I'm 57 years old and I'm proud to say, I grew up on this stuff in St. Louis. The Von Erich family was my favorite. Yep, I knew it was staged but they were awesome to watch. Their battles with The Nature Boy Rick Flair and Rowdy Roddy Piper were epic! Such a tragic family in real life.

Spoilers: For those who don't know of all the brothers: Jack was electrocuted at age 5. David died of enteritis while wrestling overseas. (edit I previously said it was toxic shock. I was getting him, and another brother's ailment mixed up). That left Kerry, Kevin, Mike, and Chris. Mike was skinny, but tough. He committed suicide. Chris was the youngest. He never had the same physical build his older brothers did. He committed suicide. Kerry was supposed to be in the 1980 Summer Olympics in track and field on the discus. The olympics were boycotted that year. Kerry at some point crashed his motorcycle. He was driving barefoot if I recall correctly. He crushed his foot. The doctors pinnned it back together in the hospital, but that night he stepped out of the bed. That ripped apart everything they did. The foot had to be partially amputated. He eventually came to WWF as The Texas Tornado. He was still wrestling, his foot, and prosthetic tightly wrapped in his boot. Eventually he committed suicide. He had drug problems. I don't recall the specifics. Kevin is the sole survivor. He gave a really good in depth review for an episode of Dark Side of the Ring. He told the complete truth. When I heard about this movie, I was very curious. Now that I’ve seen the trailer, I will definitely see it. I’m another dude that grew up watching the Von Erichs in North Texas and I’m very familiar with their story. This looks good.
Even all the way far back in Nigeria and though it was some few old editions of wrestling we watched , as a kid i was always excited to see the Von Erichs brothers fight, yes i also played using claw hold on my brother and friends then.....its from the comments i am now reading about so many tragedies that happened to the family....definitly can't wait for this movie.....
Everyone who knew the boys is going to crawl out of the woodwork to tell their experiences, and they should. This was a remarkable family. Let me state that I knew of the boys, but not on a personal level. One of the cameramen was an old high school friend of mine and introduced me a few times. I came to know Kev a little later in life. Chris Adams was one of my best friends, and I saw with my own eyes the distribution of alcohol and drugs that plagued all of them at the time, including Chris, Gino, and Terry. The list is long. I look forward to seeing what A24 has done with the lives of boys who were turned loose with too much fame, time, drugs, booze, and money in their hands. Jack was of no help and thought his kids could do no wrong. He turned a blind eye to the problems and, one by one, helped put them in the grave.
I don't know if I'll be able to watch this movie. I saw the Dark Side of the Ring episode about the Von Erichs. The last survivor Kevin was interview in great depth, and he was completely honest. What a tragedy.
A father who overpushes his sons to achieve greatness and where did doing so get them? An early grave. The Von Erich family is indeed among the saddest stories anyone can and will ever read about.
This was truly a tragedy!! Maybe the family was cursed because it was a real life tragedy the way most of the brothers passed. Their story still makes my stomach unsettled till this day. I'm glad their story is being told.
Glad to see they are giving a movie to the Von Erichs. Texas tornado was always one of my favorites. One of my all time fav matches to watch was the ultimate warriors verse the perfect team Survivor Series 1992. Can't wait to see this masterpiece
I can't wait to see this! My only small complaint is Zach Efron is built more like Kerry than Kevin in this movie. Kevin was leaner, while Kerry was jacked up like Arnold in Conan the Barbarian. Loved watching these guys wrestle as a kid.
My nephew would watch the Von Erich's, so I started watching, too. It was fun to watch, and I had a crush on Kevin, so win win. What happened to this family was tragic.

@pauljrhere if you ever watched the Show called Shameless on showtime he was Lip!! He is a small guy.
i agree Kevin was a small guy, but Kerry was 6'2" the guy playing him in this movie is 5'7"@@tyson1fan487
That opening shot bouncing back and forth in and out of focus, daaaaamn thats an awesome shot!
I grew up going to the Spotatorium in the 80’s. It was a sad day when it burned down. Still have all the Von Erich’s autographs.
A24 putting out yet another gem.
Zac Efron: Probably the most underrated actor of all time!
Oh hell yes! One of the legendary family’s of wrestling with one of the most tragic stories imaginable. I can’t wait for this!
hands down.... Zac Efron is an Animal!... damn he looks realy good as a Wrestler!
Zac Efron 🎆🎆
seems intense, with uniquely great performances. i hope they capture the gimmicky, fun side of them as well bc they were really loved in Texas.
Zac Efron and Jeremy Allen White are getting better and better actors.
zac looks awesome !!!
Zac is jacked! I remember growing up watching the Von Erich's at the "Sportatorium" back in the 1990's. Great family!
When I heard about this movie, I was very curious. Now that I’ve seen the trailer, I will definitely see it.
I’m another dude that grew up watching the Von Erichs in North Texas and I’m very familiar with their story. This looks good.
This video is a hidden gem! It's incredibly empowering! -- "Value the journey; it sculpts you into something extraordinary.."
Zac is the man!! Homies from Arroyo Grande, CA for life 🤙🏼
Everyone who knew the boys is going to crawl out of the woodwork to tell their experiences, and they should.
As a big The Wrestler movie fan, I am excited for this one.
Same brutha! The Wrestler surprised me so much, I didn't think Mickey Roarke had that in him as an actor.
I was a little kid in Dallas watching the Von Eric's. I always loved them, especially when they fought the Free birds
I use to watch these brothers on TV as a kid. Loved them.
Its been a while, so happy to see Zac again!!! Great story!!
Zack is starting to be a fav actor now he’s been hitting bangs after bangers
This was truly a tragedy!!
Maybe the family was cursed because it was a real life tragedy the way most of the brothers passed.
Their story still makes my stomach unsettled till this day.
I'm glad their story is being told.
Woooooo 🎶🏟😎🤼🏼♂️
Amazing...watching this now from Dallas Texas y'all ( 75231)
I love zac efron for 10 year got bless u zac and take care
this looks amazing, i hope Zac gets an oscar nomination
Ahh yes! I love when you can watch the whole movie in the trailer
Sounds like you don't know the story
Lay off with the shitty comment and give the movie a chance
Yesss I’ve been waiting for somebody to tell this story, I grew watching them as a kid Von Eric’s!!!!
I really missed my younger days, time really flies . This movie remind me of those days
Man non wrestling fans will not be expecting the end of the film
Non wrestling fans are in for a ride.
Texas Tornado was my favourite wrestler ever, and I know of his family legacy, so I can't wait to watch this
Looking forward to this for sure
YESSSSS
🥇
Zac Efron is becoming better with age.
I’ll be at the theater for this one.
Glad to see they are giving a movie to the Von Erichs. Texas tornado was always one of my favorites. One of my all time fav matches to watch was the ultimate warriors verse the perfect team Survivor Series 1992. Can't wait to see this masterpiece
I think we have our authentic MCU WOLVERINE NOW. Height, weight, veteran actor. Zac Efron is wolverine.
The voice tho
Zac looks natural just like the rock 😂
Been waiting for this!
Saw Kerry Von Erich wrestle Kamala when I was younger live....will never forget!! My buddies would all practice The Claw on each other!
I can't wait to see this! My only small complaint is Zach Efron is built more like Kerry than Kevin in this movie. Kevin was leaner, while Kerry was jacked up like Arnold in Conan the Barbarian. Loved watching these guys wrestle as a kid.
내가 좋아하는 배우 두 명이나 나오네 ㅋㅋㅋ
Love zac. What an awesome cast. I dont like wrestling but i do love watching movies or shows about it. Heels is an awesome show too.
My nephew would watch the Von Erich's, so I started watching, too. It was fun to watch, and I had a crush on Kevin, so win win. What happened to this family was tragic.
