    Outstanding. Thank you. Same issue, dead display panel. Tested power, good. Tested control board, pump ran. Display even came back up during first test momentarily but went dead again. Thanks!

    Thank you. I had no power at the board. Wire nut fell off on the power supply. All fixed and $650 saved.

    Great Information! This fixed mine.The secrete was in diagnosing whether it is circuit board or button panel. Never would have known which without you. Thanks so much.

    Thank you for this video! My whirlpool ended up having a charred wire nut. I had no power at the control panel or board. Traced the power down to the bottom aluminum pane and viola there it was.

    Had this peoblem last week. In my case, the wire from the control panel to the board was loose at the control panel and wouldn't stay in place. I was able to take it off and plug it back in backwards, moving the loose end to the board, where gravity doesn't effect it as much, and it did the trick. I think the one end may have been damaged by people slamming the door shut.

    The control board test statement was fantastic. Thank you for pointing that out.

    In my case, it was the control board that was broken. I believed it was this because I knew the D/W had power and I tried the control board test as shown here and it failed. Thanks for the helpful video!

    So basically, as with all modern appliances it's a piece of total shit. Mine is 2 yrs old and already this shit is happening! My previous dishwasher from the late 80s had no issue for over 30 yrs and my new Whirlpool is already fk'd up. I don't have the tools to fix this piece of shit.

    I have this problem and when I did the board test no pump came on supposedly meaning the board is bad, I replaced the board and still have no power to the panel. Therma fuse shows continuity, and there is power coming from the breaker and no loose wires. Made a bridge to bypass the door switch, still nothing. Suggestions?

    How did you test it to know its the control panel? Thats not explained in your video.

  • @JGIR31

    This is very complicated to the lay person. I also see comments that people followed all the instructions and it is still not working. Sounds like I should get a repairman because it will save me a LOT of time.

    Weird: I tried the test, and I didn't hear the pump, so I replaced the circuit board with a part from a local walk-in appliance parts warehouse. My dishwasher now works, but on a whim I re-tried the test (insert power plug in with door open, wait 10s, close door) and didn't hear the pump with the working board. The new board was $111 and they said it was 3rd party, despite it looking identical (plastic molding, color, everything). Even though I got the fix i needed, I'm dubious about the test. Either I didn't get lucky and the old circuit board was diagnosed correctly with this method, or neither board does the test and I got lucky. Either way, I know this board won't do the pump test, and I can't use this method in the future (in my situation).

       @BeardedApplianceRepair Uh oh! (advice welcome!!!) - I just went to check on it (I let it do a cycle as a test). When i opened the door it was steamy. There was a puddle on the bottom. I thought maybe there's something that needed cleaning but then i noticed the control panel was unresponsive (no buttons would turn on the screen again). I'm worried whatever fried the previous board has fried this one now.

    Would a broken door latch cause a dead "no lights" touchpad? I have a 2018 Whirlpool Model WDTA50SAHV0

  • @clownindan
    @clownindan Před 2 lety

    I have this exact model but i think it might be the control panel or something else. Ordered the user control without checking it all first and it didn't fix it.

    • @BeardedApplianceRepair
      @BeardedApplianceRepair  Před 3 lety

      I would do it a few times before you give up. You have to get the timing right. You can verify by lookin gat the tech sheet behind the kick plate. The test should be listed somewhere in that mumbo jumbo lol. Also make sure the dishwasher has power.

    I didn't see the other video about the how to troubleshoot the same issue with a on a touchscreen dishwasher in the description like you mentioned. Is this it? czcams.com/video/uDOten4PcAY/video.html If so, it looks like it has the same style of touchpad as the dishwasher in this video.
