  • If you're new to this channel, I can tell you that I mainly build things that I need. However, there may also be unnecessary things depending on what I feel like doing.
In this video, I am constructing a surround for my fireplace insert.
Using bricks for a fireplace insert might seem like too much, but the bricks keep the heat well, and I also had bricks that I wanted to use. I applied gypsum plaster for a smooth finish.
The purpose of my design is to make it look contemporary with my hundred-year-old house.

Over engineered as per usual, just the way I like it. You make excellent videos.

can I ask you what's the reason of soaking bricks into a water?

The joints become stronger if the stones are saturated with water. It's probably not necessary in this case, but it doesn't hurt to be extra careful.

You are commenting a video of a guy that build his own hydraulic forklift. What else do you expect from genious like him?
