Owning a small mill work shop myself the van is one of the most important tools for efficiency. Almost never enough room. I currently own a long wheelbase metris but a Sprinter or Promaster is next on the list. I noticed a comment on what type of carpenters apron or pouch is worn during install. And your absolutely right, none. Need to keep those tools away from surfaces and don’t want to carry extra weight. Place tools in a carpenters bag and cart it where needed.
So organized👍. Pleasure to look at
James ten seconds in just poking his head out... 😂😂
Never a dull moment with that guy
Not to mention at end! (before the QA) Got me both times!
Great idea for a video love this
You guys are awesome, thanks for so much great advice!!!!!
This is such a great video. Very helpful, great ideas and techniques.
Glad it was helpful!
Awesome video! If you do a next round can you do a quick video show clip of what’s in each box/systainer/apocalypse container. Maybe something we can pause just to check out what tools-parts etc are in there and carried everyday.
Im fascinated to always improve my every day carry tools and how to efficiently carry it better to each job. Also to see what extra parts are carried and how to store it.
Thanks for showing your job truck tricks! Festool t locks to lock box in place was GOLD!! Just wondering what’s in those boxes.....
Now that the RAS is discontinued is there another sander you would recommend for scribing. Maybe a RO90?
Seneca makes the domino offset plates
First question. When setting cabinet boxes, especially bases, do you always put a screw top and bottom of each stud? Also I would love to see what James tool pouch, for installs looks like. What pouch, what tools, etc
Not studs but to the blocking and yes. He tool bag is a Veto backpack with all this handtools/drill. It's not a pouch he wears during installs. We actually have a policy against that.
Screws at the top of base cabinets are more than enough to secure your cabinet to the wall, gotta remember a 500-1000 pound rock will get set on top within a week.
Island run is a little different, the rock when installed can knock some stuff around so a screw at the bottom into a stud is worthwhile so keep things from getting racked
Look into the razor scribe for scribing cabinetry and baseboard. It will change your life. Simple yet amazing tool
Will do. Appreciate the recommendation.
You should check out scott brown carpentry he has a video on his channel of his friends van fit out best ive ever seen
Some really impressive set ups out there. We try to keep ours lean and multifunctional.
Man I could use a high roof Sprinter. They're amazing.
Makes a world of a difference. Although, I always end up smashing my head when I get into the lower van now.
Bought a used postal van with a power tailgate ,lots of space and a back saver , with 16 ft interior all materials are safe and dry.
Hey guys random question. I looked at a kitchen renovation project recently and mentioned leaving the cabinet crown off of the ceiling because I got the idea here. Can’t find the video, can you steer me in the right direction where I saw that?
Will you please list out every tool in the van on next week's live? I am trying to build my install kit for the cabinet shop, but have no install experience and we recently lost our lead installer.
just start installing with basic electric - hand tools ..... youll figgure it out eventually
With all the weight on the drivers side, how does the car perform on the road?
19:36 😂😂
The razz tool? What is the proper name for the tool? I make and install custom cabinets in South Carolina. Great video.
The Festool RAS sander is what they were referring to.
Yes, the Festool RAS sander. Great tool to add to the arsenal for scribing.
@@rfcoder I’m guessing that means random orbital sander.
@@christophercrawford2736 The RAS doesn’t appear to randomly orbit. The “RA” appears to indicate “rotary” in “RAS”.
