I just find Sneako's feigned confusion to be humorous. Clearly the concept of the triune God has been articulated. He's not trying to understand it, he seems compelled to reject it. Seraphim rose, your mere presence and peacefulness is not going to convince people that Christ is the Truth. From my personal research, Islam is growing quickly for the following reasons: 1) self-hating trend of the western world feeling bad for it's colonial past when Christianity was strong 2) Christian countries became secular and the influence of religion weakened especially with scandals involving abuse of authority 3) Some Muslim countries (not all) have higher birth rates because of multiple reasons including lower level of women liberalization, lower standard of living 4) Related to the secularism point above, Christian countries have mostly divorced religion and politics and does not shame or punish apostates (maybe excommunication but then again those who left would not care) whereas Muslim countries especially those who have stronger forms of Sharia law have the death penalty on apostates. There is also Jizya tax and even if they can allow a separate court system for other religions, in a case of Muslim vs non-muslim in an Islamic court, Muslims always favored by the way the Sharia law was written. These are strong incentives for people in Muslim countries to revert and strong disincentives to leaving Islam.
In other words, Islam has a better membership growth and retention strategy despite being more akin to bullying, peer pressure, and social shaming. Whereas other religions have become optional and left to personal decisions to adhere or leave.

One of my colleagues is Iranian and he is secretly ex-Muslim. He only confided in me when he found out I am a Christian. He keeps it a secret that he left Islam years and years ago, out of fear that he will be killed by his cousins. He said he's an atheist. He would ask me questions about Jesus and I would answer him backed by scripture. Then he told me he attended Easter Sunday service out of curiosity and days after, has accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior! Hallelujah! Never give up on the Muslims that you know! If you want to learn more a out religion. I advise you to read into religion yourself and speaking or learning from more knowledgeable people. Debate channels are a horrible place to learn from because they can spread alot of misinformation in a form of mockery. Actually I think that debate between Sneako and the Orthodox guy was not very helpful at all. First of all Sneako's not a philosopher, he even says very clearly in the video - "The reason I left Christianity is because I've never heard an answer that makes sense TO ME". The Ortho guy just spews a bunch of high level, hard to understand, dogmatic definitions with "insider" language. Why go that route? It would be way more useful to make some good analogies, go full Pageau mode and show how the multiplicity/unity can be observed everywhere. I think just dumping a bunch of philosophical definitions on a simple guy and then essentially calling him too dumb to understand it is counterproductive. Make it understandable TO HIM and maybe he'll change his mind.

First: Altering with the tongue is not corrupting the written documents.... Third Mistake a lot of these portrayal of God comes from Hadiths, now if you put weight on the Hadiths well you gonna go on a massive Rabbit hole cause Hadiths are just like canonical and non canonical gospels. Hadiths are the reason we have sects like Shia or Sunni and so on. What the Quran says is that God is out of our imagination, and that we shouldn’t even try to get close to imagine him, why? Seraphim rose, your mere presence and peacefulness is not going to convince people that Christ is the Truth. From my personal research, Islam is growing quickly for the following reasons:
1) self-hating trend of the western world feeling bad for it's colonial past when Christianity was strong
2) Christian countries became secular and the influence of religion weakened especially with scandals involving abuse of authority
3) Some Muslim countries (not all) have higher birth rates because of multiple reasons including lower level of women liberalization, lower standard of living
4) Related to the secularism point above, Christian countries have mostly divorced religion and politics and does not shame or punish apostates (maybe excommunication but then again those who left would not care) whereas Muslim countries especially those who have stronger forms of Sharia law have the death penalty on apostates. There is also Jizya tax and even if they can allow a separate court system for other religions, in a case of Muslim vs non-muslim in an Islamic court, Muslims always favored by the way the Sharia law was written. These are strong incentives for people in Muslim countries to revert and strong disincentives to leaving Islam.
In other words, Islam has a better membership growth and retention strategy despite being more akin to bullying, peer pressure, and social shaming. Whereas other religions have become optional and left to personal decisions to adhere or leave.

Another point is that (in the West) Islam is a pet religion of the radical left and are treated as allies; whereas Christianity is attacked. This is tangential and maybe minor, but the fact that a strong cultural/political ideological trend helps Islam where it can, while attacking Christianity, can only be a benefit.
It likely peoduces an effect similar to how many people who identify as atheists and don't like Christianity will nonetheless latch onto eastern religious concepts and symbols from Buddhism and Hinduism. Actually I think that debate between Sneako and the Orthodox guy was not very helpful at all. First of all Sneako's not a philosopher, he even says very clearly in the video - "The reason I left Christianity is because I've never heard an answer that makes sense TO ME". The Ortho guy just spews a bunch of high level, hard to understand, dogmatic definitions with "insider" language. Why go that route? It would be way more useful to make some good analogies, go full Pageau mode and show how the multiplicity/unity can be observed everywhere.
I think just dumping a bunch of philosophical definitions on a simple guy and then essentially calling him too dumb to understand it is counterproductive. Make it understandable TO HIM and maybe he'll change his mind.
I can see your point though, Pageau's breakdown/approach would require a 1 on 1 conversation where there is no other Muslim around interrupting and definitely not at speakers corner.
At speakers corner, high level debate is a thing. Truth is, to your point, Sneako shouldn't be at speakers corner at all.

Quran is a fully copied book from Bible and torah, the worst part is they don't even get a right Bible to copy!!! Everything mention in the Quran is incorrect, in fact most of the verse from Quran are from gnostic Bible, Christian hymns and poems, Jews songs and poems and some of them are from Ancient non religious book.
They collected all these pieces of books circulating in Arabia during 3th or 4th or 5th century AD and claims its a final revelation from Allah, which is hilarious!!! Its funny!!

hello kyle, muslim here, this is the first video i've seen on your channel and 15 minutes into the video i had to stop and write a comment because most of what you said about islam is either misrepresented or actually wrong, some parts were true but sadly they were presented in form of mockery and honestly that shows insincerity on your part. some of what you got wrong here is the meaning of muslim, a muslim is someone who submit himself to god, and when we say that jesus and moses and the other prophets where muslims we mean that they submitted themselves to only god, these prophets may have had different laws, laws that we may not have today as muslims, so they may have different forms of prayer or different times of prayer but they're still muslim and this why we say that jesus was muslim, we don't say it because he prostrated like we do. another example is when you said that the quran doesn't say that the bible is corrupted, this basically shows that you don't really understand the quran, because in many verses god says that the people of the book alter the scripture, one example is ﴿وَإِنَّ مِنهُم لَفَريقًا يَلوونَ أَلسِنَتَهُم بِالكِتابِ لِتَحسَبوهُ مِنَ الكِتابِ وَما هُوَ مِنَ الكِتابِ وَيَقولونَ هُوَ مِن عِندِ اللَّهِ وَما هُوَ مِن عِندِ اللَّهِ وَيَقولونَ عَلَى اللَّهِ الكَذِبَ وَهُم يَعلَمونَ﴾ [آل عمران: ٧٨]

First: Altering with the tongue is not corrupting the written documents....

Altering with the tongue would be misquoting and twisting the scripture in speech.
Second: Jesus did not pray like a muslim, because He prayed to The Father, and muslims say by no means can allah be a father.
Moses spoke face to face with The Son on the mountain, so again you lose a point.

My family is catholic and I’m interested in Orthodoxy, but I find a lack of churches in Ok/TX region
OKC has St. Elias Antiochian Orthodox Church. There's also good Churches in Tulsa.
There are a fair amount of Orthodox Churches in Texas. Houston, and Dallas have a bit.
Even if the church is two hours away you should still go, I did that for 2 years, not every week but at least in the beginning

Blame Sunnis for the current state of Muslims. Muslims, not Islam, the religion is perfect, our followers aren't. This may be a good example to use to show how divided Islam is, but you and I both know that I'm not wrong.

Also another mistake yet again, first Jesus was Muslim as in he submitted to the will of God, now you might say he is God so he is not Muslim cause he can’t pray to himself, which case you going against ur Bible cause Jesus literally prayed before getting arrested, so he did pray hence he submitted to the will of God (hence why in the gospels well some btw cause one actually says Jesus was screaming God God pls why did he abandon me (I think Mark) it seems Jesus fullfilled the will of God). Now what Islam doesn’t do is tell what happened to the death of Jesus. All it says is that it appeared to be so, again is not saying that it didn’t happen, is saying that it appeared to be so hence why people misunderstood it. And again there isn’t much evidence against this statement as well as any evidence for this statement, what reality is, is that there isn’t any concrete evidence on both cases. One thing was true, there were a group of early Christians that did not believe Jesus resurrected as God (I advise to watch Blogging Theology which talks about it, is not an evidence for Islam but is clearly a problem for the concept of trinitarianism and proof that trinitarianism is not the first and only school of thought on Christianity)
Third Mistake a lot of these portrayal of God comes from Hadiths, now if you put weight on the Hadiths well you gonna go on a massive Rabbit hole cause Hadiths are just like canonical and non canonical gospels. Hadiths are the reason we have sects like Shia or Sunni and so on. What the Quran says is that God is out of our imagination, and that we shouldn’t even try to get close to imagine him, why? Well one cause can be To stop creating idols, the same concept prophet Abraham in Both Quran and Torah was fighting against? The same Abraham that was calling for one God…

And about the gnostic side, yes while the Quran has said that no one cannot imagine Allah, the Quran doesn’t only speak about that. It speaks about many other prophets, it speaks about people, relationships, sort of a guidebook, sort of a objective morality that people use. So no is not that the Quran has nothing and no again just cause Allah says we cannot imagine him or understand him he does not say we cannot understand what he created, ie he does not say we cannot understand his words. But is not that Dogs are Haram… no animal is haram, all animals are creatures from God. And the Quran if anything says the other way around, respect animals, treat them nice. Talking about the liturgy thing all it took me was googling Jewish liturgies to see that their prayers are identical to Islam, they just read the Torah, same way Christian read the Bible same way Muslims recite the Quran. The only difference is the altar which btw a Christian altar has completely different meaning and usage to a Jewish one so if you wanna go argue about that one then you free to argue about why Jewish are wrong, but again is not a massive difference (the altar in itself)idk maybe u do which fair enough is ur opinion so u should defend it, just don’t add non sense to this video.
