The Chrome one-buttom counter edgeguard is so effective with K Rool, I respect KK for only taking one stock with it because I would've cheesed him as much as possible
two stocks. Both first stocks were deleted that way.
No matter the sword, they all break against the King's gut.

I don't mind swordfighter mains by themselves. But I do hate that Ultimate has SO many top tier anime boys with swords that look so identical as a spectator. I am glad we get some quality K.rool matches though.

@@spicymeatballs2thespicening i don't think its that bad until krool has to recover. Sephiroth can spam down air at the ledge and spike krool quite easily
@@spicymeatballs2thespicening its literally so bad. The mobility, the good counter, the projectile, he has good tools to deal with Krool
I'll give my take as well gentlemen: sephiroths range makes it pretty difficult for krool to land aerials primarily due to fair spacing. Dair covers recovery rather easily forcing krool to recover differently. However that can cause being suspect to ftilt, up, and forward smash alike.
It really is a horrid matchup that enforces the player to play alot differently than usual with krools neutral.

K Rool don’t do bad against swordies, k Rool armour helps him in the match up. Nair is good against swordies.

Well with Chrom, any time Chrom has to recover low K Rool has a nearly guaranteed counter.
@@timhiltz6323 Can confirm as a K. Rool main, nair is unbeatable when you're fighting swordies. It's stupidly strong against any and every of their attacks, and easily neutralizes most of their hits. I'll never forget short-hop nairing in place when swordies try to f-smash me. It's exhilarating. Don't even get me started on their recoveries...
I was honestly a little frustrated when I saw Kirby neglecting Nair. It's got health, yes, but that thing can take a hit. A hit, as in literally every attack in the game minus some powerful(instant ko) and fully charged smash attacks. It also regens extremely quickly, so it's an absolutely viable move against swordies of every kind. But in short, yes, K. Rool thrives against swordies.
With the k Rool buffs now, he will do even better now.

One question that I have is when you have a sword character like Roy why most of the time they don’t do a counter in a serious situation?
Counter has huge endlag on it if it misses which can basically always lead to a lost stock at pro league level in which players dont drop combos (meaning less room for counter in the forst place as it can be true) and know how to set up kills. On top of this pro players can also be very good at reading it. Counter is a suprise mixup but tends to be used more as a bane to certain edge guards. Its hard to balance when and when to not use a counter.
