The first movie is one of my favorite King movies. It is very emotional and I hope they catch this kind of emotion here also and not concentrate too much on the action alone.

Look up the original Firestarter done by Stephen King It had a couple of sequels that were done in the late 90s or early 2000s connected to the original I think there was a total of 3 movies one of which she's a small child second movie she's at a government version of Xavier school for the gifted second movie I think was called firestorm. In the second movie she's with a group of teenagers that all have unusual telekinetic abilities out of the group she was the strongest. If I remember correctly there is a third movie where she tried to track down her family or something like that came out a little while after firestorm Firestorm may have been a miniseries and that's why I'm thinking multiple sequel movies. Black attenuation was done by the Canadian Sci-fi channel in the late 90s or early 2000s I think one was called Firestarter rekindled and the other one was called Firestorm something like that. The child wasn't evil she's just very young and has pyrokinesis. It would be a very horrible ability for anybody that young even a teenager having an ability like pyrokinesis would be horrible. But idea of the ability has always been emotionally connected and when you factor in emotional instability of young children and teenagers if a horrible ability. It's very powerful but at the same time what I mean by horrible is imagine being the person with that ability.
The original with Drew Barrymore was fantastic and mind blowing way back in 1984. With the advances in tech...I hope they do Stepen King's vision justice.

He would get noise bleeds that would progressively get worst. I remember finding this interesting as a kid, that your powers could hurt you.

This is a classic remake; I remember Drew Barrymore in the original and thought it was pretty epic. Will be watching.

I was wondering the same thing. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen the original but I seem to remember the dad’s powers were slowly killing him or at least hurting him. He would get noise bleeds that would progressively get worst. I remember finding this interesting as a kid, that your powers could hurt you.

It looked like he did something to get her away from the guys in the house, but was hard to see as it went by so fast.
There is the scene @1:24 where the native American guy has a knife to the girls throat, he(native) pushes girl to the side and a "force" comes from the father's side that pushes native away.
He’s obviously trying to keep it secret so they don’t tests on him for the rest of his life dah.
