  • This was a great morning of flying. Got in my 3rd and 4th turbine flights. Unfortunately, one of my L39's went down. It was an engine failure but not due to the airplane. The plane was a good quality and the engine was a jetfan 110 that I installed to have a bit more power. I recognized the issue too late and stalled the airplane and she went in. Thanks for watching and stay tuned for more turbine action!!!!!

Sorry man, that sucks. I've got one still in the box, thinking of putting a JP 105mm in mine. "Keep Flying"...✌

Sorry to see the EDF didn’t come in safe. I’d like to ask if your turbine version uses the stock brake controller that came with the kit, or did you upgrade it to some other brand of brake controller? My L-39 is having a really hard time slowing it down after touched down with the Assan AG-63 powered by a 2S pack. Thank you.

My turbine is using the stock brake controller. Mine slows really good. I also have an assan Ag-63 in an eflite viper and that works good too. Hope you figure that out and wish I had some better feedback. Good luck with it and thanks for watching.

@@adventuresmidwest3065Thank you for your reply. We have a 750 feet runway at our field here and it overshoot the entire thing and into the grass area past it. Hopefully I can figure it out without having to replace the entire braking system.

I fly off an 800’ runway and most times I’m stopped about 2/3 of the way down. I think you can adjust the amount of braking on the assan. My hsd stuff has the mfc controller that you can adjust braking and brake differential. I’m a bit ignorant on the assan because I bought it from a guy that had it all setup so I didn’t have to program it. It can be frustrating but keep at it and you’ll figure it out.

@@adventuresmidwest3065. The Assan 63 is proportional, but only to the min and max output of the TX has. I’ve tried both with 2S and 3S pack. Seems to be similar in braking power at max. However, I’ve only test the 3S pack with pushing the model as fast as I could down a decline driveway many times. The speed will more likely slower than what a landing speed would be, but I think I can judge if it has adequate braking force or not. Will see how it goes with the next flights.

What motor and kv? Did it burn up?

I got an het 700-98-780. Still not sure what actually happened but I do not think it was the fan motor assembly fault. I had this combo in a super viper and it had somewhere in the neighborhood of 125 flights. Then I put it in this plane and it had at least as many flights. I bought another unit and it is going strong. It’s a very nice combo for 105mm airframes. Thanks for checking out the vid.

@@adventuresmidwest3065 okay I am running a Jetfan Pro 110mm with 700-98-840kv het motor in my AF t-45.seems like a good setup.i have 2 flights on it.many more to come hopefully 🙂

@@sendit_rc you will love it. It’s a very powerful setup and will be plenty of thrust for that airframe.
