THIS IS SO MESSY. I honestly expected to be able to make something longer and much more thought out for them considering those were the last episodes but FUCKING HELL WHAT EVEN HAPPENED? There's so many things that were wrong about episode 15 and 16 I don't know where to start. This timeskip was the worst idea ever, mark me down as angry and bitter.

This song is an unrequited love bop, but from the person who doesn't reciprocate's perspective. It's quite a downer but I just want to say I don't mean to antagonize Jugyeong in any way. Let's mourn our ship but be kind to her, she's a nice girl and not being able to reciprocate Seojun's feelings is not her fault at all.

This was never a love triangle, this was just two characters in love with each other while the other one sacrifices his happiness for both of them, seriously he’s been there for both of them through so much. The least he could get was a decent ending, I understand he debuted. But when Jugyeong was applying lipstick to him I was crushed, you could clearly tell by the way he looked at her he wasn’t over her yet. I wish we could’ve seen some more of him as an idol, he really carried this show. Regardless Hwang In Yeop has done a brilliant job bringing this character to life and it’s unbelievable that this is his first main role, he had a natural chemistry with everyone and I will be waiting patiently for his next project where he is main lead ^-^
Agreed, unlike the webtoon, the drama made it obvious from the begging that they had no intention to make this a love triangle. It was always about suho and jugyeong love story. But yeah hwang inyeop/seojun (along with moon ga young) defs caried the show on their back. Also inyeop grew so much bigger after true beauty, thats for sure. So i really hope to see him in a drama where he is the first lead soon as well :)
ikr, they never write that this will be a basic kdrama triangle love but why seojun hurted then? i know it was scripted long ago, but the way they rushed jukyung-seojun monent at 2 last eps seems too stretched for me. seojun and soojin got no proper happy ending. i understand abt soojin, but why seojun? the debut never in the first place
and the fact that episode 16 was a messed.. they didnt leave a great message to the viewers the fact that the title is true beauty , too much focused to jugyeongs loveline with suho .. i was expecting that it will be something like an open ending..seojun didnt have a happy ending tbh not because he became an idol , you can see in him that theres still emptiness on him , the writing was so bad on this episode... they should entitled it as true love not true beauty lol ...

i just think it’s unfair how the drama never tried to consider writing jugyeong into seojun at any point, like yeah their interactions were always cute but her character was always into suho (which is sad because in the webtoon was more of a fair “fight” since a lot of her firsts were with seojun) but that’s just the way the kdrama turned and it’s ok i just wish they hadn’t done the timeskip or at least given seojun closure earlier but yeah,,, it’s a mess
i’m sad that suho gots seojun’s scenes from the webtoon. like the first kiss

so, let's be honest: the name of the drama "true beauty" actually was about Seojun, cause it showed how beautiful he is:inside and outside. His character was the only one that grew during the whole drama episode by episode. His character was the only one that taught a lot about how person should be. That's why the ending sucks and everyone is sad and not satisfied with the ending. Even during the last minutes we saw that he was still in love with her and his heart was broken till the end. The directors decided to hurt him till the end and not let us see his happy ending or see how he moved on. I know that maybe this kind of endings make dramas more interesting and make them stay popular for a long time, but come on, it was too much. Even though he didn't get the girl, for me their chemistry was way too strong and beautiful than with the main lead actor. And about the actor: I can not imagine anyone else who could naile his role in such a wonderful way. I think he did a great job and due to his acting, even the ones who supported the main lead actor, anyway liked Seojun and were sad to see his ending. I hope to see him in a new drama where he will be the main lead, so I can move on from this drama's ending, cause I am so disappointed with this ending

Hwang inyeop is such a good actor, i honestly cant imagine anyone doing seojun's character better than him, and the fact that hes pretty much a rookie but already this good is just amazing.

I feel so heartbroken because I fell in love with his beautiful character and had to see him suffer the entire time. He is true beauty because he put everyone before himself and rather cries alone on the stairs than let the one he loves the most be unhappy. He is by far one of the best Korean male leads I've ever seen and it breaks my heart to know that he didn't receive half as much in the show as he deserved. Yes it was obvious from the start that she would end up with Suho but nonetheless they acted insensitive towards him. He stood by her side for two years which she didn't truly acknowledge until the end. She wasn't a great friend and he deserved more than she could have ever given him. They tried to make everyone happy at the end but didn't saw his pain. Even though he became an idol he doesn't seem so happy and the carefree and always smiling Seojun left somewhere in between getting hurt over and over again. What many don't understand is that we aren't mad about the fact that she didn't end up with him which was quite obvious but we're mad because they wasted his full potential. He carried a huge part of the show on his back and is definitely one of the most well liked characters thanks to the actor but this has gotten him literally nowhere 😔 In my head he is happy and the last episode doesn't exist 💔

I instantly fell in love with his character and him as an actor because he is just a talented cutie. I rooted for them the entire time because they obviously made it look like they could have a chance 🤡 but after the tenth episode or so I knew that they would break his heart but still couldn't stop watching him. Everything about his character is just so lovable and pure which made everyone fall in love with him. They truly created him just to make him suffer and they could have easily created a more beautiful ending for him but no 😒 At least the actor became insanely famous and well liked and I really hope that we see him in many more shows where he hopefully finally gets the girl because I can't see him cry even more 😂❤️

I know we couldn't really blame Jugyeong for not having feelings or whatsoever but what angers me is the blatant fact that she doesn't even care about him AT ALL when he is actually, for the most part, her FRIEND. a genuine one at that. Seojun was literally taken for granted and it frustrates me because he's literally the most genuine person ever.
Edit: I saw people saying that Jugyeong doesn't owe him anything and while that's true, it is still basic human decency to show appreciation to people who goes out of their way for looking out for you and always having your best interest in mind. Like Eunbi, for example, she wasn't able to reciprocate Taekwang's feelings but at least she APPRECIATED the things Taekwang DID for her, even just on a friendly regard. Taekwang's efforts didn't go unnoticed. Eunbi noticed it and sincerely thanked Taekwang for it because she cherishes him as a friend. And I just couldn't say the same for Jugyeong. And that gives me a bitter taste in the mouth. It's literally frustrating.

If the actor for Suho wasn’t so damn handsome, it would be clearer for Suho stans to understand the depth of Seojun’s character.
Yes, Suho did help Jugyeong a lot and she was always there to acknowledge it while what Seojun did was all behind the scenes. Jugyeong has NO idea about him. He was so late in expressing his feelings all because he wanted to save his friendship with Suho.

@@nurulasyiqin3203 sorry to say this but the drama having a season 2 is very unlikely. Each drama is usually one season, with one storyline that has a defined arc and a resolution. Having one story with a defined arc makes the experience of watching a k-drama more like watching one long movie than watching a season-or two-of a U.S. TV show.

the way in yeop acts the part when suho appeared when he was Hugging jukyeong.. the fear in his eyes to lose jukyeong and how he hugged her tighter as a last hug and the way he closed his eyes when he hugged her for the second time to say goodbye for his first love is a masterpiece

for the ENTIRE drama seojun was always there for jugyung. even when she was crying over suho, seojuns best friend, when he himself was also in love with her. he literally wiped her tears away and kept silent for suho and jugyungs sake.. and at the end all she could do was apologise to him? he honestly never needed a sorry. he deserved a thank you, he deserved to be acknowledged for everything he's done for her. not even suho thanked seojun for being there and taking care of the girl he left for 2 years? in the scene where jugyung applies lipstick on seojun you can see it in his eyes.. that he isnt over her yet. i dont think he'll ever get over her honestly, but the least the couple with a 'happy ending' couldve done is to thank him. we all knew seojun wouldnt actually end up with jugyung, but that does not mean he should get a half-hearted ending :(

Honestly this boy deserves every single happiness on this damn planet!! He's an angel in disguised, like how can they hurt him so badly?? I'm so pissed off! They messed up his character at the end, seriously they never showed our vintage seojun until the end! They showed him like a loser, and didn't give justice for the legendary character HAN SEOJUN. Fuck. Ya'll think he lost? But the truth is, as his true admirer, I'm saying that jukyeong doesn't even deserve this angel boy, Han seojun is too good for jugyeong, I mean he deserves an angel girl like him who will love him the way he does, who will always love him, choose him, and only him unlike jugyeong who didn't realize how grateful she was to him, who never respected him, who never even considered his feelings, sufferings he had because of her, who failed to appreciate him for so muchh he has done for her, I'm not saying that she must have chosen seojun over suho, but atleast she MUST have shown ten percent of love and care he showed towards her, but she didn't, she wasn't even half good enough for him as he was for her. I actually wanna thank god because jugyeong left him and now he's an idol, he did nothing wrong, he was always there for people when they needed him. He is the Best Best Best boy ever. End of the discussion.

tbh they had more chemistry. She was more like herself when she's with him. But with Suho they didn't share that much and they had little to no chemistry. I'm really sad for Seojun but since he deserves someone much better, that's the only relief for me
Oh my god I completely agree suho and jugyeong had NO chemistry like by the end of the show their scenes made me so uncomfortable I would close my eyes. It all felt so forced and unnatural, like they were only ending up together because that was what had been planned in advance, and not because they're genuinely compatible people. Also the fact that every single time they hugged, suho would pat her on the head like a dog GOT TO ME, like bro, SHES NOT A DOG, STOP IT.

He didn't give up his happiness. he had no choice .she does not love him there was nothing to give up. He just dealt with the reality that it is a NO for him and he can now move on and find someone else.
I really like how Seojun didn’t let his friendship with Suho get damaged because he was in love. This part really hit me hard when he knew that Suho was back and he shouldn’t be spending time with his ex. He was a great friend.
seojun was there to wipe her tears to hold her hands when suho was too afraid to be by her side because of his life issues ( dad .. etc) ، he was the perfect friend to her and he will always be , the fact that she still in love with suho after 2 years of breaking up shows that true love isn't abt the right person or the right time .. it's just love guys she couldn't swallow her feelings for suho .. seojun was the one who truly
found his self after he was so sick abt his friend suicide he got the chance to sing again and he got the chance to brought back suho to his life ... ( this drama taught me that there's beauty in every thing even after we didn't get what we were hoping for to get ... there's something better than we expected is waiting for us ... and u can see this in seojun eyes when he was singing ❤️)
I really hate how they ended his character. I only shipped him with Jugyeong in the beginning because I wanted to see him get the girl he wanted, but towards the end I didn’t honestly want then together. When she was crying and he comforted but she ignored he was ever there for her, broke me. Like I don’t see him working for a girl like Jukgyeong because Jukgyeong is more a damsel in distress and I think he needs a girl who will appreciate his love and reciprocate it. I was totally okay with him not being with Jukgyeong but I didn’t expect him to keep liking her til the end and then not really finding happiness. I was even thinking hed end up with another love interest and move on a grow, but they left him hurt. Like did they do this on purpose? It’s not fair at all. It’s almost like the director had a vendetta on him or something. I am so disappointed. I really hope they give him lead character next time. Please this man needs to be cherished 💙
One thing i hate about korean dramas: they always use good characters as props. It doesn't always have to be a three-person party to make it a good love story.

Honestly this is the only drama I got interested after a while of watching so many dramas and the only drama I cried over and to be honest I was surprised when tears started falling out of my eyes and didn't stop falling even if I tried to wash it off my face 😞😥

Ok so I need to rant about this drama...this show started out enjoyable and seemed to have a good message behind it. But towards the later part they shifted the focus to me from JG to Suho and it made me lose interest in it because Suho's character imo is very dry. And them as a couple I just didn't feel the chemistry, they were so awkward I found myself fast forwarding through their scenes (and that bed scene or whatever that was in the finale between them was so unnecessary and seemed misplaced but whatever). And poor Seojun was left just pining over her for the whole second half of the drama. Being there for her the whole time but JG's mind was so clouded for just Suho that she didn't even seem aware or grateful about the things Seojun was doing for her. Romantic or not I just don't think she was a good friend to him. I personally think both JG and Suho were bad friends. Suho apparently knew about Soojin being abused for a long time and never seemed to have even ask about her well-being even before JG got in the picture. I mean just being a friend that can listen and be a shoulder to cry on would have helped. I don't think Soojin would have went so far off the deep end if he was there for her in the beginning. If it wasn't for Seojun and JG's family scenes for the comedic relief I would have dropped it.

Exactly, I feel like even with all the talents and hobbies and personality traits they gave Suho (and took from Seojun's webtoon character just because they could) he came off as very dry and one dimensional. I wouldn’t have minded had it not had so much of the shows focus but it literally felt more like the Suho show at some points and they didn't write his character well enough for me to care. It all just felt so contrived and overly dramatic. I wish there was more focus on Soo jin because she had basically the same background as Suho but was way more complex and intresting imo - her suffering actually made me integuied to see more instead of with Suho it just felt like a pity party done to explain why this character should get the girl at the end.
@@jamilasamra5779 I agree, I was also interested in Soojin's storyline and wasn't a fan of how her character was written like she was not just the typical jealous mean girl. She was being abused, hurt people hurt people. The best part of the finale to me was seeing Soojin in a good place and happy.

Can we just take a minute amd appreciate the owners editing? The editing of this song is so on point.
As someone who absolutely adores plot structure, I just wanted to say some things to clear up the feeling of inconsistency we all feel?? This show was so enjoyable up until I wanna say the episode after the one where JG realized that the people around her wouldn’t leave her for her looks BECAUSE up until then there was TENSION and THEME. tension is a key point because it’s kinda what keeps us wondering what will happen. The theme of the show is knowing that beauty lies within, not outside. Basically, after that one hallway scene where JG stands up to the bully and Suho hugs her(?), all of that tension dissipates. Because JG has realized that she’s beautiful because she is JG. I’m not mad at the rest of the episode because it ties all this up.
However what I don’t like is how the next three or so episodes were completely unnecessary to what the story is about and basically tied up the remaining storylines (that are supposed to be solved BEFORE the main storyline ends) into a big bow.
The reason many of us don’t feel satisfied with the ending is (not only because seojun had his heart ripped out for the sake of others, but...) because the ACTUAL ending happened when JG realized she was beautiful. All of the b side stories should have been resolved before or close to when JG realized that.
After episode 13 I was confused. If the actual plot had ended here, why did we still have three episodes to go? And why are none of the b sides finished? Like with seojun: if jugyeong was happy at the end of her plot with suho, why didn’t we get a scene before where seojuns feelings were resolved? Or where soojin apologizes?
Like...it just goes on?
The last three episodes were all about how suho and jugyeong missed each other plus SO MUCH B STORY FILLER and seojun getting mistreated. Legit he made the choice to get JG and Suho back together despite feeling like LITERAL SHIT after trying so hard. Why introduce a character as the second love interest if they never had a chance? Seojun was just someone to be jealous over for Suho. If they had at least given seojun some girl at the end that he could be happy with then MAYBE I would forgive them.
Anyways true beauty writers don’t know how to write an ending for shit thank you for listening to my Ted talk.

I remember how hurt i was feeling with tears when she broke up with him in the webtoon they were beautiful togather .. there were many ways to save that lovely relationship and their hearts from being broken they could hv been beautifully together

If they were planning on giving seojun such an ending where he doesn't get the girl (bcz he's second lead makes sense in the drama world) ...then they shouldn't have given him so much screen time with juk. Like their chemistry was way better than hers with suho. Seojun's character had all the potential to even be the male lead. Its almost like giving us false hope that maybe one day they'd end up together. And juk really gave me the dumb girl vibes sometimes.
And another thing i noticed was that seojun didn't even seem that ecstatic about being an idol and that he would've been much happier to have juk by his side. So him being an idol didn't really seem like a ''happy ending'' for his character.
But anyways i felt like i enjoyed the first half of the show better because towards the end it was almost like two different stories (all about suho) Seojun really carried the show according to me.

it was so amazingly heartbreaking to see everyone get a happy ending, while Seo Jun was all alone. I mean yeah sure he still has his friends and family, but it was that deep sense of _loneliness_ that radiated off of him that just broke me

I love Jugyeong and suho in the webtoon and I ship them a lot but now ... I dunno anymore. I still like them but I find Seojun and kang soo jin more interesting in this kdrama. I love how look badass Seojun are and how cool Kang Soo Jin became. Some people might hate me for liking this two side character but idc. I love them both in this drama and I hope they'll be MC in their next drama

Dang, I just realized during the middle of this the reason why I rooted for him. He is me. All my life I've been him. And it hurts. I broke down crying and it all makes sence now. Just cuz he debued doesn't make his pain go away, it isn't necessarily a happy ending for him and that really hurts

Hwang In Yeop did a brilliant job in this drama. While watching Han Seo Jun, I didn't feel even for a moment that he is a fictional character. I can feel Han Seo Jun's pain.

The fact that watching edits like this still hurt even though this drama ended like 8 months ago. It really says how great of a character he was and how much he didn't deserve the ending he got. I just wanted to see him happy and completely over her. The ending didn't show him over her and it hurts that they couldn't atleast show how he has moved on with his life and his success as an idol. Still so upset with the ending. He wasn't appreciated as the amazing friend he was.

About the story, what hurt me most with the script was that they made a perfect character like Seojun and in the end he was simply discarded.
He debuted, I know, but regardless, what made him happy the most was Jugyeong and that became noticeable as the episodes passed, and despite the friendzone he was always there for her, being the person she needed and that I could always tell .... I think the drama writers missed the chance to make a great ending with an incredible character. honestly ... I can't, I'm not satisfied with the ending. for me, true beauty was only until episode 15, i will pretend that episode 16 never happened and that's it.

The two saddest scenes in this drama are, one where Ju Gyeong's mom finds out she was getting bullied in school. The way her mom cried was so so heartbreaking. I cried with her. And second is when Seo Jun let's her go in the 15th episode I think?! He breaks down at the staircase. Man that was heart shattering. Since the webtoon released I was team Suho. But in this drama I fell in love with Seo Jun. I've never felt this way for a second lead ever before. It's painful 😭 Hope Seo Jun is happy ❤️

I know Soojin was going through A LOT and the things she did was actually because she was traumatized with all the mess going on at home, at school with his crush who started dating her bestfriend and her pressure of always being number one. Anyway, Han Seojun never even once decided to try to break them apart in order to mend his heart. He would've made an even better boyfriend than Suho. Rather, Seojun did so much to bring them close and even at the end when he had the chance to make Jugyeong his, HE MADE HER GO BACK TO SUHO !!

Honestly Jukyung does not deserve Seojun not because she has no feelings for him its because she never owes him anything. I have always noticed it, whenever Seojun helped Jukyung to get back with Suho, she shows no respect to him. It's like she forgot about Seojun whenever she saw Suho. Suho only got to know her face when they met by coincidence in the comic store(its pretty noticeable), if this didn't happen then even if they were dating, Jukyung would still wear makeup to impress Suho. And it's common sense to know how Seojun would react if he had seen her face at the first place because he has a sister who suffers the same thing. So its obvious Seojun wouldn't mind at all. Actually I hoped Soojin and Seojun could be in love as a plot twist for the happy ending but NO. Seojun will start his idol life(y'all know how hard it is) and Soojin left just like that.
