- Wow, this probably has to be my longest video up to date.
Joon-Gi Han has to probably be one of the most underappreciated Yakuza characters ever, and it's a shame cuz he's a really interesting fellow, and on the bright side, he's gained a Ensemble Darkhorse cult following behind him so, that's a good thing! With so little screentime compared to characters like Someya or Hirose, he really made such a big impression on people with his stylishness and personality, and this video is here to highlight that.

The guy has fought ninja's, multiple different crime organizations/yakuza groups, tiger's, and god know's what else. Although there is that one time where he looked mildly surprised in yakuza 3 to see a dismembered head so. Yeah.

@@CrazyJean In the first game he stopped Goro from beating on his lackeys, yet here he didn't move an inch. Probably cause he was more acquainted with Goro.

NGL, I always laughed because of Joon-Gi Han's different VA at 38:33. It's so obvious, lmao. The same also happened when Big Lo and his son Jimmy were talking in Chinese, their voices were so different. Kudos to RGG though, I guess. They didn't want to butcher foreign languages, so they hired native speakers.
They didn’t hire a separate voice actor; Yuichi Nakamura (Joon-gi’s VA) practiced his lines to get it right. But yes, the difference is quite obvious.
Reminds me of oda's mandarin, as a native I cringed every time I hear oda speak mandarin.

@@marcelinelee8514 May have lowered the pitch but the tone of the voice is still similar. Also the difference in language can make an impact on the tone of your voice as well due to speech patterns and trying to get the right pronunciation. I thought the VA was bilingual first time I've heard it but that's really cool if he practiced the Korean voice lines numerous times.
@@its_johnH Certainly. In a promotional video introducing the VAs of the characters in Yakuza 6, Mr. Nakamura mentioned that his Korean lines were difficult (and thus required more attempts to get it right).
