Buncha users already pointed this out, but dang! Mario Kart with CTR's Blue Fire and Reserves system is such a fun concept. The Crash karting series is most likely my favorite because of how mechanically engaging the drift system is, with the rhythmic button presses and boost chaining
I am so glad more people played CTR. Its such a fun game to TT

It was like keeping the kart fed by being good at the game's mechanics
Dude the Mini Beast is an actual BEAST! It’s so busted with that purple mini turbo. Hope ZPL doesn’t nerf it too much LOL
I feel like the best way to balance the purple mini turbos would be to decrease the amount of speed they give you, but also increase the speed in which you gain purples. That would nerf them on the simple tracks that they currently dominate on, and buff them on the complicated tracks where they struggle to get purples.
Honestly it's partially the inside drift in this video, which isn't part of the native pulsar this pack is built on. But it can easily be modified cause open source.
So it's basically like how it works in CTR, where you keep the speed of the boost pad while doing miniturbos

This is a very cool mechanic that Nintendo should look at. It’s kind of like Crash Team Racing’s blue fire

Retro rewind always finds new ways to delight me! I can’t wait for 6.0v
i feel like the inside drift/purple mts would work better as their own seperate thing; you could either have inside drift or the extra level of miniturbo, as an option similarly to drift types. this way you could also apply this to some outside drift bikes that just kind of suck because they get no compensation for losing a level of mini turbo.
This is much better with outside drift since MTs are much easier to charge on corners and snake on straightaways.
It's like a completely different racing game where the goal is to keep chaining mini turbos, pretty interesting approach

I need to get this mod on Dolphin, if nothing else for how cool the Time Trials mode will be with the purple miniturbos and the staff ghosts. Just need to put batteries in my Wii Remote xD

PRB gave my cousin major wrist injuries, anyone who's tried it can see why, the ds dpad was kinda mushy and it required CONSTANT left+right spamming to build the mini boost.

it would be really cool if someone made a mod where whenever the item roulette selects something, a number (let's say 50) of that item just plops out onto the track. that would be so chaotic

The purple mini turbo would probably be balanced if the karts were outside drift as intended. Inside drift looks so wrong on karts.

Has anyone successfully gotten this mod running on Android dolphin? It took me forever to get around SAF (by using PC) but I think I must have all the files in the wrong part of the folder because starting with riivolution patches doesn't do jack.
