When I was locked up in Texas, I had a ditto piece drawn up that was gonna take up most of my back. It depicted this song. DESPERADO as a top rocker. And then a weary cowboy surrounded by imagery. The pattern got confiscated in a shakedown before I could get to the ink in. Always been the ditto song of my life. TY Eagles for so eloquently singing this song. I'm 67 now. First saw The Eagles on 4-6-74. California Jam I.

Many years ago, I was in a dive bar in Ft. Lauderdale. The trio played a set, then announced they were taking a break. A young lady from the audience asked the lead if she could borrow his guitar for ONE song. He said Yes. She sat on his stool and knocked this song out, all by herself. She was INCREDIBLE! As she went on, the place fell silent; and when she finished, she got a 5 minute standing ovation. I'll never forget that night, because it was the first time I had ever heard this iconic song.

Today would’ve been my dads 71st birthday he passed in 2021. Miss him like hell, he loved the eagles and as a kid I was very dismissive i mean Im 24 the music taste was very far apart. As I approach 25 I’ve never loved this band more. The music feels like a hug from my dad like he’s with me again. Forever thankful for this timeless music rest easy pop till we meet again
My best friend since kindergarten loved this song. He just passed away at age 48 from cirrhosis. Great guy just couldn’t beat the whiskey bottle. Rest in peace my friend, I miss you like hell.

Every since day one I've loved their music. I'm not at young as i once was but there isn't a day go by where i don't listen to atleast one of their albums. In memory of Bill and Reatha Smith both gone now. One of my best friends and coworker. Bill would sing this song in a low voice and almost make me cry. He was one of my building principals when I was a superintendent of schools in Kansas. He was a genuine and sincere person. I will miss him forever.

Save them in 1977 in Largo Md, at the Capitol Center, then In Reno, LA, Cincinnati,. there will NEVER be another Country Rock Band to Compare to the Eagles. Right before the "Hell Freezes Over" gig in an interview Felder said that they wrote "Get Over It" as a statement of their intentions. He then said what has stuck with me all the years and probably said it all. Quote "We are all nervous,not about the Music, we are all Professionals but about whether we all still had the chops to be the EAGLES again."

Such a classic tune by one of the best country rock group of the 70s. I was in a popular regional rock group, together for nearly 4 years and The Eagles were at their peak when our mgr. called a band meeting to tell us we would be going on tour to open for them. Needless to say, we were ecstatic. A week later our front man, guitarist and songwriter quit...and four YEARS of our blood, sweat and tears went "POOF", just like that. The night he laid that on us, we still had to do a show and during the last song our drummer came off his drum riser and flattened him right on stage...well deserved I might add. The guy was a completely obnoxious, arrogant prick. That was basically the end of most of our R&R careers.
