- This video is about Compensator problems follow-up (part 2). After getting the bike tuned, I started experiencing rough starts when the bike was hot. After doing research and confirmation from my mechanic, the compensator was the culprit. Here is a explanation of the problem and how I resolved the issue.

Finally some explaining why my 07 fxdbi starter grinds when im starting it
Glad I could have helped.
@@imac19791 which brand of compensator would you recomend
@@gerrybubenzer5677 honestly I can’t answer that question because I’ve had 3 screaming eagle and they all seems to go out. I don’t rump the engine often and all have been installed by mechanics. So the next one may be drag specialty or to do away with the compensator and get a chain idk. I have to consult with my mechanic and then I’ll go from there.
@@imac19791 im thinking about the dark horse compensator
@@gerrybubenzer5677 if you get it let me know how it goes…
What compensator sprocket did you go with to replace the screaming eagle one ?
My warranty replaced the compensator with the SE Compensator.
Wrong screaming eagle compensator bolt. New one is torx. I suspect defective install
I appreciate the comment…
HEY ONE DAY I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM ON MY 08 HOW MUCH DID THIS JOB COST AND SHOULD I PUT ON THE SCREAMING EAGLE COMPESATOR OR CAN I DO THE JOB MY SELF.
I went with the updated SE compensator. My warranty took care of the cost.
Joseph Marton What do you by baker? Is that what you are recommending? Please explain why?
Joseph Marton if or when it breaks I will definitely go that direction. I was told that the primary tensioner is a item that needs to be adjusted and the price wasn’t worth it.
What year is this bike ?
2012 currently 70k miles. This video was around 50k.
Can you eliminate the compensator by going just a gear
Sorry Steve but I don’t have that much knowledge. I’m just an average Joe working on my stuff.
I see some problem here..... the spring pack is missing a piece (you should have a big 2 halves, 1 medium 2 halves, and 1 small halve on top that is actually missing). I see also that the compensator bolt is not the SE one but the old stock one instead.
Maybe the problems here are related to a bad initial installation....... just my 2 cents
Just may have been the problem. Tks!
Shovelheads have dry clutches and compensator sprockets!
Ok
how do they ride
How it turn out
All went well. That’s why I take my bike to The Ride Factory!
