I actually said "It's probably the Cecil Hotel" before the video started. It's like, the most infamous hotel out there.
Me too I guessed it before watching the video.

I don't think for a moment that Elisa Lam just committed suicide. There's no way she could've gotten into that tank alone and pulled the cover down over herself.
Exactly! The lids on those things are heavy and take more than one person to move. Not to mention how weird she was behaving.
I believe the lid was open when police found it her, no? But I agree it's likely not suicide. She was found in the back tank, for one. Seems like someone hastily threw her in and didn't close it.
Came looking for this in the comments. I donât buy it either
@@danielx15one I think the lid was closed thatâs why the police were confused
The lid was open when the janitor took a look after guest complained. He closed the lid after finding her body and before the cops were called. She didn't commit suicide, but she had a manic episode in which she was probably hallucinating from not taking her meds and reacted impulsive, dangerous and spontaneous. This lead to the elevator footage and her probably taking the fire escape stairs outside the window to climb up the roof (because the staircase inside has a locked door with an alarm that rings downstairs) and for some reason take her clothes of and jump into the tank of which she couldn't get out of and ended up drowning in. Unstable people like this basically schouldn't be allowed to travel alone when there's a real chance they'll act out like this and can get into trouble. Her parents and sister knew she showed troublesome behaviour from time to time with her condition. It's sad really. She could've had a wonderful trip had she been with someone to keep her in line.

During college I worked room service for an internationally regarded five star hotel. There were at least three to five suicides per year and those were only the ones I was aware of. This happens to all hotels and motels and the higher class hotels are just better at keeping it hush hush.
There you go
The more you know
That's kinda interesting tbh...
The thing with Elisa Lam is the way the water tank is locked and shut with a very heavy lid... Her going crazy also doesn't explain the elevator itself acting weird... the doors not shutting until she moves off and stuff...
So idk if you watched the Netflix documentary on this incident. But the reason the elevator did not close was because she was pushing the hold door button. And the metal lid on the tank did not actually have a lock on it
@@masonbrinton8587 nor was the lid closed.
And, Iâve hear a rumor (just a rumor from someone, doesnât mean I believe it or itâs true) that her name backwards is lam Elisa, some type of water testing thing. So there that, although itâs probably just a coincidence.
Also some how the hotel doesnât have any cameras in there hallways and she somehow opens the door leading to the roof without alarms going off. My theory is that the hotel knows exactly whatâs going on and they cover it up by saying itâs suicide
Cecil hotel sounds straight out of a horror movie honestly.

Wow.. so many; and the recent Netflix Doc just focused on one story.. this place is definitely haunted/cursed
I remember watching an episode of Ghost Adventures about this hotel. Supposedly Richard Ramirez would do rituals at his hotel room. Itâs said that some of the people there were affected by this and either demonic spirits would push them out of a window or change the way they act and in some cases guests you would be scratched or hear disembodied voices. Some people speculate that during the video of Elisa Lam in the elevator, she played a game in which you select certain buttons on the elevator and it will contact and/or make a portal to allow spirits through. This is how the elevator game is supposed to be played, the person playing must first enter the elevator alone, before pressing the button for the fourth floor. They must then descend to the second floor, up to the sixth, down to the second again, up to the tenth and finally down to the fifth. They must not get out on any floor. After reaching the fifth level, the legend says a mysterious woman will enter the lift, but the person playing must not look or interact with her. Players must then push the button to the first floor. Two things are supposedly said to happen here. If the lift goes down, the player must leave the building and not look back. If it goes to the tenth floor, once the player leaves the elevator, it's believed they'll be entering a new dimension.
and what happens if you don't follow the rules? same thing as elisa lam?
this def explains a lot about Elisa Lam bc the investigation saw that the doors to the roof were locked and only for authorized personnel and the water tank was locked too. I am sure her death deals with the supernatural.

Because of all the deaths, I'm beginning to think that the hotel is an SCP.
I had an encounter with a supernatural once. My sister, her family and I checked in and was given a room on the floor of a haunted hotel. This floor is haunted by a young woman who committed suicide when her married boyfriend broke up with her. She jumped to her death from a window on the floor of the room that she was staying in. Since then, guests and staff kept seeing or hearing her crying on that floor. One night I woke up when I heard a woman crying and when I opened my eyes, I saw a woman sitting on the foot of the bed. I thought it was my sister, wearing a white robe with long hair, but I realized that it wasn't my sis. I was so shocked and tried closing my eyes, she cried for a few minutes before disappearing. I told my my sister the next day and described the woman that I have seen, and my sis confirmed that was the description of the woman who had died there years ago.
That chick in the water tank was murdered btw. No way she closed the door behind her after getting in. It was heavy asf apparently and impossible to reach from the inside. But keep calling it an "accident"
I like the logic you used here. Makes it feel like one of those detective games.
Figure out the inconsistencies
That begs the question on if it wasn't an accident or suicide, then who did it? That's the bigger question. I'm honestly surprised none of the employees along with the managers weren't interrogated heavily over that incident if they weren't because if I was a detective, they'd be my primary suspects along with anyone else that may have had a history with her.
Edit: not to mention all the other guests that were at the hotel, when it happened, would be suspects too.
It wasnât closed. The worker who found her body said the cover was open still.
The first time I heard of this place is when the Elisa Lam story surfaced. That is soooo creepy. Definitely not suicide.
* Everybody tasting the water * : Why is it spicyyyy???!

This is crazy, why would people keep checking in with all the scary and strange things happening there
I could tell right away this was going to be about the Cecil. I still remember the Elisa Lam story like it was yesterday.
If I remember correctly- Elisa lam didnât fall into the water tank accidentally, there was an extremely heavy lid on top of the water tank, making the case more strange.

Some theories suggested that Elisa Lam died because she played the infamous elevator game and she did mess up the ritual by communicating with an unknown 'woman' in the elevator which was the rule of the game - do not interact with the 'woman' in the elevator at all. So the 'woman' is a demon, furious at her and decided to 'trade her soul' by drowing her in the water tank. That's explained why her death was bizzare and how is it possible for her to open the lock the water tank by herself is puzzling.
Other realiable thery is that she was off her meds and was havinh her one of her psycotic episodes. She was hacculinating and thought someone had stalked her.
The elevator game ftw!
