tour to give them something to talk about on TV shows. Its not actually real :)
russel crowe is so nice
Mr. Crowe is one of my favorite actors of all-time!!!
+kalihi tama Maximus! Maximus! Maximus!
+123Comrade he is the original one to say "are you not entertained!?"
Top 5 for me
They pay you well but they treat you like shit
-Russell Crowe
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA Sounds like a fair trade to me. Sign me up!!
The risk own hollywood industry
Russell is such a gent. Sending something with words of wisdom to a boy you only met once in passing. What a great guy. Crazy story. What are the odds? I'd guess that he probably quietly did many amazing things for people that no one will ever know about
Russel Crowe's voice is amazing.
Australian accent
Crowe's a great story teller. I've heard him (and Cavill) tell this story many times, and each times he's added something to it to make it a little more awesome. This is the first time he mentioned the other kid, Merlin, and what he went on to do.
Russell Crowe is such a gentleman, you can see how much Henry looks up to him. Charming story!
That subtle node by russel on 2:57 and crowd shut up , damn
Outstanding story telling.(By the look on henrys face he is honoured and previldge to work Russel the Legend who made what he is Today.) #Best.
You realize the story is 100% made up. Its just something they created to draw attention to the film for the publicity tour.
@@angrysam5361 lol ok buddy. Go back into your bunker.
The look in Cavill's face when Russels telling the story.
Amazing what an effect a small moment and a chance encounter can have on a young mind isn't it?
"ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?" by a beautiful story of course...
"They pay you pretty well, but they treat you like shit."
Kinda heartbreaking considering how Warner Bros treated him as Superman.
That's true. He even kickstarted Hugh Jackman's career by suggesting him for Wolverine.
Russell sending these kids gifts- what a nice guy.
that was a really nice story.
Henry's teary eyes, i can't...
I love how Henry doesn't feel ashamed whatsoever of his childhood nickname. And for those who called him that, shame on you but it doesn't matter because look where he is and where you are now?
Could have been an affectionate nickname. Common thing in Britain and Australia
He was the kid in The Count of Monte Cristo. He was not fat there.
I mean my friends called me fat but it was not in a teasing way. You kind of know when its in a negative way. And i was infact FAT so..
This story and hugh jackman remembering his gym student must be so cool for the recipients ! I think there might be a few others....
Bloody love this story and also great how Cavill even when shooting the film together with Ruseell crowe never mentioned it until russell crowe actually mentioned to him. Top bloke!
That’s just crazy; funny how real-life sometimes is stranger than art. It also goes to show how just a small word of encouragement from someone at the top can change someone’s destiny, not only for Cavill’s but the other kid he mentions too.
This is why "The Graham Norton Show" is the best talk show.
"Okay, so you were ENORMOUSLY at 13"
"I don't know about ENORMOUSLY fat."
'You were morbidly obese, you could have died"
Hahaha I can't stop, that was brilliant!
Imagine calling Henry Cavil fat in the middle school and then calling himself his proud classmate during the premiers.
Russell Crowe is a great storyteller!
Henry looked like he was about to tear up
Moral of the story: Be good to people, cause you don't know tomorrow
When Henry Cavill met Russell Crowe ❤❤🎉🎉 save me
Graham *interrupting* "You were morbidly obese, you could've died."
BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA x'D!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You can see Henry is looking up to him
Henry Cavill - My Superman( love him)
Russell Crowe - Gorgeous!!!
Russell is such a great storyteller! I want to listen to him, all day!
This interview was great. Thanks for posting!
Cavill is perfection. I can't even . Omg
Even though I'm not British, Graham Norton is where I go when times are rough and I need a good laugh.
American talk show hosts could take a leaf from his book.
Yeah man, it's easy going and not in your face. Graham has a great Irish wit too. I think the celebs enjoy it as well.
A good actor, a good director, a good writer, a good speaker must--necessarily, above all the rest, be a good story teller.
I love that it came full circle. They would both be casted in Superman and they would work together.
Henry = Perfection
In an American talk show Russell Crowe and would have been stopped at least ten times for this Graham Norton is the best talk show in the world IMHO.
Cavill = DROP. DEAD. GORGEOUS!!! Ahhhh!
Thanks for posting.
"My name was indeed Cavill, and I was indeed fat" - I love how he said that.
This is such an excellent story!!
Such a great story
What an incredible story!!
my gosh I could write a entire text about how perfect is Henry Cavill, he is... Yep, PERFECT!
i love him. can't wait to see the movie.
So a young boy decides to join the army and later becomes a security officer back home afterwards all because Russell Crowe gave him a photo from one of his best movies with words of encouragement on it. True heroes will always be those who humbly show kindness and inspire others to be the best, especially when they don’t even know what it will lead to. 7 years ago, I was walking on a beach to see a piping plover nesting sight when I met two other men doing the same to photograph it. We all talked for a while and by the time we parted ways they told me they were retired navy veterans. That thought stuck with me all day and 5 years later, after careful planning, I joined the Navy. It was all because I was inspired by 2 bird photographers who didn’t know what they created. Thank You!!!
Basically, I think we can all conclude from this that Russell Crowe is some sort of lucky charm.
I have the feeling Russel Crowe is a hidden Tom Hanks. That means that he is actually a celebrity that would live next door and would just ring the bell if he happens to run out of sugar
Wow!!! Cavill even wooed Russel Crowe with his charm.
love this story
Very cool story. No such thing as coincidence. ❤️
I just realized Cavill gave Crowe a job. Full circle
He's great, the movie was amazing!

Henry is so James Bond 😍
I first saw Henry in Count of Monte Cristo. He was supposed to play Edward in Twilight too.
Cavill is so beautiful. Crowe is my dad.
Russell crowe's voice is so deep and easy on the ear that I can listen to him all day. 😇😌
The Great British Smile :)

Russell Crowe is a raconteur par excellance

Is there a video of it??? :D
It's crazy how Russell said they worked together for months before he asked him if he knew him omfg that would've been the FIRST thing I said on set lmao
The movie is EPIC 4 real I say it is one of the best movies I have ever seen, go see it. you have to experience it in 3D.
