What Is SaaS (Software-As-A-Service)
SaaS or Software-as-a-Service is a service software licensing and business model where customers pay a monthly or yearly subscription, and in return, they get to use the software. There are a few things that make SaaS sales different from traditional software sales. The main difference is for traditional software; you'll have to buy the software and host it yourself. And you'll also have to pay for upgrades. For SaaS, you pay a subscription, and the company that is selling the software does all the work when it comes to hosting and updating.
Examples of SaaS Businesses
Some examples of SaaS businesses include Netflix, SalesForce, HubSpot, Dropbox, and many more. Practically any company that offers software as a subscription could be considered a SaaS company.
Why does SaaS and Tech need B2B Sales?
The tech world will always need B2B sales. From SDRs to account executives, these roles are crucial for generating revenue for a business. For B2B software sales, the software price is relatively high for businesses so they prefer to talk to a representative to make sure their purchase will be the right fit for them.

Bro you are the goat. I’m preparing for interviews this week and this saved me.
Good luck!
Your content is helpful and fire to someone who is coming to the SAAS space after a long career in the culinary field.
Keep at it broseph.
I’ve been absorbing your videos and been learning a lot..good looking out bro!
That is extremely helpful. Thank you so much Patrick🙏
I just got in to SaaS sales. I'm in my first month as an account executive and I'm doing really well. The earning potential is amazing. What are your thoughts on making career moves and jumps? Do you suggest staying at your company for a certain amount of time before looking for new opportunities? I am still perfecting my sales skills and am learning something new daily. Thanks for your videos. Highly valuable and super crispy content.
Estimated monthly income range?
@@muhammadrizvi3986 as in how much I've made?
@Eric Petro sdr can make 6 figures for sure. Midmarket ae mid 6 figures.
stay within a company for a maximum 2-3 years, then start looking for another position at a different company, maybe in a higher position, be sure to negotiate with the new company at least 30% of salary increase
Great video man! I’m on my second year of my gap year before I go to university, currently making 6K a month doing insurance sales, and was unsure what to study in uni but you have just given me a idea !
S/O to you brother. Really enjoying your content. I've brokered a deal with an agency from the Ukraine that builds SaaS platforms. I'm about to start selling their services within the African region first and globally as time goes on. So best believe, your content is truly taking me to school, when it comes to selling tech products and services.
That's awesome to hear!
Are you okay brother.? How's it's going now.
@@gugugaga5867 It's taken a hit ofcourse, but most of the people I work with fled and are working in various countries.
Home is a people, after all... Not a place.
Hello, i just got a job in an African startup engaged in saas where I’ll be handling sales. I’ll really love to have a conversation with you about your experience . Could you maybe reply to this with your email.
I have zero background in sales and I just got a job in sales in a saas startup. I hope this helps
Still trying to land my first client and your videos are super helpful. I keep seeing saas jobs so thank you for the information!
nice. wishing you much success on your journey.
Great examples!!
Dude you are too underrated. I try to recommend your videos whenever I can!
Appreciate that!

Nice explaination bro 🔥🔥🔥🙏🙏🙏
The hardest part is finding a company worth going to. I've been looking for weeks
Try angel list if you haven’t already
Your videos have seriously changed my life. I love how you post these videos on CZcams. I am currently in radio sales looking to jump into saas and this is super educational. I have my first interview with a saas company tomorrow and These videos are my crash course!
Thanks Jessica! Best of luck on your interviews!
Hey man! Recently secured a job as a business development rep at a company called Pitchbook, used a lot of your videos for tips and interview prep! Thanks man! Love the videos!
That's awesome to hear! Wishing you the best.
Can you use these products as a focus for a drop servicing agency?
Can you make a video about identifying personas? I work for a tech company selling Saas for B2B that targets developers, engineers, architects, and CEO/CFO/CTO. I find that it is necessary to change the focus of the possible ROI depending on who I am talking to.
I'll see what i can do in future videos
@@patrickdang looking forward to this video
im 30 years old, trying to make a leap from insurance sales (been doing it for 3.5 years) to SaaS sales. I am technologically literate and I am willing to learn more. Any suggestions?
What software can we sell as saas when i didnt even develop it?
Helpful
Glad it helped
@@patrickdang might you have a roadmap of what it takes from a beginner to a techsales person.. I have a computer science degree and looking to venture into other sides of tech
So glad I stumbled upon your channel, is there some way I could get in touch with you privately? I'm 23 and trying to break ground in SaaS, but could really use a digital mentor to help me navigate some of the curiosities I have about it.
send me a email at patrick@patrickdang.com
Well done on this video
Thanks 🙏
I'm 19 and I've been running a digital marketing agency for a while and I've read alot of books on salea and I've closed alot of deals learning through trial and error. I don't have a degree so how can I get my foot through the door for this industry? Thanks
If you have experience closing for your own business you can try to get either a sales development rep job or a even an account executive job at a tech company. Try LinkedIn and Angel.co to get the application process started.
Does every software sales job require travel? Also what's the best "Software sales" Position, is account executive the best or BDR?
not every job requires travel. most are actually inside sales. there is no best position, it's just what you want to do. BDR is entry-level, and AE is a step above that.
@@patrickdang Does AE require travel? I see on some Reddit posts where it seems like a lot do but I also hear they don’t.
Sir , can u take Saas sales job interview for me
I own a drone services company based in The Netherlands. Can you make video of how and where I can get new clients? Thanks
Hey top, that's quite an interesting niche. I'll see if I can do this in a future video.
My friend wants a job as an sdr but he doesn't have A DEGREE. What should he do ? Are there companies who will hire him without a degree ?
he should apply for entry level SDR and BDR positions. Usually smaller companies are more likely to hire someone without a degree if they show they are willing to put in the work
❤

Congratulations! your videos are really professional and amazing? I live in México, how can I contact you?
