There's a simple answer to scanning 35mm film - Don't use a flatbed scanner. I use a copy stand & re-shoot the negs & positives - getting thru' a 36 exposure roll in about five minutes; another twenty five to forty five minutes to transition same in GIMP- nice, clean images, no preamble....it's not rocket science, Christoph.

Loved my F-3! The waist level finder was good for taking mushroom photos. Did lots of long exposures with Fuji Velvia. Wonderful camera body.....

don't wait on the scanner just get a lightbox and do dslr scanning with a macro lens, better quality and no wait
