Solo sailing to the atol Fakarava in the Tuamotus part of French Polynesia - Ep. 196

Fakarava is called The Island of Dreams. Fakarava is Mother Nature's ultimate sanctuary. This protected coral atoll is a natural reserve for many rare species of birds, plants and crustaceans. Just as these exotic creatures have discovered their safe haven, you too can find refuge here. I think that is why a couple of resorts are on the east side of this atol. The funny thing is they don't have a blowdryer for your hair, because they don't have enough energy for that and suggest you dry your hair in the wind. That is what I do and I love it. Back to basic.
Going into the south Pass was very exiting. I als go diving in Fakarava South pass, where 700 sharks swim. I dive on the wall of sharks.

Prachtig, weer heerlijk genoten. Goed stuke zeilen / moteren door de pass. Ook de dronebeelden geven een goed beeld van waar je bent, wat een blauwe kleur zee, en zo zien wij ook nog wat van het eiland van boven.
En dan die ervaring met de haaien, grandioos, mooie herinnering voor later.
Maar uhhhh wat is dat vierkanten "mandje" wat ol de achterstaag hangt als je aan het zeilen bent. Heb het al vaker gezien. Enjoy.

Ja Fakarava was magisch. Fijn dat je kan meegenieten idd. Het 'mandje' aan de achterstag is een solar lampje. Inmiddels heb ik er twee. Die laad ik overdag buiten op en gebruik ik 's avonds binnen.

Fantastisch. What a beautifull experience. The water sooo clear and full of fish. I’ve never seen that many sharks together. Are you sure you want to sail further or just stay as long as you like ??
