RVing with kids? We think St. Augustine has something for everybody! We visit Castillo de San Marcos, explore the historic district, tour the Pirate and Treasure Museum, and climb to the top of the lighthouse.

Hensley is such a good little big sister, holding JJ's hand through all those exhibits. Nice to see your comments back!
I just saw a recent video on a castle. It's called Solomon's Castle and it's south of Bradenton. Since Florida isn't that wide it wouldn't be far for you if you go south at all. My son and daughter-in-law lived in Bradenton years ago and if we would've known it was there we definitely would have visited it. The kids would love it and I'm sure you both would love it too. This was one man's dream and he built it with his own two hands. He's a woodcrafter and has all sorts of hobbies that he has on display. They have a restaurant there, a pirate ship he designed and built and just all kinds of things to see. It was originally built on a swamp. I guess it isn't on the main road but back a long lane on the property. It just looks like a really neat place to visit off the beaten path.
Ha, ha - Nathan asking JJ if he was a pirate and JJ responded very quickly that "No, I JJ!" Priceless!
JJ entertains us all the time. 😀
Never been there BUT now definately on our Bucket list!!! Kids have gotten so BIG!!! It reminds me of our kids when they were those ages, now they have they're own kids (Family)... LOVES/HUGS to ALL
Impressed with JJ-people say you can’t take little kids sightseeing, but you’re proving them wrong! Of course Hensley was great as usual. You’re doing a great job, Mom and Dad!
Thank you so much.
A pirates favorite color is GOLD .
😂😂😂
I visited in October for the first time, it was a wonderful day. Started with putt-putt, visited LaLeche shrine think place first Catholic mass, went to cathedral and they were having Eucharist adoration. Went by fountain of youth and lighthouse. Tried go grilled cheese shop they were remodeling. Headed out with drive on beach in light rain, all magical
Our favorite city!!! We go at least once a year and we’re engaged there!!!
Go to the Marine Rehab south of Daytona Beach, very fun for the kids. It’s all the way down A1A south of Daytona
I love watching your viteos . I am a camper to, I have a older toy hawler. I pull it all by myself . hook it up and unhook it too all myself. love it and love being out in the open air.. really miss it in the winter months. I think your wife is so beauitful…
That is awesome, thank you.
We love the historic significance of this beautiful city! The Fountain of Youth was fun!
So beautiful 😍
Lived in St Augustine for 5 years and my son still lives there. It’s really grown a lot, but the food choices now are incredible. It’s gotten too expensive to live there (I stay with my son when I visit) but I truly enjoy visiting when I can. Love seeing Hensley and JJ getting a chance to see all the fun stuff. Love seeing you two enjoying yourselves too!
Thanks for sharing!
Can confirm haha superb food, yet so expensive to live here.
As a resident of St Johns county, St Augustine is my favorite place. That is not the original Bridge of Lions. It was recently expanded and redone. The old one was two lanes and very old. I highly recommend the lights for the holidays. You guys are so close to me!!! Enjoy your stay.
Thanks for the info!
Hello there wow a great place to learn our history . Its nice to see you guys getting out and enjoying the outdoors . Can't believe how big your kids got. Love J J. Hair cut so handsome little boy. Love the way His sister holds JJ hands so cute. Love your sweet family 👪 God bless you and your family safe travels out there on the roads. Take care like they. Say. Happy Trails 👣
Thanks 👍
National Park pass is great. My bride ( of 34 yrs. ) and yes she is still and will always be called my bride got a lifetime pass. We went on a month long road trip this past Oct. around the east coast and has already paid for itself. Last stop we did was Shenandoah Valley. Had our pass hanging on the mirror and the rangers told us to get in center line where nobody was at and don't stop just drive strait thru. Entry cost was $ 30.00 dollars for everybody else. We would have been in line for at least 20 minutes otherwise. Beautiful drive even if you have to pay. Lifetime pass for 62 or older, otherwise plan your trip to see if it is cost effective for you for the yearly pass of $80.00. But it can be a big time saver at the park, some lines can get very long.
We love our park pass.
Thanks for sharing you all. Hensley is such good big sister. Those are special memories that she will have.
@LessJunk,More Journey so a cool fact from a Native Floridian is at my elementary school we did a field trip to St Augustine and spent a whole day there when we were in 4th grade in 2006
Beautiful! Love St Augustine.
JJ is growing up so fast! Thanks for sharing!
I know!! Thank you.
We did Flagler beach two falls ago. St Augustine was the highlight of the trip for my kids. We visited the chocolate factory 😂
Hello Saylor how are you doing?
We did a quick 2 night stop in St Augustine on our way home from Key West. It wasn't enough time to do it justice, its such a beautiful city! We'll be back someday.
What kind of socks does a pirate wear?
Arrrrgyle 😄
What is a pirate's favorite letter?
The "C"
We loved St. Augustine! Our boys always loved the fort.
So enjoyable seeing this. Thank you!
Looks like a great place and love the history. Can't believe how grown up JJ is now and Hensley is so sweet natured. Take care all. ❤🇬🇧
Great video, love St. Augustine.
Great to see you folks again. Sparky / PP.
I live here and commend you on having done your homework. Thank you for the enthusiasm and love you conveyed to your viewers about this city we all love. Enjoy your stay and come back soon!
You are so welcome and thank you.
You are awesome travelers! I love your family!
I agree, St. Augustine is top on my Favorite List, THANK YOU for sharing
Hello Janet how are you doing?
Its one of the places I explored in Florida . Love it there
St. Augustine seems to be a nice place.
Lots of things to see and a light house to climb. Nice that you girls climbed the lighthouse and the boys did a father and son thing. Glad you had great weather.
Hope you have a great night and week and weekend and see you soon!
I’m working in Guam right now and want to thank you for this video. So nice to see my home ❤️❤️
Our pleasure 😊. Guam sounds like an interesting adventure.
YOU GUYS ARE HAVING A BLAST ON THIS TRIP
We loved St. Augustine. Went there when oldest was JJ's age. Remember that pirate's museum and an alligator farm which was really cool!
Okay . . the Pirate jokes put me over the edge! Love this video, as much for your telling the story of your visit as your observations of St. Augustine. St. Augustine is one of my most favorite cities in the USA, and there are SO many things to do in the city, throughout the year, that no matter when my out-of-state family members decide to visit, I end up dragging them up to St. Augustine for a day or two. Thank you all for sharing your Journey.
This is our favorite city to visit in Florida!
Love your family. Looking forward to following you in 2022. Blessings for a fabulous coming year.
Thank you so much for following along with us!
Ahhh, good video. Really enjoyed it. Thank you. Blessings
We are proud and excited to be part of team journey. Cant wait to see more and embrace 2022
Thank you so much friends! Y’all are such a huge part of what keeps this channel producing content and providing community ❤️
On our way to St. Augustine in two weeks. We will be spending 4 months there in our rv close to our daughter and her family. We've been going there since 2007, always enjoy Old St. Augustine. We still find new things when we visit. Enjoyed you video. Safe travels.
Beautiful!
Thank you!
HAPPY NEW YEAR 2022
Awww, you were in our town! Glad you had a great visit!
Welcome to our neck of the woods! Glad you’re loving it.
JJ & Hensley growing up so fast 💖
Thinking about you guys for the last two days I was very charmed to know that you guys are up there enjoying yourself I am working my butt off down here in my husband lawyers office! Smile! It’s just good to know that you’re in the FLA.
I like how you filmed that Lighthouse thing but I was more for the reality check of this was what it really really really like.it was not easy and I was very out of shape dotand I was in my early 50s late 40s when I did it I’m in my late 50s now.
Hello Jeanne how are you doing?
St. Augustine is my favorite place and I live a little over an hour away. They used to have a movie in the fort all about St. Augustine that was so cool. Have fun.
Your kids are adorable😁
Looks like a great place to go and roam around for a few days. We love casually exploring through history. I feel the same way about walking in places where there is so much history like on the streets.
Definitely!
Wow! Looks like a great place!
It is!
We love St Augustine! We go every year in December and always stay at the KOA in South St Augustine. We've actually stayed in the same site for the last three years! We were there the second week of December this year. Love old town during Christmas!!
Just there Christmas weekend, had an awesome time, been there several times, just not during the holidays.
Awesome Sauce......That looked fun for me. My kids might like it..... but Susie and I would love the historic tours and stories.
I love St Augustine so much too! I live a few hrs S if there and try to go at least once a yr.
Wife and I love this place and have been there many times. As a matter of fact, this past weekend we were talking about going again. I guess y’all made our mind up!
Great video. One of our favorite places in Florida as well and we haven't been there for a while so it made me want to go back.
I love this video. You have the cutest family. Great kids with parents who have the best attitude. Thank you for your video.
Aww thank you ❤️
Great video!
Hello Sherri how are you doing?
One of my favorite places!! The shopping tends to get me in trouble though 😳😀. Great video 💜
We love going to St Augustine, we park our dually in the parking deck on the top floor.
I grew up in Jacksonville and my grandparents lived on Anastasia Island just a couple of blocks from the end of the Bridge of Lions. We loved visiting the fort and all the things to see there.
Oh wow! I bet that was amazing.
The beach along Ormond Beach just to the North of St. Augustine, has free parking lots (very small and be careful to get a space easier in and out as the lot can be narrow and longish). Good clean free beach.
Thanks for the tips!
Hope to see you guys at the Tampa RV show. Love how your raising your kids through the history of the beautiful country we are lucky enough to call home!
We will be there and will have a meet up on that Friday. We are still working on the time a place.
Love seeing the kiddos! We'll be there Jan 25.
Whoo hoo!
Very cool video! I miss St. Augustine.
Thank you!
There is also a great paid parking structure near the free museum. Also don’t miss trying Kilwins ice cream on the main tourist street. Finally, there is a great Greek restaurant with baklava cake that is fantastic. Lots to do in St Augustin. We visit every time we are in the area.
Coming to St Augustine Jan13 rbnb staying thanks for reminding me about America the beautiful pass
I love Flagler by the sea🐬
My wife and I are also spending the winter here in Florida ( new york snow birds ) near Lake placid. 🌞🌴
That is awesome!
I hope you got to spend some time in Flagler Beach. I lived in that sleepy little beach town from 2016 to 2018 and loved it. Going for a quick visit after the Tampa RV Show.
Are you a PIRATE? NO I'M J J That was the best
😂😂😂
The kids our just tooo cute ☺️ they make me feel good
I (Kelley) went when I was a kid the thing I remember there was a pace that had an indoor pool at one time in the 1900s that just stuck out in my mind. I would love to go back.
This was so fun to watch! We were just there this past summer. I think we parked in that same spot to do the fort and the town. And the pirate museum was fun too!!! Thanks for posting this and bringing back memories!!
Glad you enjoyed and it brought back memories ❤️
Well, that was fun. I worked 30 miles from there for a few years. Great video
Thanks 👍
I was just there! We saw Castillo de San Marcos and the alligator zoo. (I wanted to go to the pirate museum but I was outvoted.) I definitely want to go again for longer.
JJ and the cannon was so funny. 😆
Hello Barbara how are you doing?
@@larrywalter6476 do I know you?
@@barbarajean1954 No we don’t know each other. Can we be friends if you don’t mind?
@@barbarajean1954 Where are you from?
@@larrywalter6476 maybe, Alabama where are you?
beautiful video family, my like, an very nice city.
I stayed at the Flagler Beach KOA many years ago.
St. Augustine is pretty but MAN getting in there with a dually is tough! 😂 Anastasia State Park is great too!!
I live just north in jacksonville, we take our boat to st Augustine but not on holidays! Glad you enjoyed your trip.
That would be so much fun!
We love st Augustine. Our daughter had her month long internship there last summer. Poor thing ! We had taken her there at about age 9. She loved St, Augustine so much that I caught her house hunter after we returned to Tennessee. She said can’t we all just move there, you can get jobs there. Lol. Now it look as if our long standing job about living at the villages is coming true. This summer we will be hunting for a home in that area. Not giving up on Tennessee just getting something to stay in more often and rent out as an air B&B when we are not staying in it. Just a small home will do. A back yard for the dogs and a pool. But will to even do an above ground like we have in Tennessee. And enough space to gather with our kids Just depends on how things go. Enjoy St Augustine, I wish I was there right now. Definitely going back soon. God bless! Leslye ps: my health is so much better. Turns out I’m allergic to gluten. I’m 6 weeks gluten free and feeling great !
You need to check out Catherine B Hannah Park about 30miles from this location, You should also check out Fort clinch in Fernandina Beach about an 45 min ride north of Saint Augustine, it has a panoramic view of the ocean from Fort Clinch which is pretty spectacular for along with nice camp grounds, there’s also Little Talbot Island Campground on the ocean just before you get to Fernandina
Kathryn Abbey Hannah Park and Campground. Agree that it is a nice place to camp and a great base of operation to explore NE Florida as far south as St. Augustine.
Very cool trip! We will definitely have to add it to our list of places to visit. :D Also, we've followed you guys for years! You've been such an inspiration to us. We'll definitely be joining Team Journey!
Awesome! Thank you!
I live about 30 min west, try out compass RV resort and Anastasia state park. Great place to visit!!
I love living in St. Augustine. Try Washington Oaks Park which is about half way between Flagler and St. Augustine on the west side of A1A. It has easy hiking, a terrific garden and great views of the Inter-coastal Waterway. Also, Beachcombers at the end of A Street in St. Augustine Beach. The kids can play in the sand while you wait on lunch or dinner and then take a walk on the beach. Fiesta Falls Mini Golf and Coneheads Ice Cream are nearby on A1A Beach Boulevard. Just watch out for the cops near the Publix on the south end. The 30 MPH limit is pretty strictly enforced.
You had me (Jason) at the dashboard mounted dslr....
Loved the pirate jokes 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks 😂😂😂
As Floridians this is probably our favorite destination in our state.
One of the best!
HAWOOOO aka Hello , FWAG aka Flag, lord how I love when babies talk 🥰🥰J.J. I completely understood everything 😘
🤗
Next you go to St. Augustine you need to try Osprey Tacos. You passed it on the way to the Lighthouse.
Love some good tacos.
So cool you all went there my 5th great grandma was married in Chapel in the fort to one of the fort soldier's, and we had land there but the fire from sir Francis Drake he burned down all county bldg and the legal rolls of prominent people and land...so enjoy my city...lol, just a little history.
Thank you.
Flagler is my home county I live in Palm COAST. WELCOME!
Went out to dinner on New Year’s Eve night to the Funky Pelican for dinner and ate outside. The weather was beautiful that night.
One of our favs too but it's almost gotten too popular. Large crowds year round. spent last Nov and Dec there. Also pretty sure I know a spot that would have been open just across the Bridge of Lion's. Forgive me for not sharing it publicly, but I like having that one in my holster. Happy to share privately if like though.
Would love to visit there sometime. We are on the west coast and go camp at Fort Stevens, huge campground and fort. Located in Warrington Or. Just a few miles from Astoria Or.
JJ's Mom is really pretty!
looks like a great place to visit, think we could spend several days exploring. We'll have to check out Flagler Beach too, thanks for the info.
Have fun!
The pier restaurant there is great
We just missed you at Bulow!! Lol…spend Christmas at Sunshine Holiday Daytona. Happy New Year 🎊🎆
Sorry we missed you. Happy New Year.
We did a video on our time in this area this summer but we missed the lighthouse, bummer. Happy New Year! - Michelle & Brian
Next time!
