Farfisa are one of the best known names to come out of Marche region, which is quite a sad story overall
They now make intercoms
Oh how sad!
I like the hand rail, ideal for holding on to after 6 pints of Stella !! 😂
I'm one of those people who want you to play stuff, so this video really brightened up my evening 😁
worth it for the intro alone :D
Thank you! Glad you liked it! :)
Hi Steve hope your well, I was thinking back to when my mum used to have the mail order catalogue's around the late 1970s, there were a couple of single manuel organs for sale, I think one was called a Gem rodeo or wizard, and the other one was an Echo organ. I doubt if any are still around now but always wondered what they sounded like.
JS Bach, Deep Purple, The Specials... it just keeps getting better!
A mixture of joy and sadness.
Arpeggiator sounds like the early Depeche Mode (Speak and Spell)
That Farfisa sounds lovely, thank you for your demo 👍
My pleasure!
I sensed the spirit of Terry Wogan here
You should definitely play more. Those were the best versions of Day Trip to Bangor and Lady in Red (beak to cheek) I've ever heard. I even bought your demented Children's TV themes album. It's great.
Thanks very much - yes I am going to do much more playing - I had almost forgotten that I could play for a while
well done and entertaining. I do remember the farfisa combo organs from the early 70’s era.
However, this model is worthy of modeling or sampling for today’s keyboards without the problematic hardware issues. Love every one of you presentations.
Carry on. 🎤🔊
Thank you! :)
Joan of Tone ....she got the moves that one.
This was the first sort of professional rig i ever used live with bands back in the late 80's. I couldn't afford a Hammond and Leslie, and Derby organ centre had this collecting dust in the corner along with a lovely big old Sharma Leslie clone. It actually sounded really decent through this cab, as good as the Hammond X5 and Leslie 760 that was my next rig.
And yes, I used to carry it by myself by that big chrome rail at the front.
Lovely recital of Stereotype by the way 🙂
(Oh and Steve, can you repair Bird organs?? I have 2 that haven't worked for years, one of which I think is one of Jerry Dammers old ones!!) He rang me up last week wanting to buy it off me!!
Brilliant! Yes I can repair them - I have lots of Bird organ spares and things as one of the original Bird engineers donated me a huge box of parts and plans etc. I have one Duplex MKII in my pile of repair projects.. Shoot me an email on Vintagekeysstudio.com and we can talk! :)
Your vids are always so entertaining :D
Though it's not that Farfisa sound, I do think it sounds neat.
Glad you enjoy it!
Sounds awesome!
Hey! I had that organ for 20 years or so. It's amazing!
Thank you for bringing us this! I used to like the Farfisa Professional Duo back in the dark ages. I recall most Farfisa models having great reverb, some could even be played as a stop. The Pro series was good through a Leslie I seem to remember. Looks like good fun too.
You are so welcome!
The perfect baseball stadium rig hey man great vid 👍
Thanks 👍
Loved the West End Girls bit... The "Extra Men" knob is hilarious! 15:10 Love Love Love your videos! Please include your lovely cameralady more often! You 2 are Great! (-=
Will do!! She is VERY shy. Funny thing is, because I didn’t have my glasses on, I didn’t even notice it said ‘Extra Men’ - I missed a massive joke there!
Elton John would have loved the “extra men”
I really like the rhythm box / arpeggiator
I've owned the earlier one. This is the pinnacle of Farfisa 'hammond' clones. This thru a Fender twin will sound really nice.
Hello Steve, I had a great time with that Farfisa Professional 110 Organ and you playing Bach and Deep Purple !!
Cool, thanks! :)
nice playing, pretty impressed what you can do with it
Thanks a lot!
That was fun, and I like the playing stuff, especially the more crazy versions of famous songs. All those buttons and lights without being unneccesarily complicated, I love it. I'd get one if it wasn't huge and ridiculously heavy!
That bossa nova rhythm sounds exactly like the one that was on a Lowrey organ that my parents had when I was a kid.
And again, You brought me showers of laughter and sunny spells of smiles...
Nice repertoire you got there, Steve !
It's all hidden in that genious muscle memory of yours.
Taken your body size in account, there must be more where that came from...
Haha yes probably! Thank you :)
Percy Sledge performs “Go Now”
Haaaa
Really an uplifting presentation, even though it took place down on the floor ;-)!
Thank you kindly!
Body double doing the bellydancing, I presume. I liked the Bach stuff starting at 7:40; memories of growing up in the '70s to the sound of Walter Carlos's Switched-on Bach.
Thanks - yes I was channeling Walter/Wendy Carlos - not in the belly dancing though
Love the sound out of this thing!
I love your humor! Thank you for the videos
Thank you! :)
Thanks for uploading - love your stuff, I've got a Farfisa 202r - and despite owning a tonewheel hammond, this baby is still staying with me set up
Glad you enjoy it!
The knob marked "Extra Men" is hilarious. These videos are like getting to hang out with your insanely talented best friend in his music room. I do have one serious question, though. Who was this organ marketed for? It's hard to imagine a pro or even semi-pro keyboard player wanting the extensive rhythm module, but it seems really overdesigned for an average home player. I can only imagine what it must have cost new.
Thanks very much! Yes Extra Men is brilliant. I personally would have preferred extra Women. I reckon this organ was for pro use - they probably offered each buyer the Super partner as an add on in the organ shop. I bet there are examples with just a blank panel there.
ENJOYEd=YOU HIGH LIGHTing THE SOUNDS= Thanks.
Sweet, sweet, sweet….sweeeet
Nice moves. I initially felt ill at ease. But all was well in the end.
Used to have one of these, bought from a nice chap in Northampton who demonstrated it through his Leslie. It came with gig bag and oh my god it was a hard thing to move around. My favourite bit was playing with the bravissimo and still got some recordings of it somewhere. Sadly that far fish a went to meet it’s death a few years later in a village called moniaive.
Ahh memories! Thank you :)
Sounds as good as most solid state Hammonds and definitely better than some. Seems like the weight's about the same. Love the hi-speed go-fast nerf bar.
Dig that crazy rhythm. Your free-association-noodling over the Bravissimo! buttons was fun. Maybe someday you could record part of the diagnosis and repair of one of these instruments.
Thank you! One day when I can afford it I am going to get some little cameras in the workshop to document what I do - it can be a lengthy and frustrating process!
Wendy Carlos is in the chat.
I love the tone....
the best you are steve :)
What a charming instrument. The organ is pretty cool too. 😃
Haha thank you!
Great entertainment, keep them coming!
Thank you! :)
this guy is hilarious !!
Strong hockey ring organ vibes!
The sounds of that organ put me in mind of Timny Thomas songs like Why Can't We Live Together. Think he played a Lowrey organ.
I ordered steak and you gave me a shrimpfisa! With a Hammond complex.
Dude you are Nuts...! Ha Ha Ha Ha ... Great Videos...!
Glad you like them!

Yep..Good Stuff….! 🎼🎹🎹🎹👍🏻 “ Keep up the good work”
My Father and I , Owned a recording studio in the late 70s and early 80s in my hometown…, This was before I got picked to be on a Nashville network TV show called. “ You can be a Star ⭐️ “ ( Applause ) 👀 …. That was the name of the studio…! , I didn’t want you to clap…🙄 anyhow, working at the studio, recording and being the engineer and permanent studio Musician, some of the most creative and fun days in my entire life…! 🙏🏻 🎼👍🏻 Jeff Galey ( The Jeff Galey Channel )
chattanago choo choo was sounding great..
Steve belongs to a secret society called 6fn8. All that is known about it is that belly dancing is involved, somehow...
6FH8 - very very secret. Don’t tell anyone, but when two members meet in public, they must belly dance to each other and bump tummies
Steve you get a like just for the belly dance belt display, I must be sick!
You should be thankful I didn’t wear my belly button jewel as well
We never used to get this during the organist entertains! Although to be fair it was a radio programme. Who knows perhaps mr Ogden put on much the same show for the microphone at the keys of the mighty Wurlitzer? Anyone else listen in, Radio 2 at 8pm (I think) on a Tuesday evening?
“Pet Shop Boys go to Bangor”. Your next hit record....?
Can't beat a bit of Purple :)
It's so similar to the Hammond X-5 sold by Hammond-Suzuki in the mid-late '70s! That were originally made by a Japanese company called Ace Tone as a very fair transistorised Hammond emulation; so much so that when Hammond was bought by Suzuki, they bought the design and rebadged it as the Hammond X-5. The Porta-B used the same tech but added some bells and whistles. This more resembles the Porta-B, but with Farfisa's own fripperies. I'm sure they must have licensed the Hammondy bits.
Incidentally, when I was 18ish, I had a Hammond X-5 and an entry level home Farfisa with a simpler version of the rhythm box, with it's insane 'walking bass; and arpeggiator. Fun fact - on those boxes, you can combine upto three different rhythms to wacky effect. My favourite combination was March, Bossa Nova and Waltz. Stick that on a fast tempo with walking bass through overdrive - voila! Instant drum 'n' bass!
Amazing! I love messing with the rhythm box madness!
@@VintageKeysStudio Follow up vid? Wondefully ludicrous things are avaikabke.
"Go Now"!...
Some of the percussion reminds me of the Kate Bush song Delius.
DE LI USSS!
Can you do a quick video of what in oscillator terms is divided up/down as in this and solina etc
Thanks yes this will be a good one to do - I will add this to the list of topics! :)
Just one question, “how does your camera operator keep a straight face?”
It’s how you look at it. I wouldn’t call it a good Hammond alternative. The fun starts when one uses the automated stuff. Put a delay on that and it becomes very spacey. Great for 70ies, trippy, minimalist, Berlin synth school inspired samba ‘n stuff. 🤪
Very true!
Joan - well that's a bit different - some interesting sounds from the fartfizzle 110. It's either really good or really bad, I'm not sure. Is it more synth than organ or more organ than synth? I was starting to dig it until Bravissimo kicked in then I had to go for a lie down....
Yeah - bravissimo is insane
I bet you need a new tube for a Lowery.
Did you see 6FH8 written on my hand by any chance?
Very similar to my Hammond X5. You going to run it through a Leslie?
It might be when it is returned to its owner :)
Made me think of Jamaica jerk off from yellow brick road. Particularly the percussion. I had a few old farfisa organs in my youth and played them until they died. Wish I had space now, I do but it’s the third floor and those old things aren’t light
It really bugs me that the key is labeled F when it's clearly an F♭. The i on the C isn't so bad since it's naturally the tonic.
Yes, I didn’t notice this until watching the video back
Shakira Shakira
On A high again. Is it seasonal or artificially induced? 🤣
Extreme tiredness seems to work best for me for CZcams videos!
@@VintageKeysStudio Curious. So extreme tiredness makes you giddy. Just like my wife. She does however refrain from starting to bellydance. Just! 🤣
Damn, your belly dancing. 😯You should open a different type of studio!
I have been a professional belly dancer for many years, as you can tell by my enormous belly
@@VintageKeysStudio The hips don't lie
Farfisa is typically the only electric organs I can take seriously, but this one has pretty tolerable humor.
Furchtbarer Sound 😢😢
