    I remember when Zelensky was ready to Negotiate with Putin and avoid the war until Boris Johnson rushed over there and told him not to
    As usual it’s only a matter of time before the west throws zelensky and Ukraine under the bus and moves on to another conflict somewhere else

      Sorry the general was not that convincing. And we are not idiots if we remain sceptical thanks very much Andrew.
      Sometimes the carefully crafted propaganda narrative slips into hyperbole and then we glimpse the man behind the curtain.

They are pompous fools hanging onto America's coat tails. Sick and tired of them all. Increasing reports of surrendering and fleeing Ukrainian troops is symbolic of the outcome of this war and the west is in panic mode. You see from the failure to implement the Minsk accords to the scuppering of the Istanbul agreement, the west has rejected peace. Now after all the death, destruction and indeed de-industrialisation of Europe these same actors are ramping up the pressure on Ukraine to negotiate. How perverse is that.

If they actually believed the Offensive could have pushed the Russians out of the Donetsk, and instead they advanced 10 km across the broad front ....this disparity between plans and reality would have gotten the entire military intelligence community of the West to be sacked !!!

    All that Putin needs, what he dreams of, he openly expressed in his famous Munich speech on February 10, 2007, in which he declared that Russia would be a free sovereign country, an honest friend to its neighbors and partners overseas. But at the same time in Munich this was perceived as a rebellion against the “Washington world order.” In that world order, there were only three types of countries: the United States itself, the vassals of the United States, and the countries bombed by the United States in the Stone Age. After this speech, Putin was labeled a crazy despot, as he is still considered in the West. And he only honestly and systematically defends the postulates that he stated then.

      @@lfarrell6375 What's wrong? Everything that happens is natural. Everyone gets what they deserve. In the late nineties, NATO began to expand eastward, and naturally this caused concern among the Russian military-political elite. I think this is one of the reasons why the military-power bloc promoted Putin into President Yeltsin’s entourage and subsequently brought him to power. Before this, Russia was ruled by oligarchs. At the very beginning of the 2000s, Putin voiced the concerns of the Russian elites regarding the expansion of NATO and proposed the simplest solution to the problem through Russia’s accession to NATO. This would immediately relieve tensions in relations, calm Russia’s military elites, and NATO would have the country at its disposal with the most powerful nuclear arsenal and gain maximum “transparency” of Russian domestic and foreign policy. After President Putin, President Medvedev asked to join NATO; at that time he professed radical liberal values and was as loyal to the West as possible. But his request was also refused. After such a refusal, it became obvious that NATO expansion was directly anti-Russian. Putin’s Munich speech was precisely a reaction to the refusal to accept Russia into NATO. After Putin’s Munich “revolt,” NATO began to actively look for new members and started with Ukraine and Georgia. Everyone understood perfectly well that joining a military Alliance hostile to Russia was a clearly unfriendly gesture, but no one took Russia seriously at that time, especially in military terms; everyone was confident that everything would happen as the Great USA wanted. Therefore, both Ukraine and Georgia were going to join NATO not for their own protection, but in order to be on the team of those who would tear Russia apart and get rich by gnawing on its bones. The political elites of Poland, Ukraine and the Baltic countries in those years openly spoke out on this matter, all you need to do is just search, the Internet remembers everything. After the Georgian army was defeated in a few days during the “Olympic War” on 08/08/08, plans for Ukraine and Georgia to join NATO were put on pause. They decided to overthrow Russia due to the Orange revolutions within it and in the states adjacent to it. Since 2008, hundreds of hostile steps have been taken against Russia, and Russia has accumulated a very large “list of grievances” that require revenge. Therefore, do not be surprised at the schadenfreude of Russians observing the collapse of the European economy, especially their sworn “friends” in Britain and Germany, the socio-economic devastation in the Baltic countries, the crisis of the military-political impotence of the United States. In its immense arrogance, the US has tried to bite off more than it can chew. If Russia were now in NATO, the world would look completely different, the problem of China would simply not exist for the United States. At the current stage, with its independent existence, Russia ensures China's nuclear security. As in many Westerns, a duel between three cowboys ends with the first two to draw their weapons becoming victims not only of each other, but also of the third who shoots last, a mutual nuclear war between the United States and China will leave both defenseless against a possible finishing blow from Russia. At least the United States, if it were in Russia's place, would do this. Therefore, without destroying Russia as an independent player, they will never start a nuclear war with China, even having a colossal superiority over it in nuclear weapons. The problem for Ukraine is that it believed Western promises that the entire Western world was ready to fight for Ukraine, together with it. And when it came down to it, as usual, there were no takers.

      @unbridled_rage Před 6 měsíci +2

      Well, look, any war has its own specific declared and not so declared goals, right? Any war is waged with the aim of achieving these goals at least partially. Now please answer me, what specific goal has the army of the Russian Federation fulfilled, officially declared by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation or personally by Vladimir Putin?
      I’m almost sure that you won’t name a single goal other than one invented based on personal logic. Because they simply have not been achieved, and will not be achieved for years if the current pace of combat operations is maintained, and while at least half of the military resources are preserved.
      Two years of active front-line battles on the steppe terrain with such intensity of hostilities is a huge period of time, for example, the Second World War, in which a huge number of countries with enormous resources participated, lasted only 5-6 years and as a result were exhausted to the limit, including the United States .
      So, in this case, what makes you talk with such cynicism about who will win this war and how obvious it is, hm?
      The United States had nuclear weapons and colossal economic superiority in both the war in Afghanistan and the war in Vietnam, it lost both. The USSR had colossal economic and military superiority and lost the war in Finland and Afghanistan (nuclear weapons were already present in this war).
      For the United States, Russia was, is and will be one of the key enemies that sooner or later they will have to face directly or indirectly, so why not use such an excellent opportunity to critically weaken this threat, and not talk about how Ukraine is doomed and cannot do anything?
      Ukraine has already proven more than once with its own efforts that it is not a matter of three days or three months to subjugate and capture it. What is stopping the United States from helping this country win?
      The United States spends less than 5% of its defense budget and is already tightly holding back its sworn enemy, imagine what will happen when the United States spends not 5 but 10% of the budget?
