Stupendous work you have done here. I had only 89 correct answers from 100. I don’t know whether I am A1 or A2 student. I have learnt Russian from my
father who was in Russia between 1949-1955. He taught me a lot of interesting things but he stressed out the importance of the vast Russian culture. I mean music, art, literature, art, sculpture etc.

Today is my 126th day studying Russian (at least for 5 minutes per day, some days 20 or more) and I had to guess on 5 words and didn’t know 2 at all, missing 4 in total (guessed three correctly). Pretty excited to be doing this well, but definitely needed to see most of the words to be sure. If I had been asked to state the correct answer without first seeing it, I doubt I would have scored over 20. Still, a lot of fun! Great list to practice from. Спасибо большое, Настя!

I am a Bulgarian and my vocabulary is A2 by this fact, but the grammer is not as good as my vocabulary and that is why i write in Emglish . I learned Russian back at high school as a second forigen language and I think thanks to this my dictonary is Б2 even now becouse i like to listen to Russian podacsts and news. I understand a lot of things from the context i don't care about the cases падежиТЕ, becouse i don't have Russian speakers around me and i stoped to use this grammar system after graduating high school.I stated to learn Latin in University which give me qurisousity to learn Spanish and then i started to learn hard German utill even now. I want to see how the Russian grammar work becouse that is what i do now with German and i want to do it with Russian.

I learned Russian 2000 - 2002 in the Russian cultural center in Jakarta.
I tried to read Dostoyevski and Chekov in their original language with a dictionary next to me.
    I give up....
I didn't finish Chekov novel though I had made a photocopy of it.
Russian is such a difficult language.
    1. the cases / padzesh
    2. the verbal aspects : perfective-inperfective
    3. the verb conjugation.
I like to learn foreign languages.
I speak German and got Mittelstuffe-1 Zertifikat, which is equal to B2.
But now I can only answer B1 questions satisfactorily.
    My German deteriorates.
    Now I'm learning Chinese.
    I got Hsk-3 in October 2019.
However, I still speak German better than Chinese and Russian though I don't use it anymore....
My Chinese and Russian are more or less the same.
I read Russian articles better than Chinese, but I listen to Chinese conversations better than Russian.
It's easier to read Russian compared to Chinese.

Deficiencies are a continuation of the merits and virtues a continuation of the disadvantages. If there were no cases system, then the Russian language would not have a free word order and it would become less poetic and vivid.

Russian maintain most of the ancient cases of Indo-European.
what so-called standard German / Hochdeutsch was created by Martin Luther in order to translate Bible into a language which could be understood by Germanic tribes in central Europe.
      Luther simplified the grammar.
English lost the complexities of ancient Indo-Germanic language due to their interaction with the Vikings and the conquerors from France / the Normans...
Modern Indian is so simplified compared to ancient Sanskrit, like modern Italian is much simpler than Latin....

Thanks very much for the test! I got 41 wrong but I definitely assess myself as A1 in Russian so that's ok. A few words don't strike me as words even a good A1 will know, for example "raw" and "monkey"! Surely knowing the word for monkey is more like A2 or even B1 Some of the words I got right by a process of exclusion-viz Iknew the other three so it could only be the fourth one. Let's not forget though, this test is testing passive knowledge, active knowledge will be lower for just about everyone. It is interesting to hear you say that in your experience people assess themselves higher than they are. Ihave taught English for nearly 50 years and my experience is that people at a high level tend to do that- assess themsleves higher than they are (eg B2 assessing themselves as C1) but people at a lower level tend to do the opposite, be over modest and assess themsleves weaker than they are (eg A2s saying they are A1) .

How to do I even explain? I was fluent in Russian 25 years ago... and then moved to Denmark, where Danish has replaced my Russian. (I am American). Today, I missed 4, I think, but my spelling would have been poor, had it not been multiple choice. An extreamly helpful video. Thank you for posting.

Should we only count these as being right if we can come up with the Russian word before you put the multiple choice up? There were at least 5-6 that I didn't know immediately, but once you gave us the potential options, it was clear which was the correct answer.

How many should we get right to be considered A2? Also, thank you for all the vocab and definitions, these will be great input for Anki! Keep the videos coming, your help in pronunciation is great, not to mention placing the accents in the correct place in the word. That makes you stand apart from every other Russian teacher, b/c this allows us to learn specifically how the word is pronounced, not only the spelling of it!
