Though the lyrics in the actual song you think would be straight forward, the video brought it all to a different light for me!

The part where you are talking about the people with different ethnicities they are actual fans. I think that in behind the scenes video of SHAKE IT OFF there a scene where shes making them take an oath in her Taylor way promising not to disclose any details about the video until it drops. Awesome to have a chance to meet her let alone be immortalized in one of her videos.
The idea of the music video is putting her in the middle of professional dancers - ballet, hiphop, interpretative, modern, twerking, cheerleading. Taylor was mocked by media and some people whenever she dances in an award show -- telling her to stop doing it. Taylor herself, admitted that she's not a good dancer but when she's happy and feeling the music and performances, she dances and vibes with it...so what's wrong with dancing (even when you are not that good at it) when this makes you happy 😊

Funny part is, none of the newer pop stars who try to dance besides Dua now are even remotely close to dancing as good as Taylor though. I literally cringed at Benee's dancing in Supalonely, Ariana is meh, and Lorde I cannot even.
The group of people shes dancing with at the end are actual fans. They not only got to be in her music video but they had to keep quiet about her lead single from her brand new album! Nobody keeps secrets like swifties 💖
fun fact: on Tumblr many fans were noticing that she was leaving a dance studio a lot and theorized that she was filming a music video for "Holy Ground" off of her Red album but then she dropped this music video along with the single and it all made sense

Also good are the Red Tour acoustic performances on her channel; the SNL performances; any Live Lounge ---did he do her covers in the droplets? She does Riptide (Vance Joy toured with her) and Can't Stop Loving You (Phil Collins), as well as various songs of her own. Off Productions did a Red era show OFF the Seine; you can find different era live videos by searching for the year for Jingle Ball, Jingle Bell Ball, Summertime Ball, Wango Tango, or Big Weekend; you might also look at her tour appearances (see wikipedia) and see if she joined someone else's tour, or did a cameo (like she did in Chicago for the Rolling Stones---I didn't look for that, but it almost has to be somewhere). Also, he didn't look at the Crossroads set she did with Def Leopard yet. . . . . . . . . . . . . . so much Swift, so little time.😊

Taylor said she's been made fun of for her dancing a lot. People say she can't dance, or she looks weird and stuff. So this video is basically her dancing like herself next to all these real dancers. Like she used to say - the way for her to win is just keep doing her thing and have more fun doing it than the haters do.

Swifties are probably the most loyal fandom ever. When Taylor shares secret information with them they keep it quiet. They don't listen to leaks of music out of respect - I remember a story about a music store that accidently played reputation before the release date. Local Swifties found out about it, and instead of using it, sharing the music or anything like that, they told Taylor about it and made sure the owner notices their mistake and stop playing it. She's literally inviting dozens of fans before every album to her home and the don't leak information about it until they're allowed to. That's just crazy! Proud to be a Swiftie

Most of the real "Easter eggs" don't start until the end of 1989 with Out Of The Woods (there's a few in style like the necklace) but tons of cute little eggs and great symbolism throughout all the videos 🥰

shake it off is so cool even tho it's a "simple" mv, some of the people in it are professional dancers but some of them are just fans invited by Taylor to dance the way they want, without any coreography or whatever, i think it's so cool the way Taylor share the things with her fans! proud to be a swiftie

Speaking of RED, there are a few videos of the RED tour on her official youtube channel. They show with her guest artists in L.A. and Nashville. This might be the best way to experience at least some of the RED tour.

Everyone at the end of the video with Taylor are her fans she found online and wanted in the video. They had no idea they were going to be filming a music video with her that day. I have a friend that got to be in it. All of the 1989 videos are great so I’m excited for the rest
The people she's dancing with in the end are fans she surprised (you should really watch the behind the scenes/making of videos even if you don't record)
What I like most about this, is that this video falls into the "First Video" that a) showcases the lyrics b) demonstrates her sense of humor c) takes a shot at her critics. Blank Space, Shake it Off, Look What You Made Me Do, and ME! all seem to me to share these attributes. A lot of people focus on the choruses and never notice the lyrical messages behind them. But all of these songs are about the media and how they portray her; and that she can make fun of herself (and, always, them!). There is a REASON she releases these songs/videos first! All of them are over-exaggerated self-portraits (as distorted by media & haters), except ME! which is just a celebration of self, freedom, and again, that she refuses to take herself too seriously. Does ME! sound like a Disney soundtrack for kids? Why does everyone expect every song to sound serious? The point is to listen; is it fun? is the only real question.
I'm loving the series of binge watching music video but it's better than never.

I only remember when she got her cats in relation to the eras lol but she got Dr. Meredith Grey in between the Speak Now and RED eras, Detective Olivia Benson AKA Dibbles a few months before the 1989 release, and obviously Benjamin Button at the start of the Lover era.

I think the video was definitely her shaking off the haters who made fun of her dancing and her trying to fit into different styles of dance and never quite fitting in until the end when she found her true style and fans that she fit in with that love every part of her and help her shake off the negativity
Just had a thought that towards the end of the video all of the pro dancers begin to do the “shake it off” dance as well, showing that even being the best of the best in their respective fields, anyone can have critics and haters but they all choose to believe in themselves and not the opinion of others. Great start to the 1989 era!

Yes. Reputation wasn't bad but it was a shock to start with. Also delicate isnt my favorite song, sadly it was one of my least favorite songs from reputation sorry. But her singles for 1989 are all great songs.

As we get to these later eras, there is so much symbolism in her music videos. Really starting with Out of the Woods and LWYMMD and on from there. I think you’d find it interesting to watch a video of someone dissecting the videos and pointing out hidden Easter eggs and explaining their meaning. It’s crazy how many small things I overlooked. Someone I enjoy watching is Lauren Lipman. She does her research.

Prior to this era, people were really shitting on her for dancing during award shows (which they always show because, duh she's Taylor Swift). They kept telling her she couldn't dance. So in this video she put herself in different dance groups/styles which she obviously does not belong to because she's not a dancer. Her true self is in the last group in the end where she's just having fun and letting loose, not having to fit in a specific dance group/style

When it comes to Easter eggs for 1989, I think it's really only Wildest Dreams and Out of The Woods that have them. There's a small one in Style, but I think that's it. Also, quite a LOT of symbolism in Out Of The Woods
