I love how Lauren admitted that her favorite part of Cecil's show is when he shuts up.
I'm laughing because I can just imagine Janice coming to Cecil and asking if he can help with the cookies and him putting a really strained smile and nodding. When she leaves he literally collapse to the floor because he HATES advertising.
I bet what he HATES even more is STEVE CARLSBURG, which by the looks of it, is either married to Cecil's sister, or "replacing" Cecil's brother as he's implied to be Janice's step-father. And STEVE is such a terrible person he doesn't even cares about Janice's extracurricular activities

I listened to it it was so awesome
I love how you could see the subtle transformation cecil is going through. He went from just blindly excepting what the station management told him to having his own thoughts on stuff. He started to show signs of it in the visitor episode.
+I like ice cream That was when the actively hurt someone he loves. He wasn't blind before that though. He got out a message in "Missing" despite having to hijack his own broadcast to do so. But after Khoshek was hurt, it became PERSONAL.

Or maybe Carlos opened his eyes :/ He's shown signs of being aware of many of Night Vale's conspiracies for a long time after all

4)I like that Dana is learning how to communicate through time and space.
5)The people of Night Vale should protect their girls from StrexCorp!
6)I am surprised I heard this episode almost 2 years after it's premiere. Just one day of difference.

Yo, I know this is about two years late, but hell no. Do you know how unreliable a narrator Cecil really is? He takes everything that the government says as law, and this is the government that tried to convince people rabid dogs were actually plastic bags. I bet sports gambling translates to 5 bucks over which team wins the game. Cecil actually very much like Stephen before the wedding, but Stephen told him government secrets he did not want to hear.

@@franksinstein this is also late, but I LOVE the unreliable narrator style of writing. It's not about what he chooses to report (which makes him reliable to the town). Rather, it's about how he reports the news. I'd argue that Kevin is much more unreliable than Cecil, though. It's about what view is being presented to the dear listeners! Kevin's view is super warped and we don't get the truth about it until Cecil tells us about it.
(Edgar Allen Poe's "The Tell-Tale Heart" and "The Black Cat" are great examples of unreliable narrators, too.
@@luneth770 Cecil barely knew Steve before the Wedding. Cecil's whole former hate towards Steve has nothing to do with the goverment and all to do with his abadonament issues and his complicated relationship with Abby. Is 100% personal and he just uses lies and the fact that Steve tells the truth as excuses. He was from the start ready to hate Steve for "taking away his sister and niece".

They're probably just refering to the names similar baked goods would normally be referred to as, considering a lot of people might not understand if you use the real names.
Emily Armstrong They actually change the names about, When I was a girl scout Samoas where called Carmel Delights, Peanut Butter Patties are the chocolate covered ones, and I called them both by Classic Shortbread and trefoils. So in different parts of the countries and at different times These names where correct as well as the ones you call them, I still call them Caramel Delights and Peanut Butter Patties, because that's what they where when I grew up, on the box and everything. the Thin mints name never changed.
Oh and the Do-Si-Dos where called Peanut Butter sandwiches I think.... On top of that there where Animal treasures and those lemon ones but I think those where added on when I was a girl scout so eh.

+Emily Armstrong (GoneIn30Seconds) I just assumed that Night Vale had weird names for their cookies. Given that their curriculum is vastly different from what I learned in Girl Scouts, I think they're only loosely associated with the Girl Scouts of America.
Actually, there are two bakers for Girl Scouts, ABC Bakers and Little Brownie Bakers. Which baker you have depend on which service unit you're in. Our unit is going to be switching from Little Brownie, who you appear to have, to ABC bakers. They have Samoas, but they're called caramel delights. Thin mints are thin mints, but apparently have five less calories each (whoo!). By lemon cookies, he means Lemonades, which I had once with my cousin, which are arguably MUCH better than Savannah Smiles, or even the old Lemon Chalet Crèmes. I'm not sure about the classic shortbread cookies/trefoils, but other than that, there are a few other different cookies on the ABC list. So, if you will, please shut your Brownie or Cadette ass up.

My thought is that Cecil has free range to do as he pleases on the radio show but if he gets out of line Daniel or Lauren will put a knife to his throat and hand him a script and some times when he's pissed (like now) he won't read what it says. Strexcorp can,t really kill him though, they can only scar him because there isn't another Voice of Night Vale yet (and for other reasons in my head canon but that's for another comment)
I feel Carlos' pain; my last girlfriend had a bunch of cats, which I am mildly allergic to, and it is _hell_ hanging around a house that is infested with felines.

I like how the plot slowly but surely develops. this podcast was always great, but sometimes it felt like it was being weird for the sake of being weird, in my opinion. But now, when there is a clear plot line, it became incredible.

I like to imagine Cecil staring through the studio window at management whenever he's being passive aggressive about them, tapping his finger on the desk all irritated about them constantly watching him during broadcasts to make sure he's in line. Frowning, but deep down somewhat satisfied that they can't do anything about what he's saying, because it's not quite enough to warrant action on their part.
