- Welcome to Zermatt, Switzerland also known as the true winter wonderland and the most expensive town in the world. This beautiful little ski resort town is located just a few hours away from Zurich by train and is the home of the Matterhorn.
If you like skiing, Zermatt won many awards as the best ski resort in the world. But no need to ski to appreciate this place. The mountains, the snow, the beautiful little restaurants and overall feel of the town makes it all worth the visit.
With that being said, Switzerland is the most expensive country in the world and Zermatt is no exception.
We highly suggest a visit which can be as simple as going up in a cable car to the Matterhorn, enjoying the views before eating a delicious cheese fondue before going back to a cozy chalet style hotel for the night.

So weird. When we lived in Nairobi, we flew our kids from Halifax to Zurmatt to meet us one Christmas break. Stayed at the Ambassador Hotel with a balcony view of the Matterhorn. Watching your videos is like a trip down memory road.

One thing I noticed that you kept pointing out Breithorn as Matterhorn from the viewing platform on Matterhorn Glacier Paradise. Matterhorn is the pyramid shaped one on the other side of the platform.

Wow! Christmas is really big in Switzerland. I don't believe I can live in cold region of the world because my DNA is not just adapted to cold. Hehehe... I know you can stand the cold because you are from Canada, another beautiful country.

We were there except on Italy side. Got tickets to go on the Gondola but the wind was so bad the had to close it. Soooooo disappointed, but now We’ve GOT to go back! We were their Christmas through Jan 5th. Took the trains from Milan, to Bern, Innsbrook, Bologna to Rome, spent New Years Eve and New Yrs day then took train to Milan and stayed 2 more days. Rented a car and we to top of Mountain. Did get to see the Matterhorn even though had to cancel our trip to the Matterhorn. Best Christmas and New Years in our 48yrs of marriage. 🚅🚄🚃🛫🛬🌟🎄💥☃️

On my first trip to Zermatt, I remember getting out at the station at the top of the Gornergrat. The weather was as on your trip and the view was just breathtaking. One of the most beautiful places in the world. And the skiing is amazing - you must definitely go back

We were there in early October and it’s a lot less people and we never gets bored with the view of the Matterhorn and of the glacier paradise is just amazing and the slide inside it’s too short and hardly worth the wait

I'm loving your videos! One thing, though.... You were at the top, with the Matterhorn in the background, talking about how incredibly impressive the view was out over the valley, and yet never turned the camera from your faces. Not once. Maybe I blinked and missed it, but I noticed it several times throughout this vide and one other. You guys are SO cute...but I also want to see the scenery!!! ❤
