- Dermatologist Dr. Lisa Hitchins shows a new product that can end uncontrolled and excessive sweating after a quick application.
Dermatologist Lisa Hitchins spoke with Great Day Houston host Deborah Duncan about the condition known as hyperhidrosis. Symptoms of hyperhidrosis include excessive and uncontrollable sweating, especially from the underarms, palms of the hands, and feet. Some treatment options have included Botox or taking a medicine in pill form, but Dr Hitchins showed how a new product, Qbrexza, that has just been made available recently can be dispensed easily using a wipe to apply it topically. If you’d like to find more info about Qbrexza, speak to your dermatologist. For more info on Dr. Lisa Hitchins, go to www.dermatologynwhouston.com or find her Facebook page, Lisa D Hitchins, MD PA- Dermatology Center of Northwest Houston and Instagram with the username Dermatologynwhouston.
This condition is suicidal.. I almost ended my life because i felt so different to everybody else. I lost my self confidence and i was so ruined. Im just so glad that i survived
When i saw my daughter sweating a lot and shes still a baby, i said to myself, i must find solution for this coz I know how difficult it is.
ive went through the same thing man… up late night thinking about if its worth it to keep living… glad i got it taken care of
I'm hearing you there mate, I have thought about jumping off the earth from my hyperhidrosis
Did this medicine work for any of you then?
Hyperhidrosis is not just sweating in the armpit though, and i feel like this solution is for armpits only
People that suffer with Hyperhidrosis pls know your not alone and our team at PlayStation are proud of you all
my hyperhydrosis is so bad that if I get even a little hot I start sweating profusely
Same here. I'm sitting at a concert and its 75 degrees and I'm dropping sweat. So embarrassing
I'm always dripping. I can sit without a shirt on and I will have sweat droplets drip from my underarms and run down my arms. That is with clinical strength prescription deodorant.
The sad part, without deodorant, I can lay on my back with my arms laying above my head and watch the sweat pool up on my armpits within seconds. :/
All thanks to Dr.uwenboherbalhome supplements and diet tips
Honestly am tired😭😭😭 I sweat at all times 😭😭😭
same. I just think of the sun and I start sweating
Why haven't I see this before!? Since the age of about 15 I started sweating more and more. Even just sitting down on a bus in winter. Seen several doctors who just advise to "work out more" and "eat healthy" etc. Well, I DO work out, a LOT, and my diet is very healthy. This is life changing.
i find comfort knowing that im not alone with being like this and people telling me to "relax" so i wont sweat is so infuriating like.... ive been dealing with this for almost 2 decades and relaxing was the answer all along?! wtf..... i cant with these people
@@emmaemma9211 I also suffer with this problem. I am now 20 & from Bangladesh. People also tell me the same thing that feel relax etc. but still now I am suffering for this 😒
SAME, or they tell me “drink more water”…. I drink 1/2-1 gallon water a day if not more, work out and eat clean as well.
And sometimes I stick to drinking 1/2 gallons of water because I just sweat more the more water I drink. I also have to wear shorts and tee shirts/tank tops under my clothes too to help soak up my sweat or I limit how I move in public so my excessive face-sweat doesn’t show. Especially if I’ve drank over 1/2gal of water. Because I can’t just put a t-shirt, tank top or extra layer of mid-thigh biker shorts on my face to help hide how much I’m sweating.
I’m so happy to know that I’m not the only one who really does workout eat healthy and STILL for the life of me can’t beat the excessive sweat. I really wish you & anyone else who reads this a great journey on the road to finding a solution for hyper-hidrosis foreal.🫶♥️
I’m sorry you had to get dismissive “relax” comments when you’ve probably shared how hyperhidrosis affects your day-to-day life and I really hope you find a solution that works for you for it so you can exist in peace.♥️

Started for me at about 12 or maybe 11 and that’s over 2 decades of pure embarrassment
@@naimarestoringdivinity7938It is a struggle 😭 I don't sweat under my arm. just on my face, hands and feet.
I was prescribed glycopyrrolate. It helps a lot. The side effects of dry mouth and dry eyes suck but I'll take it over getting embarrassed. It's not perfect but it's better than nothing. I sweat head to toe without it
What dosage do you take?
@@nyomii25 2mg a day. If I know it's going to be really hot where in going I'll double up for a couple days ahead of time
@@Outdoorpizzaoven see I can take four and still sweat. It just adds a sore throat to the equation.😩 do you take it every day? I take mine when it’s super hot or I know I’m going to be somewhere that I would prefer not to be embarrassed. Maybe it’s something that needs to build up in your system over time? Maybe I don’t take it enough. I feel like I’m the worst case.
@@nyomii25 from what I've heard it's something that you get the optimal affect after using it for up to 4 weeks. So if you only take it when you think you need it you aren't getting the full affect. But check with your doctor don't listen to me.
@@jmartinez2ification the maximum dosage is 4mg I think but I experiment with a little more. Start with the recommended dosage for a week and see if it helps go up from there. I’m not a doctor so I don’t want you getting sick so don’t go crazy with it.
Hyperhidrosis will ruin your life in every aspect. It's not the sweat it's the body odor that people worry about. Robinal forte works but will destroy your mouth teeth gums, with time. Also you will lose cartilage liquids in your joints. Because it drys up your insides. Stops your vowel movements. Don't expect other people to understand it. Especially family members. What a miserable condition to have. I had it since 7th grade. Hands, feet, arm pits even groin sweat. It's f in horrible! Depression, suicidal thoughts, social anxiety. You name it, it will ruin your happiness! Trust me I know. Unfortunately there is no miracle cure. Good luck to all of us that suffer from this miserable condition.
Can’t wear nothing but black and it’s getting worse over the years 😔
This is so sad to hear. I wish you all the best
Have you tried pills? I used to sweat a lot from head to toe but since i started to take pills prescribed by my doctor, it ridiculously decreased by a lot

Calling excessive sweating “socially unacceptable” Is irresponsible
I think she means that people can be jerks
Yeah badly put
I think she means sweating so badly that it severely disrupts one's life
By ignorant people she meant
My hyperhidrosis started at age 4 as it was after having Horse Fever which drove my fever past what a home thermometer could measure. And my father was Christian Science so my mother took me to the doctor if they could afford it and we were poor.
The high fever caused damage to the hypothalamus and I found the Plant-Based diet, it has done more to help than any medication or cream as my hyperhidrosis was from my armpits down to my feet, my but sweat and my feet and all of it profusely. It would look like I had peed my pants.
Humiliating. I found out that I am horribly allergic to all dairy and that helped a lot. Found this out 12 years ago, but there were other foods which triggered the condition. I am not Whole Food Plant-Based as it is the kindest diet for my body. Believe me with however bad the condition was, it got even worse during menopause with hot flashes and massive sweats now of my head.
The diet freed me. I’ve talked myself out of suicide many times. Fortunately I have a very understanding husband and he has mild hyperhidrosis, so he could not feel my hands were sweating as his always were. But we have had 3 sons who did not inherit the kind of sweating we have had. My husband’s condition is not to the point of being grossly abnormal as mine was.
The Standard American Diet has many triggered for my condition. The longer I am on it, the better I feel.
So basically you're vegan? Did it completely get rid of your hyperhidrosis?
@@DewdesuIt helped tremendously. I added walking and now that I am retired, I walk on average, 5 miles per day. Has it stopped me sweating totally? No, but it allows me to sweat NORMALLY.
Whatever makes us more healthy will also help with a chronic condition also. I am not only Vegan, but LOW FAT Vegan. Not being overweight is also important. I had been up to 200 lbs., but now with walking, I am 125 lbs. And that is a much better weight for me at 5’4”!
Whatever makes a human being more healthy is going to help us too.
We are already outcasts, and being Vegan is also taking on one more heavy brick to the load we already carry, but… it is worth it. I know a lot about health as their fancy potions never did ANYTHING to help me!
But losing weight on the Whole Foods Plant-Based diet, with exercise, has made me for all intents and purposes, a normal human being.
Except for this one thing: I have compassion, and that is no longer normal at all but should be!!!!!
Mine started at 33 it’s so embarrassing
In 2011 when I was 11 years old I got sick with chronic pancreatitis. I was starved for a week at a time every month that I was sick, and the more that I got sick, the more damaged my pancreas got. And for some reason my doctors never explained that a damaged pancreas can affect how my pancreas absorbed vitamins and nutrients. So I ended up being malnourished by the time I was in 9th grade, then my sweating got really bad. It was really just on my face and back in HS, now im 24 and my hyperhidrosis is all over my body. My face, back, hands, feet, legs, neck, and chest. I step outside in the summer and start sweating, and when its humid I cannot stop sweating. To the point where I feel like I need to just go inside and shower and never go back outside. Really is a social life killer, used to be really out going and always busy, now the summer comes and I want to be outside but I just disappear.
I have a SEVERE SWEATING disorder. I sweat from head to toe even in the winter. My clothes are always wet!! I drip sweat from all body parts. I can even feel my sweat glands open up and gush sweat!! It's disgusting and embarrassing! If I go to a restaurant and sit on leather seats with shorts on, I leave PUDDLES of sweat on the chair when I stand up. Doctors can't help me. I'm taking oxybutynin but it's like eating candy, doesn't help. Can you suggest a bath soap to soak up the sweat?
Maybe you have to use glycopyrrolate
Man you've describes that feeling... I can feel my glands opening up too
Just like myself….
Try using alpha lipoic acid supplement as well is a natural alternative to other anticholinergic drugs.

Sweaty hands are the worst. A world where you struggle to shake people's hands -whether it's for an interview, introducing yourself, or a a simple high-five. Struggling to open simple things because your hands have zero grip from being so drenched. Having to wipe your hands every second as you write, type, drive, or hold anything. Imagine developing different types of mental health problems because of the burden that your wet hands bring. Take into consideration that all these misfortunes are JUST from the hands alone. Think about what sweating from top to bottom would do to a person. I do not wish this curse upon anyone... even my worst enemies!
I hate my life 😭😭😭
I have to wear black most times and I always hold a napkin
Honestly am tired😢
That’s how I am bro, I’m thinking taking glycopyrrate medication to help reduce excessive sweating
Well, I have a severe hyperhidrosis. I am 40 now and made peace with my condition. I always wished I didn't have it, but I never had suicidal thoughts over sweating.
Sweaty hands didn't stop me from having a successful career, in the field where handshakes are must. Every time I have to shake someone's hand I honestly day I suffer from a condition that makes my palms wet and a handshake would be unpleasant. That's it
Mine is so severe it does not matter if im nervous because every morning i wake up and the end of my bed is wet from where my feet were and i have several videos in my camera roll where my hands will have sweat literally dripping off them while i am not nervous or stressed at all just sitting by myself its been like this as long as i can remember and im 19 years old.
i found my ppl. it’s been like this my whole life.. deodorant NEVER works. it’ll just be washed away by the sweat
So it is not only me sweeting too much
Why can't these TV hosts shut up and let the guests speak uninterrupted? I totally missed what the Doctor said after wiping. the sweat away.
lies! not true!
I have this is it is CRIPPLING! I'm isolating myself because as soon as I walk for longer than 3 minutes my shirt gets so drenched that I can wring it out like a dishcloth 😩
I'm thinking about quitting my job because I just can't stand the embarrassment. I work with people with disabilities and some days it is on the schedule that we will go down to a restaurant for lunch. But I really don't want to arrive at the fancy restaurant and sit down completely drenched in sweat among the other visitors 😮💨 I feel ashamed. I love my job, but I HATE the days we need to walk long distances.
I use both the wipes and the pills and it’s a game changer!
Hi how long have you been using this ? I’m going to talk to my doctor about it because I swear so much it’s embarrassing 🤦🏽♀️
Tee W the pills for about 3 weeks and the wipes for about a year
I know everything has an aide affect and everyone is different but did you have any bad side affects?
Could you please tell me the name of the pill?? :) I have a really bad case of hyperhidrosis in the face.
What’s the name of the pills?
No one talks about groin hyperhydrosis, literally they call it ORS or mental disorder. Very disheartening!
How about if your excessive sweating is on your head and face?!!
That is my condition. Any solution? I sweat a lot in my head and face even with AC.
They have an antiperspirant for your face. Looks like an armpit deodorant.
Then what we do for face sweat?, that is the most embarrassing .
Same. I have a face sweat problem too. Even in AC I still sweat like what the... I don't even do anything. Hoping that there will be a solution to it.

I started to have this problem when i got depression medication. I don't feel like going outside let alone go to work.
Change ur medication , it is very commonly seen with ssri like floxetine
This can be very devastating and depressing 😢. I don’t feel confident and I can’t even wear normal dresses cos I feel embarrassed when I go out there sweating even in a normal weather. Please I really need a solution for this situation cos I’m already at my breaking point please 😢😢

I’m constantly sweating after moving around mildly when it’s like 65 degrees outside. I’m over this too. And to top it off I work outside and in attics that can get up to 150 degrees. You find a solution?
Interesting that he wears a second layer to take in the sweat so that the top layer shows less. I also have to do this at times and it is often a choice that could go horribly wrong because it can also just make you warmer and therefore sweat more. I struggle mostly with my work clothes, i don't like just wearing a t-shirt but sonetimes its too hot for a sweater.
Thank you doctor and thank you for sharing Ralph. :) Iontophoresis has helping me a lot.
So why do they only make Medication for the underarm, I do not sweat under my arm pits but I do on my face only in the summer time?
Summer winter spring fall my face sweats actively.
Same here. Try the glycopyrrolate pills. Inexpensive generic for Robinul, and it works great for me.

But After reading the Electric Rainbow by Arthur Firstenburg, I think it’s related to the over electrification of our environment via EMR.
In the book he sheds light on the fact that some people who were exposed to uncommon amounts of EMR experienced brain fog, fatigue and perfuse sweating. Now I just have to sleep in a Faraday cage for a few weeks to see if it’ll keep the forehead dry😂

I take oral glycopyrrolate and it helps moderately with sweating... I still sweat when I take 2mg but I sweat around 30% of what I do without taking it. The worst side effect is such bad dry mouth that I cant speak, and nothing remedies it aside from stopping the drug
