Well, you have good taste then. Except for a taste in words. That ghastly word you used at the end of your statement. I want to execute everyone who uses it again, because I'm a grumpy old fart! Not literally, of course. But come on, old man, use a better word to describe the experience. The English language is being wiped away bit by bit, just by the overuse of buzzwords and unecessary abbreviations, contractions and lazy conveniences used for the benefit of getting it over and done with as quickly and easily as possible.
Many thanks for all these. It's beautiful background music for work but also brings back so many memories of when TV was a luxury and not an essential! Long before the digital age, I heard there was a "test card appreciation club" where people would meet and share their videos of test cards.. Not as daft as it sounds.
Isn't this great buddy! The tune that starts 25:28 is just excellent. This tape compliments Positron perfectly by being so different:-) Fantastic to hear full tape plays on Y.T after all these years! Amazing work as always M.G! Thank-you :-)
The track at 25:28 there was another version of the track from a different BBC tape. It had standard piano and flute playing. I cannot recall which tape though.
I think the first version of the track at 25:28 was first heard on Green Leaves of Summer tape with vocalists. Then the next version of the trsck (the one I was thinking of) appeared on Autumn in New York tape on BBC2. I found It on one of Christopher Williams mocks.
@@dvidclapperton The Rainy Day Song, the other version was track 2 on BBC2's "Autumn In New York" tape (the opening and closing sections compiled from Syd Dale's album, "Love Isn't Just For The Young"). The tape ran from November 1983 to around June 1985.
I not listening this one for 25 years it quite a while back also on BBC2 Wales as a Opt-Out in 1988 to 1995 Songs Of Life. It's very kind of you for upload and thank you and cheeers magicgeezer, but look out for more BBC1 and BBC2 Testcard Music to be more uploads soon, anyway have got BBC2's Winter Walking second version songs and tunes complete had 28 tunes and tracks from April 1979 fancy you can upolad too.
I still think it’s an Australian tv, but a nice touch as it shows the testcard as it would have been on a well adjusted tv, not seeing the full edges is the way most tvs were setup. But the convergence was never that 😊 good.
Yes It was always good to hear tapes from the other national BBC channel during opt-outs from the normal Ceefax fare, accompanied by the PM5544 testcard.
This is a colour picture but the TV is a VHF 405 receiver. No colour TV had turret tuners or controls for VHF and UHF and were always identified with a three colour symbol in red, green and blue.
Peppered by extremely irritating ads and sometimss playing in the middle of tracks. It is ridiculous considering on the BBC Test Card at the time there were no commercials. Nobody is profiting from uploading or playing these test card tapes as they are not being played for commercial reasons. Also the test card being uploaded and displaying on CZcams is not exactly lost revenue for the BBC. There is money can be made from the test card.
Any chance to uploads Carpe Diem (Complete) BBC2 also Soul Coaxing (Complete) BBC2 Test Card or Winter Walking (Complete) BBC1 all with the cuesheets please Best Wishes Michael from M.G! Cheers and Thank You:-)
I was a bit of a copycat at the time the COW globe BBC1 font came out and therefore a GDPtv version of Test Card F appear did but only in my then drawings not to mention my stories.
Hello MG magicgezzer. please send enclosed cue sheet of Songs of Life of complete listings tracks and songs tunes Songs Of Life also can you upload Nightrider BBC2 Test Card (Complete) 1973 to 1974 also Swing Cocktail BBC2 (Complete) 1972 to 1973 also please send enclosed both cue sheets on Nightrider and Swing Cocktail complete listings. Many thanks Michael.
When music was still REAL MUSIC! Miss those days!
Bring them back to the BBC
Memories. I can still remember these and old ads.
Wow the memories this brings back. I used to put these on just for the easy listening music. Awesome.

@@stuartbritton7408 bummer, dude
@@Kimari91 I cannot think of a more apropos response. I must admit, I giggled a bit. :D
@@stuartbritton7408 Jason (MagicGeezer) passed away in 2018, raise a glass to him in thanks for bringing back a little bit of history.
I think I heard this tape after an Open University broadcast on BBC1 one Saturday morning.
when tv was diak based there was more to watch than there is now. There is nothing on tv now

Getaway! You're not really David Mitchell ... Are you?
I am indeed. No the bloke off the "telly" though, the other one. Oh, and not me Dad either; he's dead.
Dave Mitchell, this was in the days before we faced the proliferation of reality Television shows which to me are a load of tosh.
There are digital BBC Test Cards the BBC can still air if they really wanted to.

I agree with you on this. It's absolutely brilliant I want to hear more. 👍

interesting to see that's an Australian TV dial... with the telltale signs of channels 0 and 5A!
Also on BBC2 Testcard PM5544 (G) on BBC Wales Opt-Out from February 1988 to October 1995.
Yes It was always good to hear tapes from the other national BBC channel during opt-outs from the normal Ceefax fare, accompanied by the PM5544 testcard.
Not exactly my thing, but the musicianship and production is first class. I love the sustain killing gaffer tape on the drums LOL!!
Track 1 is, of course, Songs Of Life by Neil Diamond. From The Jazz Singer.
I could never understand why someone with absolutely no connection with jazz was cast in that role.
This is a colour picture but the TV is a VHF 405 receiver. No colour TV had turret tuners or controls for VHF and UHF and were always identified with a three colour symbol in red, green and blue.
It's a dual standard black and white set 405 and 625 for BBc 2 , 68/70 .
Track two could have been mistaken for Daydream Believer as there is a similarity between the two.
Yes I recorded some of this off-air back in the 80s. Do you have any track names at all?

Can play the music for the TV dog barking

did anyone do the Neil Sedaka testcard,
What did you use to pincushion the card? (-:
A reminder of the days when it waa not flatscreen or widescreen TV and there was a black rim around the edge of the screen.
tracklist?
It doesn't seem right watching this in colour though.
