Cities Skylines Industries:
In one of the most in-depth expansions in Cities: Skylines history, Industry becomes a larger and more meaningful part of the game with this expansion. Players can customize their industrial areas with supply chains for the four different resource types and unique factories. Well managed industry areas will level up and become more efficient. Aside from production chains, there is a new city service for handling mail and the cargo airport eases import and export of factory goods. There are FIVE new maps, new policies, new city services, new buildings (including resource extractors, manufacturers, warehouses and unique factories) and more.
Key Features:
- MAKE IT HAPPEN
Follow your products from harvesting to processing, storage and production, then transport them to commercial zones or export to other cities.
- CAPTAIN YOUR OWN INDUSTRIES
Define an area with the industry area tool and place highly specialized industrial buildings to build and manage the production chain from raw material extraction up to final end product. Industry Areas are divided into four types based on the natural resource they are processing: Farming, Forest, Ore and Oil. These areas can level up upon reaching productions goals and staffing requirements.
- BUILD IT UP, BUTTERCUP
New industrial buildings include Extractors, Warehouse Facilities, Processing and Auxiliary Buildings, Industrial Props and Roads. Unique Factories, such as Food, Toy, Furniture, Car and Electronics produce luxury products, and require a large number of workers, water and electricity as well as input from your industries.
- SHIP IT
Manage traffic and logistics with industrial warehouses and the use of the new Cargo Services including a cargo airport.
GO POSTAL
Boost your citizens’ well-being with mail delivery and collection services. Post sorting facilities handle mail between outside connections and the post offices, and new Post Van and Truck vehicles enable the carriage.
- WONK HARD
Three new Industry Policies and four City-wide Policies, including Workers’ Union, Sorting, Tolls, Wi-Fi, Logistics, Work Safety and Automation.

Hi Biffa I only have a cracked version of the game but I hope one day i will have the computer to run it
i have a city that urgently needs fixing but i cant find a way to make it a public steam workshop item :(
Hey Biffa, love your content. Such a relaxing videos after hard day of work.
I have a city that is in desperate need of saving. It's a project I started a long time ago and it ended up growing into a city covering 9 square km and pop of 170k. Thanks to your videos I've gone into traffic manager and got the traffic to above 55% and it's not really a nightmare (I think), but something is seriously wrong. Dead people, trash are piling up and business is not getting goods and industry is not getting raw materials, the population is plummeting. I have infinite money on, but kept it making profit as a personal rule.
I would hugely appreciate if you could take a look and maybe I (and others) could learn a thing or two about huge cities and connections.

Tips for traffic management:
- Get Traffic Manager President Edition (best mod ever for traffic)
- Get network extensions 2 (more roads)
- Build multiple highways that go straight through the city. Make lots of ways on and off of highway
- Have lots of main roads for heavier traffic (try to make sure there’s never a spot more than 5 blocks away from a main road in the city)
- make roads be long. When roads are longer, people can drive straight for longer and not have to slow down and turn.
- Have good public transport
Hopefully I helped some people to get even better traffic! This is some stuff I’ve picked up with my 300 hours played :)

Seriously someone said that roundabouts are slower than 4 way intersections? No wonder american traffic is so bad - People like that think that gridlocks is better than a safer, faster roundabout.
It's harder to get in a wreck if you're not moving. Think about it.
Blake Corcoran roundabouts have a lot less accidents than intersections. People can’t run red lights or cut each other off as easily at a roundabout.
The only thing this American hates about roundabouts is the staggering number of people who have a driver's license but can't comprehend a yield sign. I don't know how confident I'd be trying to get around 3+ lanes, but in the 1- and 2-lane versions near me I just drive through them aggressively and hope the drivers around me figure it out. That you don't have to come to a complete stop when there are over 2 car-lengths of space to slip into. That you DO. NOT. STOP. on the inside!
I wouldnt call roundabout safer
@@Framlii why? It's almost impossible to get t-boned, and the speeds are much slower than you might get from someone running a red light. I'd rather survive a glancing blow to my fender at 15 than risk a solid strike to my door at 40.

@yoiboiegg That joke was a car, but you were standing on the island of the roundabout...
I was using right-hand traffic once, and I couldn't figure out why my roundabouts and on-off roads were all going the wrong direction. (This is coming from an American.) Turns out I was making them clockwise when they are supposed to be counter(anti)-clockwise.
And do we know why other countries drive on the left?
The roundabout with the pedestrian paths over it looks cool! And functional too
I'd prefer it go underground than over a bridge
@@skyfavre6692 I'd definitely prefer over ground. I live near one of these underground and it's so incredibly disorienting, gets vandalised, urinated in, etc. By being below ground you have no reference points, (even though they tried adding signage it still isn't good), and because it's so private people take advantage of that. Keeping it above ground would be better for QoL.
@@patheticmortal373 its a game
Also, dont stack bus stops on top of each other. There is a little slot for buses to duck out of traffic as they load, but if a second bus from a second line pulls up just behind it will stick out into traffic and block it. So just separating the bus stops down the street help a lot.
In fact, Denver CO does this up and down the main down town streets.

The US really needs to adopt the Euro "priority road" concept and signage. I suspect most US players don't get the concept until it's explained to them, or they've passed the International Driving written test (I did, US Army, Germany, 91-93)
Wait, US doesn't have the priority road concept and signage like we have in Europe? Holy cow, it must be a nightmare to go through roundabouts.
The few roundabouts we have in the US (significantly more now than 20 years ago, but still not a ton) all have signs in front saying "Yield to traffic in the roundabout". So the idea is the roundabout gets priority, but we don't have the nice buttered toast (yellow diamond) signs that Europe has.
I mean technically we have yield signs but realistically nobody pays attention to then and what little roundabouts we have are so poorly marked that you just drive in and pray to god that you can get out
Here in Texas, we have a shopping center that was going for a European (specifically Italian) aesthetic. They put a roundabout at the parking lot intersection right off the freeway access road (feeder road). They must have had a lot of accidents there because they soon installed speed bumps at all the entrances, which then were upgraded to speed humps. Lastly, they installed stop signs at all four entrances. So we have a roundabout that you have to go over a speed hump before stopping at the stop sign, then going around. Classy.
@@eKalb33 so it's not only a stereotype that americans are not able to use roundabout, zip move or keeping the right in the highway
6:38 When you build pedestrian bridges above roundabouts, disable the crosswalks that cross the road near the rounadabout. They can cross the road on the bridges without blocking traffic.

Faster way of putting give-way signs on main roads ...
- Go to the in-game traffic manager, select a road, and make it a Priority Road. That puts all the give-way signs in for you, and it's insanely helpful.
That way normally puts stop signs on the non-priority roads.
@@williamclapp9694 - And they work pretty much exactly the same way, splitting hairs a bit here.

@Biffa, as to your comment on roundabouts. About a little over a year ago they changed the main road here from 2 lanes each direction (4 lanes in total) to one way each direction. Aside that they changed the 4 intersections with roundabouts. They work great, sure one has to slow down but the overall flow is a lot better and in the end I am much quicker to and from my work not having to wait for the traffic-lights that used to occupy the luckily gone intersections. Even for the cyclists and pedestrians the flow is much better. As for this video city fix; I up till now have not considered using the lane restrictions that much within the city itself, but it seems to do miracles here. Always fun and useful to watch your videos. :)
👍
25:14 round-abouts are usually put in to keep traffic moving more smoothly. The road that was connecting the town I grew up in with the neighbouring town used to have a massive traffic light at the entrance to the neighbouring town and considering there was an A-road on and off ramp right between our towns meant there was always a massive amount of traffic, even with other sliproads nearby. A decade ago they put in a massive round-about (one that fits lorries and busses) where the traffic lights used to be and a few down the road that lead to an industrial area and the neighbouring town also put in round-abouts on their main road inside the town (our town did that a couple years prior) and traffic has been sooooo much better ever since! And as long as people aren't idiots and indicate only when they actually exit the round-about I've found you can pass through pretty quickly. I definitely have spend way more time waiting at busy intersections with traffic lights than I have at round-abouts.
You should start a competition where a certain amount of people send you their potentially functional cities if it wasn't gridlocked and you have about 1hour to fix the city to the best of your ability and the city at the end of the competition with the worst traffic wins.
Whelp, nothing a good old meteor won't fix.

Biffa, the only thing about adding the roundabouts everywhere is that it's not entirely realistic since you're demolishing buildings for each roundabout you're making. Where there is the space, it obviously makes sense to do so, but in an area that's already built up, it might make more sense to have some timed traffic lights.
Nah, sacrificing a few buildings for the sake of a whole city is very much worthwhile 😋
@@BiffaPlaysCitiesSkylines Also, in a real city, they would probably buy back the land since most of the city is abandonned anyway, and build the roundabout.
Hey Biffa! Love your videos. I wish that during the traffic fix videos that you focus more on alternative ways to minimize the traffic, such as sidewalks and public trans, have a great day
I dowloaded the pre-fix city and got it to 81% traffic. The most annoying thing I realized (quiet late) is that the default speed limit on most four and six-lane roads was deleted but it was still in effect on the central highway (and any new highway I put in) I couldn't get people to use the highways - and the forrest industry in the north east had deliverys to the cargo harbor in the south west. As soon as I put speed limits on all non highway-roads the highways (and public transport) got a lot more use and my traffic bumped from thirty-ish to the upper seventy percent.
Hey, can you post a list of all the mods you use? Thanks.
Lots of inspiration taken from these videos. Thanks Biffa.
Its been years that I don't play this game or any game bcs of my busy job, but i love watching this lol i remember when i got obsessed with city skyline, i would play for hours and hours and hours, and neglect my job lol 😂 this videos make me want to download it again and finish my city i was working on originally :)
Biffa, Do you have the save game links for this map because they havent been changed since the last city (Sydney 2)?
Oops! Will do when I get a chance 👍
Why do you do the stations across the street from eachother; couldnt you "attach" the loops together figure 8 style or something?
Having multiple lines stopping at the same station will cause the metros to back up while waiting for the train from the other line to load and unload. Putting metro stations withing walking distance is a work around in cities to not having multi platform stations that keep the train lines separated.
@@tlheart But why on earth creatng two separate lines here? Both of them are C shaped, literally facing each other! One new line could go from the south through the expo area and then the north, in S shape. (The transfer in the south area is OK)
Where I live, we don't really use roundabouts for intersections, other then tiny ones on side streets to slow traffic down at intersections, especially on bike routes, with intersections between 2 main routes handled by traffic lights to make sure both roads have a chance to move.
When pedestrian crossings are disrupting a good traffic flow I insert a timed traffic light that gives one second for the pedestrians and twenty for traffic. It works most of the times, even on roundabouts.(Make sure the through traffic on the roundabouts always have green light.)
What is that mod you use for traffic called?
