This looks like it would be a great kids table for large families who go camping or to the lake
That's what my family used it for.
I like the engineering on this old-school tech but with a 220 lb weight limit yea it's definitely much better suited for children here in 2024 America. To comfortably seat 4 adults this thing would have to be massive, expensive, and impractical.

I used to have one of those for my kids to sit at when camping, I think I got it at a yard sale back in the day. I forget if it broke, or my kids just got too big to sit on it comfortably anymore, but this was definitely a memory unlocked!
We've had two of these for years, they are made of plastic but we love them. Very handy on camping trips. They would be great for people who enjoy tailgating. We used to use them as the "kids table" at large family gatherings. They are a lot sturdier than they look.
We used to have a similiar foldable picnic table made by Coleman I think. It's fine for a family of four with two adults and two kids but it could get cramped space-wise for four adults especially with the bench being fixed as it is. We now have a foldable table and bring separate foldable chairs for more space and maneuverability. It's great for camping and picnics in the park, at the beach, and when you want an extra prep table when doing BBQs in the backyard.
One tip when placing a parasol in the hole is to have a stand or to tie it down because one big gust of wind and that parasol turns into a missile. What we used to do before we bought a stand was filled a plastic bag with sand or rocks and used it as weight to tie the pole to. Other than that, they're so easy to set up and fold away and take up very little space. A big recommend for people who love outdoor activities.
My late husband and I had one of these for years. It seemed pretty rickety at first, but it turned out to be a great addition to our picnics and camping trips.
This looks like it would be pretty nice for picnics / cookouts with a couple friends or family members.
Sure it's a bit flimsy but so is every folding table.
I'm curious how well it'll hold up!
Surprised you didn't get 3 other people to test how it holds all the weight. I would wanna know that before buying and using it.

I bought one yrs ago. It may seem flimsy but it's pretty sturdy. I love mine.
This instantly reminds me of my grandmother trying in vain to prepare fancy food on camping trips. I think the best use case for this is for families who like to go camping, hiking, etc, since it can be set up pretty easily and taken down with even greater ease. Probably not very useful for most people, but I definitely feel like it has a use case.
This is great to see, I have three of these from the 50's made of steel and Masonite, i still use them, one of my favorite camping things.
a wonderful trip down memory lane, camping by the river with the family. this was around forty years ago. there were 2 styles of this type that came out here in australia, way back then. an identical style but made from plastic with a later option of aluminium, and then an aluminium one that held 4 independent stools within the folded table. they were definitely a tight fit, and it was always fun to stand while your opposing seat was sitting, and the table would almost flip completely over. the later style with independant stools, was plain uncomfortable with the narrow top on the stools but they were also shorter.
I have two of those, bought from a catalog thirty years ago. They're still functional, although one has a slightly warped/melted spot on the tabletop, from setting a clambake bucket on it without a pad to insulate.

Definitely would like to see what this is like in the "a year later" revisit. I feel like it's a pretty good product for what it is, but whether or not it holds up is going to be the real question. I can easily see it being useful though for family get togethers as a "kids table" since it's so easy to open and close, and it won't take up much space being stored in a closet or somewhere in the meantime.
Brings to mind, a guy at the horse ranch invited a date out at the ranch. He had a folding table like that set up under a tree in one of the smaller pastures, picnic basket, bottle of wine, sandwiches and snacks, even had some flowers for her, looked so pretty on the table...she stood him up. Everyone felt so bad for him. He had bought the table just for the date. It was very similar to this one.
We'd bring folding chairs and TV trays on fishing or camping trips. They weren't all that sturdy but it was better than balancing a plate on your knee and putting your drink on the ground. This thing is self-contained, easy to carry, easy to store and affordable. I think it's great!
I asked you to review the folding picnic table two years ago! Finally! I bought it, tried it, and returned it because of all the plastic parts. I don’t trust it will last me but I thought the idea was cool.
My dad got one of those in the early 00s for the kids. Every birthday party you'd see a blue table just like this one and all my siblings and cousins playing around it. Good times.
I got my dad one of these for his rv when he does boondock camping. He's had it for a few years and it's still holding up.
That seems like the perfect "KID'S TABLE" option.
We purchased a table like this about 12 years ago, and I have nothing but good things to say about it. We take it in our boat for island picnics on rocky islands, dry and wet sand beaches and in woodland forests. It's much sturdier than you would think, even for 4 adults. Nothing on it has ever broken. I can't say for certain it's the same brand, and ours has aluminum slats on the top (like the seats) rather than a solid covering, but this has certainly been worth the investment for us!
We had one of these in the 80's! Slightly more plastic back then. Fun for the kids, if a bit heavy. It's funny how gadgets like this never die, they just keep coming back around again and again.

These have been around for decades! I'm almost 70 and we had one in the 60s. They haven't changed much at all!
It looks like something I _might_ carry in my car's trunk because I already use an old TV tray style folding table and chair for when I'm taking lunch while out n' about (saves having to hunt for outdoor seating or drive all the way to a city park or whatnot) but at that price it wouldn't really be upgrading my experience for that particular use.
I could see it being useful if you're waiting in a very long line (such as at a concert maybe) and you can bust it out and play cards with the person behind you in line lol
Excellent video as always, Sir!... as an avid camper this would be perfect for using at my campground... plenty of the sites have wooden picnic tables but they can be heavy and awkward to move around (albeit when I was a seasonal at my campground we had a 45ft hardbody trailer permanent site with lawn, full deck, hard awning, cable TV, free WiFi, etc) also... Hahaha, I really appreciate the attention to detail that you edit all your 2024 videos to end in :24 seconds, as you did 2023 to :23, and so-on-so-forth... brilliant! Wonder if anybody else noticed it 😅😂 Hope all is well!
We had one of those as a kid we used for camping and picnicking! Super handy! Sits 4 and packs away easily into the car!
I bought a table similar to that in the early 2000s and used it for several years when I was camping. Some of the screws came loose, but other than that it worked great. I still have it and use it occasionally. Many people purchase camping items, and related items, use them for the weekend, and then return them. They do this to as a way to get their camping gear for free. I wouldn't be surprised if this is the reason it's the most returned item.
My grandma had an old school style one of these by Coleman back in the day. But this is awesome I can see having that in a car and being able to picknic anywhere
I saw it and immediately thought, picnic date table. as for the 220 lb weight limit, if its just for two people a couple of camping chairs would do it. the clearance on the "ends" is great for 2 people. plus the built in seats(the seats that fold out) could be used to hold say the food basket, ice bucket with drinks, and a cd stereo.
I have a wooden one and it is very useful it looks flimsy but it’s more solid than it looks. Mine supports up to 300 pounds. We frequently have to drive 15 hours to my in-laws and with a kid, it is perfect !
I have one from at least 20 years ago. It is not light weight, nor that sturdy for adults. Because it was for the kids, and the meal to sit on, it was perfect for our neads.
My daughter, and my sister both have a small one similar to this. They are very convenient. They have never collapsed on anyone, not even full grown adults. Convenient for camping and also convenient for family gatherings.
We totally had one of these back in the day. Ours was made of a heaver material but the design was exactly the same. I think that making it lighter was a good idea because ours was heavy as ever but it worked great for years and years!
Should have done it with multiple people sitting down on it
Somewhere around here I have one of those. It came with our pop-up camper. It's 20 years old by now. It's a great kids table for camping or even holiday dinners. You can seat adults at it, too at a cookout or picnic, but it's a little close for full sized people. We have played cards on it while camping. It's sturdy and long lasting.
Needed this a few years ago during the no inside seating days of COVID!

My parents have one of these that's made of wood/metal, they bought it from a yard sale and it's from like the 80s or maybe older. Use it every time there's a big family event for the kids.

Our family won a plastic version of this table many years ago. We used it often and it lasted 5 or 6 years without minor repairs. It then lasted another 4 or 5 years before it gave up the ghost.
My young grandkids visit for at least a week at a time 2-3 times during the summer. We have cookouts with our neighbors 2-3 times during the summer so I purchased this for the young kids. Works great and they love it. Super easy to setup and break down. Plus doesn’t take up a lot of space in my garage. I think I paid $80 for it at Home Depot. So far holding up fine.

I remember having a collapsable table growing up. I can't remember if it had seats attached but I seem to remember that it did. This would be great for camping or to have on hand for family get-togethers. Would be great for kids. Could take it to the park, etc. I do agree though, it's a pretty big "suitcase".
I had one 15 years ago that I bought as clearance from an outlet mall, except it was mostly plastic. We used to called it the "James Bond Table" because the way it unfolded felt like something Q would give Bond. It was fine as a "we need an extra table" solution, but not something you could use every day. We mostly used it when camping. Eventually, the plastic pieces started to break and fail, so we threw it away.
Freakin' Reviews , Oh the nostalgia. My mom bought one of these decades ago for when we go camping; mainly at Pfeiffer Big Sur, then Big Basin and San Clemente. It was made of very different materials, was considerably heavier and did not have the hole dor the umbrella.
I think it would be perfect for kids riding in a RV adults stop for a meal they can have there space the kids have there own table

My dad helped design a table just like this back in the late 70s? I remember us having one.
I just talked to my dad and HE actually did all the drawings for it! It was called "Sit-Sat" and we had one. He doesn't know if the guy ever got a patent. But the seats were round.

I used to have one of these while camping ping when my kids were young. It held up very well and it was very practical when there were no actual picnic tables. Those have been around for a long time.
We had one bought by my Dad in the early 1960s that was pretty much the same design, but made of all aluminum. People always used to ask where we got it when we went to the forest preserves or beaches.

We hand a couple of them for the boy scout troop. They didn't have the aluminum components, all plastic. Not quite robust enough for boys rough "sitting" but I think if treating more reasonably they would have lasted longer. One was broken first night of camp, second one lasted for I think 3 camp outing and it was broken as well. Again I think only due to rough handling. Great review as usual. Thank you!
Grew up here in Hawaii and my dad had one of these that we would always take with us during beach trips and picnics. I think his was a green Coleman one tho, that thing was honestly durable af. Lasted all throughout my childhood and I think he still has it in the shed somewhere and I’m 33 now lol
I have the exact same suitcase table, only an older model, and most of it is made out of plastic. It looks and feels flimsy when setting it up. But when it is fully opened, it's quite sturdy. And holds 4 people 🙂.
And it is blue colored.
I can recommend buying them when going camping.

My mom used to have one of these that was almost all plastic except the legs. It wasn't the most sturdy thing but it had some utility at least. This one looks a good bit nice.
I started to comment that I've had the same table for years, but mine has 4 separate chairs inside, instead of being a picnic table, which makes more sense. So there table itself has legs, plus 4 little half chairs. You should try it. It's the same size, same material, but the table is more sturdy and you can move the chairs to wherever
we had a 1960s or 70s version of this and it worked great.
I had something similar back in the early 2000's. The one I had was entirely plastic except for the legs and connecting arms, and if I remember correctly, it failed because one of the tubular aluminum legs bent and cracked. I like the way this one looks - the aluminum and top gives it a "vintage kitchen table" vibe. It seems a bit pricey, though I'd be willing to pay a bit more if the plastic parts were made from cast aluminum and it was a bit more sturdy.

Our family had a table like this when I was growing up in the 60s.
It was made from steel and plywood. It went on many a picnic or holiday.
Aluminium frame would definitely weigh less.
We have had these sorts of tables for years. Ours was made of wood when I was a kids (I am almost 50yrs old) and we still have it. These aluminium ones don't last long. I am in Australia 🇦🇺

I have one from the early 80’s. This design has been around a long time. Ours is green plastic and not aluminum. It is not super sturdy, but it works.

We set this up for the kids at large family gatherings. Works great!
My grandparents had one of these tables they were made in South Africa so they were great for a home Braai (BBQ) or camping especially for children to use becauseit was easy to set up. But the version we had was made from very strong ABS plastic and quite stable.
I had a vintage one. Loved it just didn't use it much.

You have the quick kids table. Would be great for family camps where there are many kids. Just have them use the smaller table.
At first thought, it is a good idea. However, as it is a bit shaky, I fear that after several uses, the aluminum will bend. This picnic table would maybe best suit the weight of children. In order to hold a table cloth on the table, use picnic table clips, and cut a hole in the centre for the umbrella. I also think the price is a little too high.
I would say it could be nice for the holidays or Sunday dinners if you have a lot of little ones or just chucking the kiddos outside for fingerpainting or something.

I had the same thing basically, but it was all plastic and made by Coleman. I got it for 10 bucks at a thrift store. It lasted about 4 uses of varying intensity before it started to crack and become unusable. It is a good idea if a company could figure out how to make it sturdier. Maybe all metal or titanium parts or something 🤷♀️

I bought one years ago for my fifth wheel. Used it once then in the shed. I found it while clearing out unused stuff. Donated it to charity.
Would have liked to see more than just you using it. Most of us would be having our family use it with us!

My family has had and used one of these for nearly twenty years. None of us weighs 200 pounds though. We use it during the summers in Washington and do enjoy it. You're right, not very sturdy. An umbrella is useful during hot days. If you take care of it and dont bang it around it will last for decades I think.
Seems like a nice portable picnic table. To solve the flimsiness they might want to add a cross brace or 2, the outer parts not only connected through table top is what causes the flimsiness.

My mum bought a product like this 30 years ago! Used it while camping in France for three summers in a row! She says it looks the same as it did back then
Kind of reminds me of a joke/scene in the movie Brain Donors (1991) The three main guys (John Tuturro, Mel Smith, and Bob Nelson) agree to work together. Smith tells Nelson to draw up a contract. Nelson takes a chain then pulls a bulky 90s laptop out from his trenchcoat. Flips out a panel from underneath then pulls out the sides, then another set from underneath again then this becomes a table. His pulls a small box on one side up and it becomes a large printer. Then a box on the other side becomes a full size crt monitor. Then an LED stock ticker in back. Then he pulls out an inflatable doll and starts typing. Smith says to Tuturro "We got years to go before we come even close to the Japanese."
