unfortunately momina, not everyone is privileged and equipped enough to acquire the same opportunities as others without grades. Good academic grades acts as an asset to earn scholarships to pursue dream colleges and universities hence removing burden from one’s parents. Secondly, prioritising our education is the only way out of this country for us. Through good grades we get a pathway to explore the world and fulfil our dreams which otherwise won’t be possible. You might have seen 12th fail and that’s a good enough movie to prove how marks opens so many gates for people. There are two options: either work hard in your prime years till 25 and enjoy later or enjoy right now and work hard afterwards

momina does understand this perspective as well but she's telling you k
a)prhai is very important and it helps you in keeping safe like job k sense mein and agar apko business krna hai tu job k sath side by side you can do that
      b) god forbid, kisi k ache grades nahi aye so if they can afford to go to good uni directly its fine aur nahi afford kr skte tu ap ek gap year le k options explore kr skte hain. Aur apne options explore krne k sath side by side ap income generate kr skte hain jo na serf youtube balk you can earn via freelancing doing any small business like momina started with noodle woodle jo start mein serf ek thela tha. Income genrate krne k sath you can save to go to good uni and keep generating that or you can only do what you're passionate about in dono mein se jisko jo sahi lage

Dropping out of higher education is always a mistake. The professional life of the future is highly specialised, and will demand highly specialised skills and knowledge. Trust me, I’ve been living in Norway my entire life, a country that is a template for many countries future. Here, if you’re not highly educated, you’re most likely to stay on the lower levels of society, both economically and socially.

I feel like our society has somewhat made education a standard. People really judge others by their educational backgrounds and which colleges and universities they attended, which should not be the case. I have seen many well-mannered and empathetic individuals in our society who are not highly educated. On the other hand, I've encountered educated people who lack basic manners and empathy.
having a degree doesn't necessarily make you a better person than others. At the end of the day , obtaining a degree is all about acquiring skills to earn a living. If someone finds another path to make money or pursues a different passion, there should be nothing wrong with that. People should focus more on becoming better, well-mannered humans rather than enforcing these so-called standards on younger generations.

I agree with what you said about the gap year, I too feel like it transformed me into a whole new person (in a good way) I used to be very shy and I gained so much confidence after working in an online school. I was able to make decisions for myself and in that year I decided how my life will look like, what degree I want to pursue and if I want to start a business or do a 9-5. I'd recommend people to take a gap year if they are feeling a bit lost. It really did wonders for me.

But I think that ITS OKAY now even after feeling all that lost I tried some online works, explore myself got much time to know exactly whats happening and what i want and thats the only thing I want to tell anyone struggling if you are getting admission in any of the university then don't step back get that admission . And if you want to Take a gap year then don't just waste that time especially (Girls) Do something in that period get a job , start business work on yourself but just Don't waste that time so that u wouldn't be regretting !!

hi i wish i could comment in vm but anyways.. ive both perspectives so prhai is important because it gives you that exposure to build network or friends you want to do business with later on or just to learn in person/virtually. Not just that, prhai also shapes you as a person (mentally unstable yes- but like a whole new different personality). When u do prhai you can change the way you educate your kids and that’s how society would change so it’s important for women to get educated esp to be aware of their rights and responsibilities and potential.
But one can debate that it’s important but it’s not the only way of life. There are more things to learn- like skills that help you in today’s day and age or even like you said knowing yourself as when you know yourself you know god and your own true potential. And mind you- you don’t need a busn degree to do business. Just u do u

According to my personal experience of taking a gap year, I wouldn't suggest anyone to take it until and unless you have an idea of what you are planning to do and how you would implement on it. I belong to a middle class family and I didn't think of repercussions back then for example despite getting internships, I couldn't do those cause of conveyance issues. I was in constant pressure of getting into a uni and was having doubts of over my academic capabilities despite being a good student throughout. It was emotionally draining too being at home all day and finally when i took part in a summer workshop program i felt how much one can crave for such things so its not easy specially if you think that there might not be a very strong support system around of ppl motivating you.
Plus diet gets impacted too during gap year. I got certain health issues. I did get into a very good university after that, though I would say if you plan to take a gap year for e.g to get into your dream university, then its better to continue with any other good university and simultaneously prepare for your dream university test but ofc everybody's circumstances are different, do what best suit you, I just shared my experience. Its generally harder to take gap year if someone is from a middle class family and there is constant pressure.

Except the fact that education CAN give you a luxurious life. And it may or may not give you a new perspective to look at life. All it depends is on the type of person you are and your circumstances. For eg. Most people are from a middle class family and they cannot financially afford to take gap years. They have their parents waiting for them to “succeed” For people like these, unfortunately they have to secure that 9-5 first. However once you finally make it, you realise that making money is an entirely different game. You don’t necessarily need a degree to make money, but you can’t easily make money without a degree or proper education. University life isn’t for everyone while others crave that routine. In the end, it truly depends on the type of person you are and your definition of success.

Too much perhai to do all of which you can only do at home unfortunately (due to unavailability of other methods at university) and they demand us to have a 75% attendance. What for??? Lack of public libraries, lack of affordable resources, lack of visual learning. We have a longggg way to go. Amazing decision of choosing to stay home and take a degree

Okay so someone's like me...I completed my O'levels back in 2020 at 16 years old with expected grades and gave accounts in oct 20 got an A* which was very overwhelming when I got U in school everytime. Then out out of nowhere I decided to go for ACCA and got a decent scholarship on that as well. Everything was going well until 2022 when due to some reason I left my studies then took a gap year but there was was a heavy dose of depression for me.
But that got me closer to my faith and I understood things which I would never have done with my stupid studies.
Then I recovered and restarted my studies with Alevels.
Allah knows what's coming further for me but I'll never regret or feel bad for anything that has ever happened to me.

I have always been an A+ student throughout school and my 1 year at a university abroad. However, due to my circumstances I had to move back to Pakistan and transferred to another university here. Despite completing my first year with decent grades (which I was not expecting at all but as you said weightage matters A LOT unlike in the US, I was pleasantly surprised with my result). However, this transition really made me realize how much I miss my personal growth now as Pakistan's education system is really different from what I had adjusted myself to during my 5 years abroad. I do not know how an introverted person like me should go out of my comfort zone especially when i feel extremely out of place. So for me, grades are not the only thing I really want my independence back but being in a sheltered environment here, there are restrictions. I also had to compromise on my choice of major as the university I enrolled in did not offer Psychology. I opted for an anthro/socio major instead but I wonder if it'll be as interesting as the things I studied in my previous uni yk? I guess I am oversharing stuff but the video spoke to me and as u said there is room for discussion in the comments. What would u suggest as I envy people like u who take risks and are confident enough to explore themselves❤

ok why do we realize this so much later in life that grades do not define your worth or it doesn't matter at all after a few years, koi nhi pochta ap k kitny marks aye thy but when we are in school, college in that moment society makes you feel like that grades are what makes any student superior than others, in school toppers are treated so much differently than others that it makes other students jealous and greedy and to have what they have.
and in all these years of struggle, you finally realize that life is much more than a degree or straight A grades.

And also we finally get to study what we've wanted. In your case, this is v different because of the opportunities you had before signing up for the degree, and the nature of it is also v different. So ofc to each their own.

I never got good grades recently without taking a gape from mdcat I started applying for CS of course I have to go for maths and I did so well in it but results come after that was bitter for me ! I think I'm lacking that same risk factor to take it and enjoy your self beyond those grades and scope world. I think I should follow my self not the degree or scope . I should find my self and stick to that ! ❤

“Dont work for money let the money work for u” its a famous quote from book rich dad and poor dad but the thing is it is not always as easy as it is for u to start a business and it will goo boom like i meant u had a youtube channel so basically u had the platform for advertisement so it goes smoothly but not everyone can do this even if they start makeup brand they will not have that reach to let business work smoothly it will take them years to reach there idk if u getting my point or not but it’s not easyy but I totally agree with u that parhayi is not THAT imp apna own kerna is MORE imp and its like u have backup plan

You were a Busniess person, that is why it worked out for you but someone with a sharp brain (like someone who wants to maybe do CSS) should definitely not take a break especially at university level. They’d probably end up confused and left behind.

I know education is hard, I'm in this realm too right now that I want to drop out because my business marketing degree is giving me torture BUT education is necessary, yes it's hard but the knowledge it has given to me, and the future career I want can only be possible through this degree. So any student reading this, stay in university, hardships come and go, try to stay calm and continue your education.

  • @ladyyoonjin
    @ladyyoonjin Před měsícem +1

This is first time on this channel. I decided to listen this but when I saw the comments it's low-key triggering me . That's the sad truth of Pakistan and that is also the reason Pakistan Education system will never change because of this low mindset because the people in education system know that people are willing to get destroyed just have good marks and job it doesn't matter if they actually get good education or not. The Education everyone is talking about is just destroying your mental health and nothing else. People are saying that the these good grades are their only way out but then tell what next then because all get is good marks not the actual knowledge and education. The out everybody is talking want your real knowledge not your good grades yes it may take you out but it will take you no where. I literally have a example of today first mind you I am from one of prestigious University of Pakistan . Today our Teacher asked us simple question that we should probably should have learn in 10 or 11 but everyone including the highest GPA student all were blank even we have a separate course for that question us link to this semester but everybody was blank and today is the last class of our second year. If this what you and your parents think is successful I really think you need to revaluate your life. The making your parents proud is every child dreams so do I but does I have to cost my happiness dor this? And what other and society want me to do just to still talk bad about me even when I did what thing fullfil the definition of "success" people will never satisfied no matter what you do. They always find a way to find fault in you. I know it's hard to do things according to our own will and I know things like dropping out is not everyone can do but having that low mindset is disgusting at least have a better mindset. That's is the reason people of Pakistan go nowhere they all are Just trying to fit in a particular standard while mentally and emotionally destroying their self. These all are nothing when your heart is not content with it. Not try to find yourself and fullfil your dreams and go saying things like If these not happen I would do these and I would do that. Failure is first step of success and if you can't handle success you will never reach success. And there is indeed whole another world aside of this academic world. Academic education is important but it depends of if it is actual giving you education or just teaching you how to pretend to have success. And having basic education is important but nothing is more important than your self.

in my opinion although i do agree w what u said theres another side to all this. U could easily not rely on studies bcs u did have yt and were successful on multiple platforms and did have a little bit of earning. For most people if they start something of their own theres a great chance they might fail, and they wouldnt have any money to rely back on and would eventually have to go back to studying to get a decent job since its impossible to get a good job w out a degree.

As much as i love studying and really want to make most out of my degree, I agree to your opinion of TAKING A GAP YEAR. YES! I was someone who knew from the very beginning that I am for Media Sciences and Media sciences is for me. Unfortunately, due to lack of guidance and the peer pressure of joining an university ASAP, i chose some other degree (that too in one of the toughest unis of pakistan) and it came out totally different than my expectations. Till today I feel like i was not made for this but i'm somehow making it through, accepting it as my fate and working hard obviously. Long story short, gap years should be normalized because this is the only time you get to decide what to do with your life. Once you are into a 4-5 year degree program, YOU CANNOT GO BACK!!

Knowledge and academics has far more to do than merely just getting a degree. When Allah says in the Holy Quran (as a prayer for muslims),
“My Lord! Increase me in knowledge.” (20:114)
This ayat indicates us, acquiring knowledge, studying, thinking, has far more to do, than just acquiring knowledge for earning.

Im in last semester of uni and i feel exactly the same that i need to drop out that it isn't what can define my potential. I have my fyp pending and i have barely managed to get to the last exam of my degree. Ive been a good student just above average. But i just dont feeeeel the neeeed to focus on studies or even fyp. When i don't feel the need i have just no intrinsic motivation to do it. People say its kinda stupid to not complete what i spent 4 years on but its just my heart doesn't want to do it anymore and i can't force myself to do Bs Ai .

Hey wanted to ask the online degree you are doing is it a 3 year program. I personally think the same even though till this date i have done exceptionally well in my o/alevels and right now i have almost 3cgpa in 1st year with barely studying in electrical engineering, but for the past 2 year i have lost the joy of studying (not learning). I do love to learn about business, self help etc. and am hoping to take the business route. Its just that degree to me is also a formality sort of stuff. And personally too much of my time gets wasted in university for which i am also looking to switch from comsats to fast whilst changing my major. In the end it's the things that makes you feel fullfilled is what that matters and i think even with the difficulties you feel fulfilled if you are following your purpose whatsoever that maybe for you.
