So true and perfect this truth brought me into the Adventist Christian faith. In my simple mind I would think why would God start burning say an 18 yr old who rejected him say during the flood, he’s been burning all these years and satan hasn’t started? And we call God fair and Just? I share this with my Christian brothers and they tell me God can do what he wants because he is God. Do yourself a favor. Grab some paper and go through ever text and right them down, compare. It’s so obvious God will destroy evil. I had a bad accident, was in the hospital for a long time with Morphine straight into my arm. I was in SO much pain! I would lay there and think, They say God will do this for ETERNITY!!!! FOREVER. People don’t stop to think, really think. They listen to some person but don’t don’t a real bible search..God is GOOD all the Time. Praise Him. He will stop evil someday and we have a choice to be with him

So U think GOD is that sadistic (its even an understatement) to punish the unsaved for all eternity without end with such a horrific & unprecented kind of torture? The Bible itself suggest that only few of humans that have ever existed in planet earth (meaning even dating back to Adam ,& Eve) will be saved. What does that tell us? That majority of all mankind since the first human beings that walked the earth, are hell-bound. Anybody can go to hell. Your father or mother, your siblings, your wife or husband, your sons or daughters, your best friends, anybody that you love. Do U imagine that some of them will be tormented endlessly in hell? That's the problem with some people - they oversimplify such a sensitive topic/matter without really realising how horrific the theory that they want to believe.

Didn’t God say that if you sin you will surely die? Look in the dictionary for the word death. It says to no longer exist. And, how many times do us people use the expression “forever” for something that we know will NOT last forever. The Bible uses the same expressions. Add this to everything Pastor Shawn said & then you “got” it!

The wages of sin is DEATH but the gift of God is ETERNAL LIFE through Christ. Clearly, eternal life is only promised to the righteous while DEATH is promised to the wicked. To say the wicked roast in hell forever means they also experience eternal life although in hell. You either PERISH or have everlasting life--not burn forever

@@augustcarvalho2162 I think this applies to you. When you read about eternal or everlasting fire, you use your own understanding instead of allowing the Bible to explain itself. The Bible explains eternal fire as what happened to Sodom and Gomorrah (Jude 1:7). If we go by your understanding of eternal fire, then Sodom and Gomorrah will still be burning today. However, the Bible shows that eternal fire means fire that has eternal or everlasting consequences, since these cities have been destroyed forever and can never be rebuilt. There are two options, you either PERISH OR have ETERNAL LIFE (John 3:16). To say people will live in hell forever means they will also have eternal life (albeit in hell). God will destroy both body and soul in hell (Matt 10:28). Study this a bit further please. It is not as simple as you think. May God be with you.

Thank you very much. I am getting closer to my answers that I am searching for but not there yet. Will have to continoue my search.
We were created with the capacity to sin. This resulted as it had to in sin. This means that death had to be preplanned which also would mean that god was willing to sacrifice some/many of his creation. A question one could ask is if god was surprised by how many would succomb to sin which then could place a question if he really knew what the end would be at creation or if that only came along slowly afterwards.
Even today there is so much perfection to be seen resulting from the creation. It is hard to believe that the creator of this could be suprised by anything.
But that again opens the question of how much of his creation was he willing to loose to the evil side and ultimately to destruction.
If this is a big portion I start having a problem with love, as I know the future and still am willing to create humans in a way where I would loose so many and would have lost all if not the intervention of Jesus would have happened.
Is there any good literature that helps bring this in perspective?

One more thing. As for the story of the rich man and Lazarus, consider this made up story from WW2. A column of Sherman tanks was ambushed in France and one of them was hit by a Panzerfaust rocket propelled grenade. The tank immediately caught fire and only the tank commander was able to exit the tank, though his body was wrapped in flame - leaving him screaming in agony. However, he spotted an infantryman. With a coherent voice, he commanded the infantryman to dip the tip of his finger into his canteen and place a drop of water on his tongue, which the infantryman did. Instantly, the tank commander felt relief from his pain and he was able to make a full recovery back at the field hospital. This is essentially what Evangelicals have to accept as plausible if they want to interpret the Rich Man and Lazarus story literally. What good would a drop of water on the tongue do for a person whose body is wrapped in flames - and that, molten earth?

To share with you another clue about this subject, we need to read Romans 6:23 where Paul the Apostle says...."For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." This seems a great opportunity for Paul to say "The wages of sin is eternal punishment in hell,"....but He does not say this does he? Also, if a person is going to receive eternal life as a gift from God through Christ Jesus, wouldn't it be feasible that a person suffering in hell for all eternity would have to be given eternal life also? Eternal suffering in hell came about through the medieval church accepting the Greek philosophy that we have an immortal soul and that soul is tormented in hell shortly after death. But the bible says nothing of mankind having an immortal soul whatsoever. So, according to Paul's message here, God gives a repentant person eternal life through Christ Jesus as an eternal gift and an unrepentant sinner will not receive the gift of eternal life, but only death awaits him. According to Paul, all a sinful person would have is eternal death because he does not have the gift of eternal life given to us through Jesus. And if a person receives the gift of eternal life through Christ....Then he would not be in hell whatsoever! Any comment on this?

Another example of how incoherent the Evangelical understanding of Hell is is found in Matthew 5:29-30. It is better for one of your members to perish than for your whole body to be cast into Hell.” Evangelicals teach that it is the soul, or psyche in the Greek, that goes to Hell immediately after death. But Jesus says that it is the body, or soma in the Greek, that goes to Hell. Which is it? Because you can visit the grave of many infidels and find their bodies if you are inclined to dig them up. And for the pain associated with burning to occur, means that the heat is literally damaging literal nerve endings. If the physical matter responsible for the physical pain is not actually being consumed, there is no mechanism by which the physical pain can occur, or for there to be any smoke to go up forever and ever.

I like your approach and the exposing of the error of eternal conscious torment doctrine. You are just a short step away from universal reconciliation theology. I think the bible is clear that all are children (offspring) of God and in Him we live and move and have our being. It also indicates that at some point every tongue will gladly and voluntarily confess Jesus Christ as Lord to the glory of the Father. According to Paul's writings, this results in salvation.
You may or may not arrive at that conclusion but there are a question or two that you may want to address for your followers.
One is, who are the wicked that you suggest will be terminated and burnt up? For example; one who lived a pure life, visiting the prisoners, feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, but had incorrect theology and failed to "accept Jesus as Savior". Would their fate be the same as Hitler for example?
And, explain how Paul's example of fire burning up wood and hay and bringing the gold and silver through the fire unharmed. Both these conditions are in reference to one individual that has both wood and gold in their life.
FYI next time you read through the parable of the rich man and Lazarus, consider Judah who has the royal scepter and also has 5 brothers, and Lazarus whose name in Hebrew, is a form of Eliezer, who was the Gentile servant of Abram. It is an interesting story and those representative characters add some depth to your presentation of it.
    Have a great day.

    Revelation 20:10 (NLT)
"Then the devil, who had deceived them, was thrown into the fiery lake of burning sulfur, joining the beast and the false prophet. There they will be tormented day and night forever and ever."

I want so much to believe this but there are too many of verses that talk about people burning in hell forever. Mark 9:43
And if your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life crippled than with two hands to go to h***, to the unquenchable fire.
    Jude 1:7
Just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which likewise indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desire, serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire.
    Revelation 20:15
And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
Dozens of Bible verses talk about the punishment of h*** so I am hoping that the version represented in this teaching, is true.

Hell is hell, be careful who you listen to, just because they teach it in a different way doesn’t mean it’s right, read it yourself and ask Jesus to show you, after all, you wouldn’t want to die and wake up in hell, you can scream, curse, say it’s not fair, whatever, no one will hear you, and you will have to deal with it forever, why don’t you follow Christ and not sin, if we do He will forgive when we repent, or do you want hell to be the way it’s being taught here so you can have your cake and eat it too?..

Or you’ll be the one saying it’s not fair when sinners are forgiven. The sinners who were never religious on earth but walked in love will be confused to find out they are sheep. The religious hypocrites who condemned sinners will be confused to find out they aren’t. Notice how the sheep do not say “minister” but the goats say “minister.” The sheep actually fed the hungry & visited the sick & imprisoned while the goats only “ministered” to them.

Your god not the God of the Bible. Final destruction is what is promised. Eternal life is only for the righteous in Christ. Nahum 1 vs 9. KJV Isaiah 33:14-15
14 The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?
      15 He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil;
For one to be kept alive eternally would mean that God gave them immortality.
