I completely forgot that Elena stopped Stefan from committing suicide in this episode. Also didn’t realise all this happened so late in the season - I can’t wait for season 2 man
This Pearl death made me angry cause Anna really wasted her whole life looking for her mother just for this to happen. All these hundred something years searching for ways to reunite with her mother just for her to get taken away from her as soon as she finally got her back for like a minute. It’s so sad
by john gilbert.... that stings
Not only was Pearl like one of the only Asian characters on the show throughout the entire series, but just in general was an awesome character and would have provided the show with much entertainment.
Still pissed me off that the show runners just junked her character like that after all the build up.
@@ednicolle2456history literally unfortunately repeating itself😭
RIP Harper and Pearl.. I feel so bad for Anna she just her mom back after 150 years 😢
AHH still mad about their deaths. They would have made the show better.
I cannot get over how Stefan eats his daddy’s blood like it’s peanut butter straight out of the jar 14:00
I swear no one drinks human blood like stefan lmaooo it looks so sensual when he does it 💀💀
@@merveeille4357Yeah, I kinda love it.
@@merveeille4357 thats a crazy sentence lmao
@@merveeille4357that's an interesting way to describe it😭
16:22 this episode marks the first mention of the humanity switch
“Which mother?”
Shots fired.
“I couldn’t think of what I was going to say- so, words came out.”
The Zuff way.
i like this episode a lot because you would probably assume damon would pressure stefan to turn but it’s actually the other way around. i like that
Yeah that shocked me the first time I watched it 😱😂
7:28 I love how Elena just hangs up after Damon’s bad attempt at a joke. That’s just too funny. Funnier than the actual joke Damon made
I love how Zuff is team Damon and Bryce is Team Stefan & Rob just has to keep a straight face!!! 😅
Bryce is team Stefan?..
Rob is the sanest of the 3 of them.
@@julietisp4l he said he was at one point lol
15:16 yeah, especially here
he is definitely team stefan 🙃
I don't think he's team Damon either.
But not "team Stefan" 😂
i just love how you guys make fun of the way jeremy speaks. lol
Grams’s spell actually did work - she Opened the door AND locked it up again- but BECAUSE she died, the spell didn’t hold anymore …
Emily is such an interesting character, I wish we could see her story. She always has this hint of smugness and will smirk sort of like Katherine but why? She's a human witch yet she seems to work for Katherine, doing evil vampire psychopath shenanigans. What benefit is she getting? She was against letting the tomb vampires out yet she saved them originally. She helped Jonathan Gilbert create the anti-vampire devices. Yet, again, she saved them all, including Stefan and Damon. How did she get sucked in the middle to the point she was actively helping both sides and yet she seems the most powerful of all? She's a contradiction and we never really come to understand her motivations or past history. Ah well.
It could all be to ensure the Bennett witch line survived. She got Damon to promise her he’d keep her bloodline alive. That’s the only positive outcome I can see at least.
The same way Bonnie became the most powerful witch (with the exception of Davina from the originals, I think) but was still treated as an afterthought and used as a mule.
I think she just was kinda sucked into it like Bonnie, because she had vampire friends so she helped them even though she knew they didn’t really deserve it and it was kind of in opposition to her witch code of “keeping nature in balance” or whatever.
I love that Rob is a Bonnie Stan! “On Blood” made me laugh😂, I might get the Patreon finally so I can see these reaction videos asap. ❤ love you guys!
i really like how this episode shows how much stefan struggles and how much elena is willing to do for him 💗
this is one of my favorite elena episodes. she stuck by stefan even though he was being a dick this episode
Yes, I too love watching her loyalty to Stefan until the show runners fucked that up later in the series.
Now you know why Stefan could barely look at what was left of his father
We love Alaric and Damon friendship ❤
You freaks thinking he wanted Jenna to walk in on them- 😂💀
The laughing and making fun of everything Jeremy says kills me 😂😂
this episode gave so much perspective as to why they're the vampires that they are, even though Damon wanted to be a vampire to be with Katherine, he was never scared of them and wanted to be like them and while yes he was gonna let himself die before transitioning it wasn't because he thought being a vampire was bad instead just because he thought Katherine was gone, meanwhile Stefan from the beginning has been compelled by Katherine to not only keep her secret, but to not be scared of her and to drink her blood, he was unaware of this whole plan and has been roped into becoming a vampire and while at first deciding to die without transitioning he, under circumstances out of his control, is pushed by his vampiric nature to drink human blood and subsequently to rope Damon into doing it too, all because of him feeling like he couldn't live without his brother only for Damon to reject him and promise "an eternity of misery" while also blaming himself for every human life they both take
If Damon hated his ordeal, why did he not stake himself to death that night?
Damon literally told Stefan in this episode that all his action on this earth belongs to him and Stefan is not allowed to feel his guilt. He completely owned his actions and released Stefan from feeling guilty about it.
@@mahamoon1917 yes but he’s told him this what 160 years since they turned?? stefan has been living with it for this long and it’s why he acts how he does, i think it’s also important to note that regardless of what had happened with katherine stefan still loved his brother and wanted to spend eternity with him
Damon only blamed and shamed Stefan cause of his severe jealousy of Stefan being turned by Katherine instead of just himself. Stefan never forced or coerced Damon to turn, but Damon wanted someone to direct his anger towards and Stefan became it which Damon admits to in the later seasons.
PEARL!! my QUEEN 😢

So its funny how excited zuff gets watching thus show. And I laugh so hard at you guys laughing at Elena's brother. So now everytime he talks i cackle my ass off😂😂😂😂😂😂
Uncle John constantly proves that he’s a POS. (Had to abbreviate because CZcams was like “Do you REALLY want to post the whole thing?” Yes- but I’ll play it safe. 💀)

Is everyone excited for 1x22 as I am???
Thanks to Rob, Bryce and Zuff! 🧛♀
Anna and Jeremy are weirdly cute despite being pretty dysfunctional.
SO excited for you guys to see the last episode…the last couple minutes are GOLD to see people’s reactions
If you notice, Stefan wears the ring on his right hand. Damon wears his on his left.
Verjer is crazy 😂😂😂
Stefan is me when I do clean eating for months and then taste chocolate 😂
i love this episode and how it ties together so many thing from though out the entire season
Its crazy how the beggining of this season Damon was the obvious villain and then in one scene you understand him so much more and how his villain arch started. Technically it was a couple of episodes leading to this but that scene really sets it in. I see both points and it makes this series so good!! especially in the earlier seasons.
The only thing Damon could claim to be hurt by was Katherine as Damon was jealous Katherine turned both him and Stefan. Damon only blamed his brother for anything because of jealousy as Stefan never coerced or forced his brother to turn. He only blamed his brother cause of his jealousy. That villain arch only happened cause Damon was an asshole before and after he turned into a vampire.
Yeah, we now know how the Salvatore brothers turned into vampires, but there is still more to learn from that night in 1864.
this episode is really good with the background and surprises
This is a small casting spoiler that shouldn't spoil any plots for future seasons, and hopefully wouldn't take away a fun surprise, but since Rob mentioned Team Jeremiah from TSITP and loving flashbacks...Gavin Casalegno (Jeremiah's actor) does show up for one episode as young, preteen Damon. Just a small thing to look forward to.
In order to be turned into a vampire you have to die with vampire blood in your system. Its not like twilight were if your bitten you turn . Hope this helps. 😊
I mean I think it’s so interesting that Damon hates Stefan for also being turned by Katherine when it wasn’t his choice. Damon wasn’t being compelled, he knew the full situation, had his own memories and feelings still. He knew she was with Stefan while Stefan was being compelled to think it was just him. Damon knew Katherine was controlling Stefan and taking advantage of him. She was taking away his choice and forced him to drink her blood then took the memories of it. He still blames Stefan for it? I just don’t understand that at all, Damon is such a smart person like?? Stefan accidentally killed his father, was taken over by the bloodlust and fed and then being 17 and freshly a demon he decided he wanted to be with his older brother forever and coerce him into drinking blood too. Bad choice. I’d understand Damon hating him for that more. But Damon’s reasons for this long grudge are so petty. Katherine forced Stefan into this as much as Stefan forced Damon into living as a vampire. I just don’t understand him sometimes.
It's a jealousy that's been burning for 100 years. He loved Katherine enough to die for her, and she obviously promised him he'd be the only one. It's misdirected anger, but there's no one else to aim it at.
Such a good point! I get he's mad at Stefan for getting Kathrine locked up for many centuries, but Damon has a part to play as well and he kind of forgets that! LOL
It’s cause Damon is selfish & inconsiderate
I feel like it has much more to do with their transformation, the fact that these feelings have been bumbling inside him weeks/months before they died, and got turned. Yknow, like transitionning into a vampire "highlights" your emotions, and kinda gives them more weight, so Damon's love for Katherine (obsession, moresoe), his jealousy of Stefan's relationship with Katherine, and him blaiming Stefan for Katherine's death. Also, huh I don't think Damon knew the extent of Katherine's manipulation over Stefan. All he knew is that she was with both of them.
Chalk it up to shitty writing 😂😂😂
Lets goooo, loving these reactions. This is a good turning point episode, things really start going now.
It's so fun watching you guys react to episodes lol great video!
These last few episodes have really made me lean more into Damon’s side especially this episode flashbacks but I’m sure that it will continue to change as the show goes along great reactions
are you watching the show for the first time with them?
How so? Damon showed nothing but bad traits in this episode. KIlling that chill guy and promising his teenage brother an eternity of misery because the girl he was obsessed with coersed his brother into liking her. I understand the show makes people care less about the shitty actions their characters do but he didn't even show the few good traits he has in the episode.
@@rexibhazoboa7097 sure Damon’s bad but Stefan is worse. He’s like those guys that are “fighting demons”😭
@@rexibhazoboa7097OMG I just commented something similar to this cause I’m sick of seeing people obsessed with Damon make excuses for him and blame Stefan for Damon turning as if Stefan shoved blood down his older brothers throat. As if Damon didn’t already choose to become a vampire (Stefan didn’t) before Katherine was taken and only really blamed his brother in the end because he was jealous Katherine turned both him and his brother instead of just turning him. Just because Damon says something doesn’t automatically make it true. Poor Stefan loving his brother so much that he took any blaming from his older brother (by a whole ass 7 years) to heart. Just as is true in life as in the show, if you’re hot, people will make endless excuses for your bad behavior.
@@laylareyes7733Stefan (who didn’t ask for it) was cursed with the ripper “blood addict” gene, but Stefan fundamentally was a better person than Damon ever could be or wanted to be really.

9:03 that’s just Jeremy’s voice.
Stefan was 17 years old. He wanted to spend his years with his older brother. There's only so much I can blame him or tag him the "bad guy"
Can't wait for season 2!!
People keep on talking about why does Jeremy sound like that that is literally his normal voice nothing has changed what are y'all talking about😂😂😂😂 like what😂😂😂
yeah its always been like that but his voice is kinda funny though😭😭
Few people mentioned in the comments on the previous react that the actor playing jeremy might've had a cold while fliming those few eps.True or not the guys are just being funny with it lol.
It’s a very nasally voice lol I feel like it changes often
I know. They’re really coming after his hair & his voice the past couple episodes. I don’t get it. Like that’s literally how his hair looks & literally how his voice sounds? Something he can’t really change
@@packedentertainment2866i thought they were coming after how it’s changed, not the hair/voice itself
What Damon said to Stefan about him not hating him for turning is a lie- he did so, for Stefan to stop blaming himself.
I mean. At this point in the story that’s up to interpretation. Some things change or are added later that completely retcons stuff. Other stuff works fairly well. But at this point, that’s not a fact. I assume Damon did resent him because of turning him, but it was easier for him to focus on his jealousy. He would rather not reveal that vulnerability to Stefan or perhaps even himself at that point.
@@NoelleMar (spoiler…………………….: it’s not because we see that trauma and that need for forgiveness later in season 7.

Uncle John is the WORST!
tbh (for me at least) the show is about Bonnie and Matt...they're the true main characters
Bonnie: her journey navigating life + being a witch
Matt: his "villain" arc
others might add Caroline to the mex but I don't think so
Anna just completely forgot that Jeremy wanted to turn for Vicki.
I don't understand that. Vicki is dead and gone. It's not like they can be together.
she didn’t forget, she ended up forgiving him
@@ladyhotep5189jeremy didn’t know she was dead when he wanted to turn
no they addressed it last episode. he pointed out she was also using him at first as well and in a more harmful way.
wait does rob know kian and jc, after the “aweshamm” i was like 😮😮
I love the way they started the story with Damon being this monster (which he is) but Stefan playing this good guy and that Damon just has this vendetta that he won't let go of, only to find out that no matter how big of a monster Damon is, Stefan is worse, and his vendetta is actually reasonable.
Ehh wouldn't really say he's worse, more like way more alike than Stefan wants to ever admit. He's got a bit of a hypocritical high and mighty complex.
@@lonetardigradeNot really. Stefan fundamentally always was a better person than Damon ever could be which only added to Damon’s inferiority complex. Stefan got passed the ripper gene (he never asked for) making it nearly impossible for him to control his blood lust. Even Elijah killed the girl (Tatia) he was in love with because of the ripper gene and his witchy mother had to use spells to help him control it. Too bad Stefan didn’t have the same help.
Stefan with the ripper curse he never asked for makes him a monster when out of control vs Damon when even in control is a sadistic and selfish that hates on Stefan purely out of jealousy that Katherine turned both of them into vampires instead of just him. He can’t even be mad about how he transitioned as it was his choice even in the end to turn or not and he chose to turn on his own cause Stefan never shoved blood into his mouth nor did he coerce (persuasion under force or threats) Damon to turn.
me when i’m delusional
Katherine coming real soon🤭🤭best character on the show
My heart hurts a little every time you make fun of jeremy, he was like my first crush back when the series aired!! never sounded wrong to me lol
pls never stop
I think Stefan is feeling bad for others not for himself lol. Guilt rather than self-pity. Elena tries to compare her sense of guilt to his, but the scenarios aren’t comparable. She blew off family night, which didn’t CAUSE any kind of crash. They could have been on the road for any reason or even cancelled family night or whatever.
It’s slightly comparable to feeling bad for what Damon did, but Stefan also feels bad for things he actually did. Even with turning Damon, he intentionally turned him into a vampire, knowing you could turn off pain and eat people. I don’t blame him since he didn’t know better! But that’s totally different than doing one thing that has no connection to the other thing.
Anyway, all that is to say I don’t think it’s more self centered, or self-pitying, to feel guilt about hurting others than to NOT feel guilt and feel somehow justified.
Zuff speaks and I lose brain cells listening
MAJOR SPOILERS DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVENT SEEN AT LEAST SEASON 4
Huh. I just realized that the later sire-slaying problem (don’t kill the vamp who turned you) is kind of proved wrong by Pearl’s death. The rule still applies to the OGs but they debated if it applied more generally too and clearly not.

it was never about just any vampire, I don't think that was ever an issue that was discussed...It always about just the OGs... And that's just given to how they were made and how that magic seems to work; they Originals were the direct result of an immortality spell, the rest of the vampires are diluted versions of them; extensions of the magic that made THEM... That's why the originals have all the abilities dialed up to 11 and the in vulnerabilities... They are the direct result of magic placed on the, powerful magic, the rest of the vampires are by products of tiny slivers of that original magic; that's why they are tied to the originals and why/how the sire link aspect that Esther put on the spell works in some extent

The amount of people who completely misunderstood what Damon said and didn’t even scratch the surface of how complex his characters has been written. Damon is a very complex character, you should be able to read between lines to get his character. The thing is Damon actually hated Stefan because he forced him to turn , the reason is the scene when they first woke up by the quarry, Damon didn’t show any sign of hatred towards Stefan after seeing that Stefan was also turned , he only wished him an eternity of misery after Stefan forced him to turn (implying you already gave me an eternity of misery by forcing this existence on me a life without love and the curse of being a vampire forever), so he is only saying that because he doesn’t want Stefan to feel guilty about it anymore , this is Damon’s way of sacrificing himself for his brother, he is trying to take some of Stefan’s guilt away by making himself the bad guy, that the reason he hated Stefan is him being selfish and it has nothing to do with the fact that Stefan forced him to turn so Stefan wouldn’t feel guilty about it anymore.
And now you know how the Salvatores died. 🤷♀️
Anna's here preying on a 15 year old, no one wants to talk about that do they lol
Stephen the biggest hypocrite of them all... damn I hate this guy... but the Bromans between Ric and Damon is something everyone should love
How?
Fr I give props to Damon for keeping that to himself whenever Stefan shut him down
@@ironisa forcing Damon to become a vampire is a start. I always forget how much this show stole from the Buffy/Angel relationship. Still love it, but it was sometimes crazy 😅
And yes I know the books came out first, but I read them and the suicide by the sun was not in the books. But it was in Buffy.
watch the movie precious or the movie set it off. Both are classics for the black community!!!
Weird that Damon was like “I don’t wanna be a vampire” when he was the one willingly feeding from Katherine? Just an observation.
Damon was willingly feeding because he wanted to become a vampire and be with katherine eternally. Once she died according to him his reason for becoming a vampire went away and he didn't want to become one anymore. I don't think that's wierd at all.
I actually never really liked Anna, but I did feel really bad for her when this happened. No one deserves that 🥺👌🏻
John Gilbert is truly one of the worst characters ever. Like I hate him so much.
Idk what Jere’s actor is doing with his voice and I hate to break it to you, but it remains for the entirety of his performance…
I have a sneaking suspicion that it might be a case of “bad acting.” It’s endemic on CW shows.
i mean damon was willing to be a vampire for kathrine but not for his little brother ?? stefan shouldn’t have done what he did. but to promise and go through with trying to ruin his life forever ? 😃 insane. especially bc he just said himself he doesn’t even hate stefan for that. he hates him simply bc kathrine fucked with stefan too
Elena doing too much as usual , someone get the only grownup BONNIE back here now
Now that we know how they turned I hope you guys realise that Damon’s been doing entirely toooo much 😭
What are you talking about? This episode literally showed us why Damon’s anger toward Stefan is justified and even SPOILERS Lexi agreed and told Damon he had every right to hate him for what Stefan did to him.
There is so much more to their dynamic as well, further in the show you see so much more
@@mahamoon1917 Imma break it down into two things: 1) Damon hating Stefan for forcing him to turn (Stefan’s perception) and 2) Damon hating Stefan for Katherine turning him when it was supposed to be just him (Damon’s confession).
1) Damon already debunked that this is not the case for his hatred towards Stefan but for arguments sake let’s say that that is the case. At the time it happened Damon had a valid argument and rightfully hated Stefan and Stefan deserved it BUT at the current point in the show, he’s lost that right because he takes peoples choices and rights to live ever since the show started. I mean he literally did the exact same thing to Vicki that he’s still b*tching towards Stefan for. He’s the last person to be mad about anything
2) it’s simply not Stefan’s fault and he’s being an immature loser about it
@@gentwhoisoverit6992 About the first one I disagree but I have to write a very long comment to tell you why and I’m not in a mood for it and it involves Spoilers.
But about the second one, you should know that Damon was lying to Stefan when he told him, he hated him because Katherine turned Stefan too.
Damon is a very complex character, you should be able to read between lines to get his character. The thing is Damon actually hated Stefan because he forced him to turn , the reason is the scene when they first woke up by the quarry, Damon didn’t show any sign of hatred towards Stefan after seeing that Stefan was also turned , he only wished him an eternity of misery after Stefan forced him to turn (implying you already gave me an eternity of misery by forcing this existence on me a life without love and the curse of being a vampire forever), so he is only saying that because he doesn’t want Stefan to feel guilty about it anymore( Stefan and Damon just started to slowly repair their brotherly bond), this is Damon’s way of sacrificing himself for his brother, he is trying to take some of Stefan’s guilt away by making himself the bad guy, that the reason he hated Stefan is him being selfish and it has nothing to do with the fact that Stefan forced him to turn so Stefan wouldn’t feel guilty about it anymore, because Stefan literally tried to commit suicide in this episode because of all the guilt he was feeling.
SPOILERS: if you completed the whole show and understood the whole story, you would realise that even tho Damon promised an eternity of misery for Stefan, he never went through with that promise, he was definitely angry and heartbroken for what Stefan did to him but that never stopped Damon from caring and loving his little brother and what ever happened in the past was only misunderstanding and lack of communication between the brothers that they were all cleared up by the end of S5 when Stefan found out that his big brother was still protecting him from the shadows and he had no idea about it. I absolutely love both character Damon and Stefan and I think they were written ingeniously.
I love the way they explained this topic.
No good pls no, I need to sleep 😂😂 I’ll be back in the morning. 🥲😍
Let’s not forget, people, if Damon didn’t really want to become a vampire anymore like he previously did when he thought Katherine was still alive then he very much could have just staked himself or ran into the sunlight without his ring. Damon just blamed Stefan out of jealousy over Katherine choosing to turn both of them instead of just him.
