    This recipe is pretty close but to make it perfectly like Chuy's, cut the mayo in half and replace with buttermilk!

    So, everything looks like it is supposed to be, but no sour cream. Double the Mayo. Add a bit of the pickled jalapeno juice to keep things thin. Use a bit of buttermilk as well, but a key ingredient is their hatch green chili verde salsa. Add in a half of a small can of the chilis and I believe it is as close as you can get unless you use hatch green chili salsa from an HEB or Central Market.

    If I add pickled jalapeños, mayonise, little fresh yogurt instead of sourcream, garlic, cilantro
    In covid era I am unable to go to store and hop for the exact ingredients
    Will this work for my enchiladas side dip ?

    I know most recipes call for it but the mayo was too much- I used chipotle mayo but still, I'd use more like a quarter cup to the cup of sour cream. And I added roasted red peppers and jalapeno cream cheese to try and thicken it cuz it was more saucy then I wanted. Oh and cumin

    This is my favorite dip, but I hate mayo. I am sure you can't taste it, but would they really use that in the restaurant?? What does the mayo add that isn't accomplished with the other ingredients?

    • @StephanieManley
      @StephanieManley  Před 9 lety

      Tara Dwyre a bit of texture that you need for the sauce. The flavor of the mayo is fairly neutral.

    Chuy’s doesn’t use sour cream for this creamy jalapeño sauce. There are so many fake recipes for this sauce online claiming sour cream is an ingredient. I believe this is a scam and conspiracy. Anyone putting out a video like this saying this sauce has sour cream has no credibility whatsoever.

    If you are going to make Mexican food learn Spanish. Also, Hispanics are not going to use mayonnaise. They would use crema. Plus everything would be from scratch meaning no Hidden Valley Ranch mix. I know this is Chuys Tex Mex but if you want authenticity that's how you would do it.

I’m Mexican and this comment was dumb asf. It’s just like saying “you’re in America talk English” , quit criticizing on each other damn
