I work at Target and we throw away so much stuff, the policy being "if you wouldn't buy it yourself off the shelf, then it's damaged", damaged being either salvage or thrown out. And all it takes is a small scratch on the box, product inside can be perfectly fine. Not sure as to how much salvage is actually salvaged and not thrown away. Also insane amounts of food product is thrown away because of the date stamped on the box, rarely donated.
They didn’t waste merchandise to my knowledge but when I worked for forever 21 (worst job I ever had) I was absolutely appalled at the sheer amount of plastic that we would throw in a dumpster on a daily basis. Each UNIT would come wrapped inside like 5 separate plastic bags, so if we had a box with 60 units...you do the math. It was just so unnecessary. I already felt guilty enough about forever 21’s heinously marked up prices for clearly cheap sweatshop-made clothing that was just going to fall apart. I felt like an absolute corporate robot working there.
SmashingSnow but I also worked for Lush cosmetics for a while which was, as you can imagine, a lot more environmentally and ethically conscious and I enjoyed working there for the most part
SmashingSnow don’t give up! I know the struggle. Stay motivated and make sure to call back after you apply. I was never ashamed to bug those people into actually looking at my damn application. Lol
I really have trouble believing much ever made it to the trash destroyed. Because you can bet if I worked at Gamestop, the second my boss (if he had corporate's hand up his butt) turned his back I'd either be asking customers if they wanted a discontinued game/accessory/etc for the system they just purchased something for and discretely slip something into their bag, or I'd stop destroying the stuff, then put it in a box and leave it conspicuously next to the trash for a while before dumping it in.
I unfortunately haven’t shopped in a GameStop in years because I had my card info stolen, I later found out the bogus charges were by one the employees at that location
So, here's a story, and I'm wondering if this ever happened at your location. So around the time Pokemon HG/SS was coming out they had posters up for the two games. I asked if I could get the Soul Silver poster and the guy working there said yes. He took my name and number, wrote them down on a little sticker and put it on the back of the poster, I watched the dude do this. I come back about a week or so later and see the poster is gone, I ask where it went and they say they gave it to a customer who asked for it. I did mentioned I'd had them put my name down for it first, but nothing really came of it. Definitely made me fairly peeved.
Buying physical copies of games without cases is so annoying. I get its for space issues, but ugh. :/ They cut wires from the controllers and threw them away?! Thats horrible. :(
Agreed, that's why I never bought DS games there after they did that and never will. It sucks that they do that, but if you've watched the channels that dumpster dive and then sell those broken controllers or games back, you'll see why.
It annoys me so much, I've only bought one ds game from Gamestop. That was a copy of Pokémon Black 2. At the time I thought "I'll probably get the case when I buy the game." I was so disappointed when I just got the cartridge.
I dont have a channel, I dive because I get the thrill out of finding good things BUT i found 14 consoles last year 10 of them worked fine, 12 various controllers and 175 games last year. This year so far NO consoles, 4 controllers, and about 100 Games. I dont know about those with channels but I can tell you i found some good stuff.
I've watched a lot of those dumpster diver videos and always wondered if they were real. Babe, you're so close to 15k I'm so proud of you 💕 💕 I love you so
I work at a university library and we waste a lot of old books which, I get, since they fall apart and get your hands dirty if you just poke them, but when we throw out books we have to physically destroy them - we cut the pages out of the spine of the book, rip them into multiple pieces, and recycle them. And a lot of these books are really informative - books about certain diseases, older text books, etc. that people could use! (our "used book" section at the uni book store is a fucking scam, a $150 book gets lowered to $120 dollars which is still stupidly expensive for a book you're only gonna use for a couple of months)
Some of it is practical: The Data in the books may be outdated, an old version, some are digitally free by now, etc. The other side is pure economics. It sounds ugly at first, but it makes sense: you can't have too much free product out there. IF all stores (clothes, electronics, even restaurants) gave away their left-over products after clearance--then you basically ruin the market. The prices of a lot of product would go down. Sounds great right? Well, the games, for example, cost money up front to make. They need to make their money back plus profit. If you have a bunch of free leftover copies, it makes new copies devalue monetarily. Same goes for food: why even bother buying food if you can just wait for the end of the day when they give away their leftovers? It would ruin a lot of markets. There's really no "great" solution for the leftover product. The best they've got is to just throw them away, which is not amazing. Is it waste? Yes. But digital discs are better and less waste than cartridges of years ago, because those had a lot of components, not just one single plastic.
Chris meet Eric he loves Tank Tops and long walks on the beach also he enjoys his dirty mind when communicating with anyone who wil listen . Also he has alot of love to give ... i sayed it b4 but its tru the man needs a good partner next to him while he milks his racoons on his farm and maybe you wil share the same vision of selling those tanktops and retiring to Detroit and life happily ever after ;)
I work at a convenience store and we actually try to waste as little as possible. All of our cardboard gets taken to the recycling center. We recycle any pop cans or plastic bottles we use or that customers give us after they're done with them or whatever. We have a kitchen area that makes hot dogs, breakfast sandwiches, soup, cinnamon buns, muffins; that kind of stuff. Any time that there's extra food we are allowed to just take it home for dinner or eat it on shift. Like if the breakfast sandwiches aren't selling and it's nearly 1pm we get to eat them. My one coworker takes home leftover hot dogs and smokies for her dogs. There's also a box in the walk in cooler of produce that is still ok but not fit to sell to customers. Things like blueberries where some on the bottom look smooshed or there's 1 or 2 on the bottom with mold. A lot of us employees will just take the blueberries home, sort through them a but and pick out the bad ones and keep the rest. Pizza slices that haven't sold for 2 days are free to employees, same with oranges or apples or bananas that look a bit off but are still edible or just close to their ripe date. It's nice really, that we try our best to waste as little as possible. Much better than just throwing away a whole pack of blueberries because 1 blueberry doesn't look so good, or trashing all of our cardboard from cigarette or pepperoni or pepsi/coke orders we had to unbox.
Where I used to work, they were changing out the fake flower stem racks, and the old ones had shelves that had ceramic pots holding the stems. When we switched them out for the new ones, the company got a big dumpster, and I had to help wheel them out, then the fun part: we broke them up and put the pieces in the dumpster. Honestly, by that time, that's where those racks should have went. One customer did convince one of our managers to tell us to set some of the better ones aside, but the vast majority we just had SO much fun busting more pot(s) than the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office!
It's probably not going to be retail based. Sure there may be some episodes about it or it may get mentioned, but I definitely don't have enough to talk about for a podcast AND a weekly series lol
I believe that the paper or the cardboard that GameStop throws away, could be recycled instead of throwing it in the trash. So wasteful....if you can't find anyone to give it to I mean. Also having to cut the cord from the controller just pisses me off to no end.
Alot of the cover art probably wasn't able to be recycled because of the gloss coating on them. I could be wrong, but I remember hearing that those plastic coated paper cups can't be recycled so I'm guessing it's the same sort of thing.
Awesome video! My day is always Fanta-Tastic after a Tales from Retail! You crack a beer, I spark my bong & it's always a great time! Can't wait for the Podcast! It will be epic! I just started podcasting myself! It's awesome!
the only reason i go to gamestop anymore is for their game merch. figurines, cards, backpacks, that sort of thing. it's not cause of a fault on gamestop's part, but moreso a fault on behalf of playstation. i'm prone to losing things, so i like having my purchases connected to my account so i can easily download them to a new system. buying a disc means you have to pay separately for a digital download, so it leads to a lot of wasted money. also, having to put the disc in every time instead of easily switching from the main menu is a pain. i'd love to have a physical collection, but it's not worth the hassle. hopefully console companies can work together with retailers so they don't lose business. it's a shame, really.
Gamestop being a toy store for the most part is true. I went to my local one at the mall and I was like "wtf I was in here not too long ago but its totally changed"
I got Pokemon Diamond from Gamestop a few months ago and to my surprise they had an actual Pokemon Diamond case, there was no manual though. But how great it would be if they had the case AND manual?
KrisTheShapeshifter Wolf I know, some Gamestops still sell ds games with the box. It is rare though you'll find the booklet and box together, but I guess it means that if they have the space for them they'll have the regular ds games too. Just buying the Pokemon heartgold and soulsilver games, cartridge only and used, almost $45 each. Crazy!
My local store always hangs onto stuff on a first come, first serve basis. They take names after first claiming dibs. Way the employee sees it, if someone walks off with cardboard, they don't have to deal with it themselves.
Same here, we used to love that people would be getting rid of all of those standees for us. I noticed those kind of stopped being a thing too. I think the last standee I saw in a GameStop was one of those boring pop up tube ones.
gamestop by my house threw away smash bros 3ds stand of mario doing some sick smash shit and it was folded in half, i reallly thought about taking it home
If you think that's bad, Old Navy wastes tons of plastic bags. The clothes arrive in plastic, the logistics people remove them from the plastic, that plastic is then balled up into a plastic rubbish bag. Most of the people don't even fill those bags very full. Its then tossed away. However, when I worked there, I'd find the largest plastic bag from one of the shipments removed from the garment, and I'd use that bag to put the other plastic bags from the other garments into. I was saving the ones on the roll entirely. When I told the DM about this, he shrugged his shoulders and didn't act impressed at all. Mind you, this is a California based company that is supposed to care about "being green." There is nothing green about plastic or the enormous waste they process every week. Multiply that x all of the retail clothing stores, and that's a lot of plastic.
The wii balance boards were the staple at thrift shops in my area. Every thrift shop had a stack of wii balance boards, at least until one of my friends tried to find them, then they were no where to be found.
What I don't understand is why not put the stuff in a trash bag, place it by the dumpster, than before you leave walk around to the back, take the bag home and sell on eBay?
I got Ace Attorney Investigations with a box at Gamestop. I was actually confused that they had it. But a great find. Of course they weren't that generous with Apollo Justice and Danganronpa on Vita but whatever
"It's always well thought-out, well-written..." Exactly. Some of the "strategy guides" I have struggled with online are so vague, you could be searching them to find out how you activate V.A.T.S. in Fallout 4, and walk away more confused than before you started. No, I am not exaggerating.
use to work for a catering company ,they waste tons of food going into the trash can, seen a video that walmart does that. thanks for the video FANTAVISION.
At the ski place I work at its sad to see a big waist on our ski poles. Many people try to stop with the poles and they just snap or bend. But I found alot of good stuff in that lost and found.
I work in a recycling place that dumps GameStop's trash dumpster. True story, they waste alot of shit. I'm always grabbing controllers and promo stuff they throw away. Sometimes games as well.
One time when I asked if I could have a promotional standee and the worker said they cannot give it to people because a poster was featured in some bad clan meeting or something and they got in trouble
I know you said your surprised about dumpster diving, but I find many things and about 20 strategy guides. I've also found a xbox 360 in the dumpster. I'm in the Detroit Toledo area. They are insane how much they throw away.
I know what you mean about the game case issue. I buy games online mostly and Ill only buy it if it comes with the case because I like looking at my collection right on the shelf. Recently I bought Morrowind on the Xbox and it even came with the poster from 2002 and I was amazed. They didn't tell me it was going to be in there but I scored big time
10:30 This bit made me remember when Twilight Princess had just come out, and how often I would flip open the hard-cover guide just to look over the screenshots and read through how to solve puzzles I had trouble with. A bunch of my old guides are really elaborate, with page designs that looked like they came from a tutorial menu in-game. It's kinda saddening to hear that so many of those books are sent to be thrown away. :/
wheres my boy oprah at, prob out there trolling managers at his current job make sure you tell em "well why dont you fire me" lol engraved in my head ,im waiting for the right time to script steal that phrase and use it on my managers
I worked at Target in the earlier 90's and they had a cage where all the returned merch. was put..like if a game system had a controller that didnt work..or a stereo that had a speaker that didnt work ..etc..the whole system or stereo or whatever it was would get trashed. There was one person in charge of that cage and m-f they worked and they filed the paperwork for each item but they would junk almost all of it in the end in the enclosed trash container so no one could dive for this material.
Your commentary skills are really good for a guy with only 14k subs you should definitely try and branch out to more topics other than the flaws of working at various store chains
That means a lot man, thanks! I'm going to continue to do at least one to two gaming videos a week along with my Tales from Retail series. Don't know what else I'd do commentary on since gaming has been a hobby my whole life. If I had a bigger following, I'd probably tell life stories and discuss experiences.
Lol the way you describe GameStop's waste sounds like the #1 leading cause to environmental damage Hahahahahahahhaha hooks of used condoms in the back room
We recently had this thing where stores would call other stores from different districts and whoever answered the phone had to mention trades twice during the call. And if you didn't the store got penalized. The ironic part is my store has so many trades that we end the nights with a negative deposit because we give so much money away, which corporate doesnt like. Also, if someone buys a gift card or amything that isnt a game it counts as a negative transaction for the cards, gpg, and pre owned. This company is so fucked
Fanta I'm a former employee and frequent buyer and you're totally right, I don't want some shitty printed cover case, I want the real thing and I'm even willing to buy a new copy instead of a pre owned IF the case is shitty. I 100% agree with the logic that it loses you money because it's lost a lot of GameStop's my money for that crap.
Agreed, the only time I go into GameStop anymore is because of credit or some loophole I can use. Pretty much everything I buy comes from Best Buy now since it's cheaper to buy a new game there with GCU then a used game at GameStop.
FANTAVISION Hey Fanta I have a question for ya.. when all these retail stories are done, will you do a gaming channel? I think your channel has a huge potential to be a good Let's Play because you definitely know your games and I see both you and and the other guy as a Angry Joe and Other Joe kinda duo.
I'm definitely going to keep doing gaming content on here, but if I start getting viewer stories, Tales from Retail could go on for quite a while. This channel would really have to explode though to make it as a Let's Play channel. Also, we do quite a bit of streaming already so maybe that will turn into something soon too.
FANTAVISION That's understandable but just realize that you two do make a good duo, you really might be in the conversation with AJ and OJ one day but it's totally your channel. I think I'd definitely like if you did reviews and game discussions as well as what you're doing.
I'm thinking of reintroducing reviews to the channel in the future actually! We'll see if I get the extra time to do it. Definitely won't be my scripted, super edited review videos that I used to do since they didn't get anything for views lol
Actually almost ALL businesses have waste now days! I used to work in fast food, and the turnover from breakfast to lunch always made me sad! So much awesome food was lost!
The Wii balance Boards actually sell really good for me right now. $10 Canadian for the board and game, will sell in a day. The other items you used to throw out, I pretty much do the same thing. All the accessories for Wii, and any extra Wii condoms. They are useless and nobody wants them. I either chuck them or throw them in with a Wii I have to sell.
Those Wii condoms thing, I never really used them so I stored them away. I think they just yellowed over time, at least mine did, idk about everyone else's though. It's either that or on one of the few occasions we used them people were eating chips and then playing so I could see how they could get yellowed that way (also sweat, like if you're playing just dance with those things on, sweat is gonna get all over that shit)
Aren't a lot of the figures and toys for all those games like Skylanders where you have to have a bunch of separate accessories for the game? I liked those games when they first started, but there were just too many figures to keep up with, and by the time I found a good amount, they made a new game with new figures and they throw out all the old ones. Also, do they throw out all the old figures, because if so I've got some dumpster diving to do.
I'm guessing the controller condom coloration was from food on people's hands, or maybe even smoking. And I think there's a lot of wasted cases and discs and shit. Honestly I'd take cases for like a buck if they just had a shelf of them out, or hell I'd definitely collect cases if they set them out for free.
I like some of their t-shirts and some video game collectables but I mainly go their for games. I haven't had any bad experiences at Gamestop and I've been shopping there for years. I also love watching dumpster diving videos at Gamestop
I has a wii for 6 years when I was little and 2 controllers with condoms after those 6 years one was clear and looking new and one was brown and had no idea why ones looked used and one was clean
Yea I went in there today just to browse (dead as a door nail I might add in the middle of the day) and I saw all that crap in the front. I even saw a HELLO NEIGHBOR plushy lol
I'm glad lowes doesn't penny things out, they go level 5 non-stock. Meaning 5-10% of orig cost, I forget. We did throw out good stuff unfortunately. Mostly good light bulbs and nuts, bolts, screws, bits, little stuff. GS sounds wasteful.
Hm, I never thought about them being called controller condoms. I usually called it the Wiimote foreskin. My preference was to use the Wiimote uncircumcised cause the foreskin was bulky and annoying.
at your GameStop location, you say strategy guides didn't make it to the dumpster because you and other people wanted them. I found TONS of guides in GameStop dumpsters. I've also found controllers (both wired and wireless). At one time, I had about 30 Wii controllers....yes, a lot of the wired ones had cut cables, but not all of them) . I've got TONS of DS cases and I also cashed in those Nintendo Rewards points and got a couple t-shirts with them...in 10-15 years when DS is considered retro, I have game cases. I didn't care what game it was for, if it was a case, I kept it. I also found TONS of PS2 games in one night. They threw out 2-3 drawers worth in sleeves. About 100 games per drawer, $1 a game, I sold 'em on eBay! I got $300 minus eBay & PayPal fee's for 10 minutes of dumpster diving....
All of the t-shirts and collectible shit in GameStop wouldn't really bother me if it was strictly video game related. But why the hell do they have shelves upon shelves of crap for Marvel, Star Wars, My Little Pony, Disney, DC, anime, and toys that aren't even related to some media franchise? And why is GameStop the only store that seems to lock their fucking trading cards? Yeah, I get that they're easy to shoplift, but Walmart and Target don't do that, and those stores are much bigger than GameStop. Are you really trying to tell me that an employee wouldn't see someone try to shove a couple packs of cards down their pants? God, remember when GameStop also tried selling DVD's?
I was really confused how dumpster divers found anything, we only tossed out literal garbage, and broken products. Maybe cheap notebooks or pencils at best. Luckily, we donate human/pet food past the best by date so that never gets trashed. Maybe the company's warehouse tosses out a lot of product?
With games going digital I wonder what will happen with gamestop. Will they adapt or die? I mean if you can just sell their trash then that's wasting money and the way they screw you over is insane.
Really a shame that they throw away marketing for games, collectors pay good money for that stuff, I've seen certain marketing stuff go for thousands of dollars on Ebay. When the MediEvil remaster comes out I'm going to try and get any marketing stuff I can, but now I worry I wont be able to, I may have to run out of the store with the shit. lol I will not miss out on it, not gonna happen.
Yeah, I can tell it's going to shit. The last time I went there, I dealt with some guy who was a douche to anyone who didn't pre-order far cry 5. Their selection of games seems to be getting worse every day too. It's ridiculous. Couldn't find anything other than the most recent games. They were dumb enough to sell me a New 3ds for the price of an old 3ds lmao. That's the only redeeming aspect of gamestop for me.
Funny I had the opposite problem when I was like six got Lego Harry Potter for my birthday but I didn't want it so my parents went back to GameStop exchanged it for another game and I was really into Angry Birds on my mom's phone cuz it kept me distracted and so I was like I'll just get Angry Birds for the Xbox really bad decision by the way but the case was disgusting it had like brown Speckles everywhere and it didn't smell good when I opened it it was sticky it's like why would you keep that case and I was the only one they had to it would have made sense just throw that case out and put it in those flimsy plastic things they have
I started dying laughing when you were taking about the used condoms lmao!!! I could see that you were trying not to laugh talking about them too and it made me laugh even harder XD
I'm a teen, I walked into a GameStop because my friend wanted a psn card, I accidentally knocked off a glass and they told me it was 30 bucks, I only have 25 because we where gonna watch ready player one, and movie snacks are HELLA expensive. Anyways, he tells me this for like a minute, I go into panic mode and just freeze, and then he just says that it's like 8 bucks... And I don't have to pay for it, bruh I got scared
EB Games and various e-game stores used to sell all the tcgs, toys, books, videos and novelties before going all e-games before the buyout. What Gamestop is doing with the novelties and tcgs is merely bringing it all back. It's all mixed reception which I can understand.
Thanks for watching everyone, and I hope you enjoyed this week's episode! Grandma Oprah Eric Eastwood and I will be streaming some more Banjo Kazooie on Twitch tonight at around 8PM MST. Come hang out with us! www.twitch.tv/fafafanta

Peachy Kiwi thanks for the taking the time to reply. I have yet to find a job myself I do hope I can get a job at this tabletop/ comic shop nearby
SmashingSnow don’t give up! I know the struggle. Stay motivated and make sure to call back after you apply. I was never ashamed to bug those people into actually looking at my damn application. Lol
"Gamestop sold used condoms"
I have the maturity of a 12 year old apparently because that killed me
I really have trouble believing much ever made it to the trash destroyed. I got a free 4k tv while I was working. The Microsoft rep was gonna throw it away. I was like "say what!?,gimmie that. Ginnie Dat Shizz!!"
Tim Spencer That's wild bruh
Whaaaaat?! That's awesome man!
FANTAVISION it was my last week so I guess it was a parting gift or something. Also, nice vid! 🤗
Who would throw away a 4k tv? Those are expensive compared to other lower definition tvs. That is a dumb thing to do.
So, here's a story, and I'm wondering if this ever happened at your location. So around the time Pokemon HG/SS was coming out they had posters up for the two games. maybe 2 separate workers promised a poster to different customers and they didn't properly communicate to each other?
Buying physical copies of games without cases is so annoying. I get its for space issues, but ugh. :/
They cut wires from the controllers and threw them away?! Thats horrible. :(
InvaderBethanyGames I know I feel bad for the controllers lol
Agreed, that's why I never bought DS games there after they did that and never will. It sucks that they do that, but if you've watched the channels that dumpster dive and then sell those broken controllers or games back, you'll see why.

Mike X - What kind of consoles? What gen?
I have found in the past Xbox 360s, PS3s, A Wii a couple of weeks ago, and an XBox One Slim, had a MoBo Issue but still cool to find.
"It was nasty cause we had loads of used yellow condoms in the back" That out of context would be great
I've watched a lot of those dumpster diver videos and always wondered if they were real. Babe, you're so close to 15k I'm so proud of you 💕 💕 I love you so

I hate how much retail and businesses waste my job so stingy they get mad when we eat the extra plates of food or the dried up crap from buffets.
This is gonna be an epic stream tonight with Fanta and Eric i cannot wait .
10$ says Eric is wearing a tank top again
I can almost guarantee he'll be wearing a tank top
I hope his girl friend teaches him how to dress someday ;)
If I had Eric’s bod i’d wear a tank top too
Well it cant be ures for the low low prize of 10$ ;) And btw he is single i believe and Eric does have so much love to give .
Chris meet Eric he loves Tank Tops and long walks on the beach also he enjoys his dirty mind when communicating with anyone who wil listen .
Also he has alot of love to give ... i sayed it b4 but its tru the man needs a good partner next to him while he milks his racoons on his farm and maybe you wil share the same vision of selling those tanktops and retiring to Detroit and life happily ever after ;)
Jesus, the whole condom situation could be taken completely out of context xD
Neo God and it will, because internet
DragonsREpic ???
DragonsREpic I don't think you should be near any children and the internet
You could call a podcast about reatail experiences something like "Not For Resale" or "Recalled"
FANTAVISION oh alright then thanks for letting me know
Awesome video! My day is always Fanta-Tastic after a Tales from Retail! You crack a beer, I spark my bong & it's always a great time! Can't wait for the Podcast! It will be epic! I just started podcasting myself! It's awesome!
Podcasting is definitely a ton of fun but also a lot of work lol
the only reason i go to gamestop anymore is for their game merch. figurines, cards, backpacks, that sort of thing. it's not cause of a fault on gamestop's part, but moreso a fault on behalf of playstation. i'm prone to losing things, so i like having my purchases connected to my account so i can easily download them to a new system. buying a disc means you have to pay separately for a digital download, so it leads to a lot of wasted money. also, having to put the disc in every time instead of easily switching from the main menu is a pain. i'd love to have a physical collection, but it's not worth the hassle. hopefully console companies can work together with retailers so they don't lose business. it's a shame, really.
I'm surprised GS didn't sell this stuff they would otherwise throw away.
Because that would just make too much sense XD
GameStop treats their used games like garbage and expects you to pay like they’re treasure.
Crazy!
Managed to get a COMPLETE copy of platinum
Throwing away strategy guides and systems???What the hell GAMESTOP???
Nose and Tail. Those "fins" on a skateboard are the nose and tail.
Thanks!
Game stop selling toys I go to the game stop in the mall I always ship at and they have statues and lots of toys every where
kevin collects I know lol bunch of stuffed animals everywhere!!!
"It's always well thought-out, well-written..."
Exactly.
But I found alot of good stuff in that lost and found.
i thought u cant throw out electronic stuff to the landfell it cost the environment bad.
I work in a recycling place that dumps GameStop's trash dumpster. True story, they waste alot of shit. I'm always grabbing controllers and promo stuff they throw away. Sometimes games as well.
Dear God I feel old.... Last time I was at a GameStop was purchasing The Elder Scrolls III Morrowind with a strategy guide. Great video as always
One time when I asked if I could have a promotional standee and the worker said they cannot give it to people because a poster was featured in some bad clan meeting or something and they got in trouble
I never understood why they where called controller condoms
Good point on the physical guide vs internet. Its like a real book vs Kindle. Just feels better
0:21 You forgot to say Phill Collins, Just sayin'
Phil Collins was heroin man's girlfriend remember?
zap1316 do you remember the name of the Phil Collins and Heroin Man video?
Watch 17:00 with no context behind it
Edit: also 18:00
wheres my boy oprah at, prob out there trolling managers at his current job make sure you tell em "well why dont you fire me" lol engraved in my head ,im waiting for the right time to script steal that phrase and use it on my managers
Lol the way you describe GameStop's waste sounds like the #1 leading cause to environmental damage
Hahahahahahahhaha hooks of used condoms in the back room
I found a fat PS3 and original Xbox in my GameStop’s dumpster. They lock their dumpster however so I didn’t get them...
If that's true bro id of gone back with bolt cutters got them out and left them a new dollar padlock
I used to watch gamestop dumpster diving videos and the shit people would find was insane
That slow zoom was perfect
That's when someone else walks in and hears what you're watching
"Used condoms everywhere"
Actually almost ALL businesses have waste now days!
I used to work in fast food, and the turnover from breakfast to lunch always made me sad!
So much awesome food was lost!
The Wii balance Boards actually sell really good for me right now. $10 Canadian for the board and game, will sell in a day. The other items you used to throw out, I pretty much do the same thing. All the accessories for Wii, and any extra Wii condoms. They are useless and nobody wants them. I either chuck them or throw them in with a Wii I have to sell.
That's awesome! Wouldn't shipping cost a bit though due to the size and weight?
FANTAVISION I'm sure it would but I'm just talking about selling locally on Facebook or Kijiji.
I always watch the gamestop dumpster diving videos and they always amaze me how much you can find
I do find guides with covers cut off and lots of posters. USB cords can be repaired/replaced.
I’ve been dumpster diving around our GameStop, and oof. Some good shit you can find especially controllers. But they would sometimes cut the wires
Thanks for the videos! :) Always make me feel better about my job after hearing your stories. Keep it up my good man!
Mr. Fanta please make more old school videos like this 🥺
What happened to all the Ps2 games that they stopped selling were they all just thrown out?
ThugKnight yeap
I'm glad lowes doesn't penny things out, they go level 5 non-stock. Meaning 5-10% of orig cost, I forget. We did throw out good stuff unfortunately. Mostly good light bulbs and nuts, bolts, screws, bits, little stuff. GS sounds wasteful.
Theres still a lot pf gamestops up here in michigan that still have there original ds boxes but only a few. Another thing gamestop has ruined.
Hm, I never thought about them being called controller condoms. I usually called it the Wiimote foreskin. My preference was to use the Wiimote uncircumcised cause the foreskin was bulky and annoying.
I remember getting alot of free stuff from my local game stop, granted I was really really good friends with all the workers there
at your GameStop location, you say strategy guides didn't make it to the dumpster because you and other people wanted them.
I want Oprah "Eric" Clitwood!!!!! Lol nice vid as always Fanta
You and I missed the Twitch plug opportunity lol
With games going digital I wonder what will happen with gamestop. Will they adapt or die? I mean if you can just sell their trash then that's wasting money and the way they screw you over is insane.
My sister broke our tv when she didn’t use the wriststrap, damn you just dance
Really a shame that they throw away marketing for games, collectors pay good money for that stuff, I've seen certain marketing stuff go for thousands of dollars on Ebay.
When the MediEvil remaster comes out I'm going to try and get any marketing stuff I can, but now I worry I wont be able to, I may have to run out of the store with the shit. lol
I will not miss out on it, not gonna happen.
I got the BOTW stand from my GameStop, I love it and am using it now to display stuff =)
The case is part of the physical media experience. It's partly why I buy the carts.
Funny I had the opposite problem when I was like six got Lego Harry Potter for my birthday but I didn't want it so my parents went back to GameStop exchanged it for another game and I was really into Angry Birds on my mom's phone cuz it kept me distracted and so I was like I'll just get Angry Birds for the Xbox really bad decision by the way but the case was disgusting it had like brown Speckles everywhere and it didn't smell good when I opened it it was sticky it's like why would you keep that case and I was the only one they had to it would have made sense just throw that case out and put it in those flimsy plastic things they have
I would say my local Gamestop's are like 40% toys and clothes.
these are better than podcasts for me.
Thanks! There may be a podcast soon though lol
Fanta Time! Can't wait to hear the podcast!!
Apparently, there is a vid by BPGR saying that GS is imploding...
I started dying laughing when you were taking about the used condoms lmao!!! I could see that you were trying not to laugh talking about them too and it made me laugh even harder XD
Have a good night Fanta
I just found this channel it's awesome !
Thanks SillyCalf!
Oh haha he was just messin with you then. Glad to hear he wasn't serious XD
EB Games and various e-game stores used to sell all the tcgs, toys, books, videos and novelties before going all e-games before the buyout. What Gamestop is doing with the novelties and tcgs is merely bringing it all back. It's all mixed reception which I can understand.
I don’t play video games without strategy guides. I hate it. I’m very much a completionist and I can’t stand playing without them.
I'm not surprised...Gamestop has a sister company/store called ThinkGeek and they sell merch and sucks...
