These smooth Triumph's and a few others like the new Harley Davidson 440X will be contenders. The new Royal Enfield 650 "Shotgun" was unveiled and I thought I heard only 25 will be made. Himalayan rider here and amazed how the middle of the road, dual sports bike craze has progressed! Super Meteor 650 just arrived in Vegas and it is gorgeous 😍.
The shotgun motoverse edition will be 25 (this is the gorgeous looking bluish shade that you see in most ad's) and were for 25 lucky buyers in Goa India. Starting Jan they should be releasing the regular colours in India. I am not sure though of timelines for the US.
Don't look for too long as I strongly suspect the shiny new appearance wont take long to look jaded and the residuals will plummet faster than a lead balloon !
The 1200 is super cool. I rode Steve's 1200 for a few miles in New Mexico on some gravel when we did the Divide Route. Lots of power and character. The 400x is a baby in comparison. Half the power, but also half the price. I guess if I wanted to I could buy a larger bike but I kind of have a soft spot for smaller budget single cylinder bikes, it seems.
"Johnny Ride your DR and put the money in your gas tank" - this sounds like a good starting point for a country western song... I need to get to writing. Should it be more in the style of Jonny Cash or Marty Robbins?

I believe it may be a while before we see the new REH in the USA. I definitely am interested in those as well. I feel like there’s definitely going to be a strong competition between these two
@@On2wheels94 they would be very smart to make a 400 based ADV bike - something like a Tiger "Cub". I would be very interested in that. However, I feel like the Dual Sport segment is waning. Even Suzuki seem poised to let the iconic DR650 die by becoming obsolete and unable to pass emissions requirements in the future
@@JohnnyPowRides In my area (midwest USA) dual sports are more popular than ever. Most who have gone with the big heavy ADV bikes are switching to KTM 350's, Yamaha tw200's and Crf300L's
not exactly... Himalayan is good but not sure how reliable it could be looking at RE past History. Still ktm 390 and triumph 400 are beast in their own segments
What is RE past history? Their sales are consistent since years and they are on the road to deliver 1 million bikes this year and my father personally drives RE 500 since 6-7 years and he has faced no problem at all @@boopeshkumarprabhakaran

I had not seen this before. A beautiful bike. I look forward to seeing your videos on it in 2024.
This will be the first new bike purchase we haven't done together in a long while! I'm feeling fomo. This one looks really awesome.
you can always drop a deposit on one...
we can ride the Hot Springs 100 and Scram up the mountain
@@JohnnyPowRides Damn you...
Awesome, can't wait to see some content with this. Good stuff!

I am looking forward to getting mine down here in Alabama. I appreciate your video and review.
Specs vs price is a winner over the 1200x
Awesome. Congrats! Time to accessorize.
It was cool to meet you at the event. I'm ready to see how you kit it out.
Nice meeting you man. Maybe run into you out of the trails one day!
Need them low mounted exhausts on 1200! 400x looks gorgeous
You'll have to give us the tour when yours gets here....Enjoy.

I've heard it's a big bike, no bad thing. Seems very similar to my BMW G650 X Country - 17/19" wheels, single cylinder, simular seat height etc....
The guy in the bucket hat, continuously eating ... hardly seems like a motorcyclist.
How does the 400 compare with the 1200s? Just got a 1200xc 23' as my first bike.

Johnny Ride your DR and put the money in your gas tank... I enjoy your vids my friend
Why not both LOL? This bike I do not think will replace my DR. It will be interesting to compare

Have you thought about checking out the Himalayan 450 in person before you buy the Triumph?

Triumph has a motocross style bike out soon. Maybe dual-sports coming next?
I am highly doubtful of a dual sport from Triumph
Add lights and plates to the motocross lol
@@JohnnyPowRides Pretty sure an ADV version of the 400's is in the works, as well as dual sports after their 450 Mx bike drops
