The test card is quite magnificent. It justifies the license fee on its own. Personally, I think the fee is too low. I would willingly sell my house and all its contents to help the BBC.

BBC1 Daytime television in the 1970’s and 1980’s. Then in 1983 introduced breakfast television and then went back to a testcard straight after.

Used to love the Esso ads, I still have the tigers tail Esso gave away at their petrol stations in the early 60s. Advertisers today should watch these old ads and learn how to attract potential customers attention, instead of the garbage they churn out now leaving you wondering what the hell the advert was actually about.

I remember these tracks from my childhood. I used to absolutely love watching and listening to test cards and ceefax, etc.

I don’t get why he goes backwards, when telly was truly great, partly because we had no choice😂
