I watched this live. The Rebels did well the first half. Hurricanes played nervous the first half, pushing passes too far and overthinking their scrummaging. Their lineout were poor throughout the game. Rebels' linespeed were fast, too fast that they are often offside (especially watching them live) but the ref didnt ping them (shocker). Eventually the hurricanes used the rebels' linespeed against them through baiting and quick passes on the inside.
Regardless of everything happening off the field and how much good this will do for Australian rugby, still a sad day in Melbourne. Happy the rebels ended their story on their biggest high note ever
As you know the Rebels is axed for the 2025 Super Rugby Pasifika season. So does that mean all the players that was apart of the 2024 Rebels team, now need to all split up to the other 4 Australian teams which are (The Brumbies/Waratahs/Reds and the Force) if they would like to still be in the competition?
